He feigns a frown.
"I'm afraid I can't let you have another one my dear." He moves the bag towards himself as if he is going to put them away in his inner pocket, then just as he is about to place them in the pocket, he stops. “But, you can have the rest if you wish” he extends the bag towards her. “I have so many of these, some times I have no idea what I should do with them, so some times I give entire bags away he says shaking his head.
It was true; he seemed to have a never-ending supply of the jelly delights, where they came from truly puzzled him with a mental shake of his head he decides that is an adventure for another day and that he should focus at the conversation with Sarah-Jane.
“So what do you say Sarah-Jane? Would you like the rest of the bag?”
He begins to wonder about what was making those poor children sick, was it alien? Or was it a new type of earth virus? Either way he couldn’t stand by while young lives may be at risk! He begins to become lost in thought and fails to notice that as he slips deeper into thought he also begins to slouch instinctively he moves his hand to his chin normally this would be much of a problem, but the hand he was using to hold up was the hand that held his chin…

And that is how Sarah Jane Smith found herself with her first bagful of Jelly Babies in her pocket, and the Doctor riding shot gun in the 1959 Austin Healey Sprite Mk I 'Frog Eye' auto that the Paper had let her sign out for the day. Sarah Jane drove with an exuberant, youthful flair. At 21, she had no sense of her own mortality. It might have been alarming if she wasn't so obviously, utterly, eagerly focused on what she was doing, and executing her task with the same easy grace with which she moved through the rest of her life. She drove with quite a flare, even more so as the rain tapered off.
"They have tours through the ground level every day," She was saying, "so whatever has gone wrong, I don't think it will be obvious from there. I've been guessing that whatever is going on, it's happening in one of the basement levels. We have to take the tour anyway so I can spot a way in from the ground floor. There are a couple of concrete staircases that dig down from outside right to the lower floors, but I've tried them. They are sealed up tighter than a drum. I don't think anything less than dynamite could open them."

The Doctor sits relaxed in the auto, the way she drove reminded him of how he used pilot The TARDIS when he was younger, with a youthful flare and a sense of excitement and adventure. She would be meeting his Third Incarnation soon and when she did, she would begin a life of adventure, of alien encounters of- He lost of this train of thought as they hit a speed bump jolting him back to reality, just in time to hear "sealed up tighter than a drum. I don't think anything less than dynamite could open them."
"I'm quite sure that I could get us past those doors my dear, as a magician i need to be skilled in lock picking, you just focus on getting the attention away from me while I do it, how does that sound Sarah-Jane?'

She is turning and giving him a half judgmental smile as she looks at him out of the corner of her left eye. She does this even as she pulls into the parking lot and jounces them both to a stop. It is suddenly quiet and still.
Apparently he is not found lacking. Sarah Jane gives him a full on sunny smile. She is finding she likes her cousin quite a bit.
"I dare say I do believe you, Mr.Smith, after that stunt you pulled with that old Police Call Box."
Most unexpectedly, she beings to shimmy out of her slicker pants. skimming them down coltish legs.
"Don't peek." She said, censure in her voice, half teasing, half serious. It wasn't like he was looking now anyway.

"I'm going to find a way in to the building" he says gets out of the car "come and find me when you are finished changing." Leaving her to her privacy, he wanders around for about three or four minutes before finding an entrance to the basement, he to no avail tries to open them.
"Drat" he thinks to himself, he quickly looks around for anyone in view; when he sees no one he brings out his Sonic Screwdriver and waves it over the lock.
'Bzzzzzzz' 'ka-chink'
The lock opens, he gets up with a smile "Now to wait for Sarah Jane" he thinks as he returns his Sonic to his pocket.

If she was going to be distracting, her big yellow slicker pants were going to make the wrong impression. The tight jeans she wore underneath would catch an eye or two. Six wiggles and a shimmy, removal of her knit cap and a quick fluff of her short hair and she is on her way after the Doctor.
There was a guard at the front door, right next to the ticket seller for the tours. She made it look like she was going to a different building off the big parking lot and did an end run around to where the Doctor was at, ever expecting to run into one of the many grounds guards who had been out here the first time she cased the waterworks.
Now there was only the Doctor and a heavy open door. An impossible to open door, as far as she had been concerned. She hurried down the concrete flight of stairs to stand beside him and peek in.
"How did you do that?" She asked, incredulous.
((OOC-The waterworks at Waddon, Croydon, was the last steam-powered utility in Britain.))

He looks at her, smiles a cheeky smile and says "Dear Dear Sarah-Jane Haven't you heard the first and golden rule of magic?" He fiddles in his pockets and pulls out a small flash light before opening the doors of the basement, he turns with a smiles and descends into the darkness. his voice is audible from the dimly lit basement "A good magician, never reveals his secrets."

"Dear Dear Sarah-Jane Haven't you heard the first and golden rule of magic?"
"Make sure your assistant is only half as tall as your saw box?" She teased.
"A good magician, never reveals his secrets."
The Doctor had the smallest flashlight she'd ever seen. Her own slick new model was double the size of her cousin's and she'd left it in the car, afraid to get caught by the guards with it. She stuck close as they wound there way through the turning, pumping, steaming rolling large under works. It was beautiful, really, a true feet of human engineering left over from the Steam age. She clutched his arm and followed the beam of the Doctor's flashlight eagerly around with her eyes.
Why hadn't she broken in here sooner? "Doctor, it's wonderful!" She whispered.

“It is magnificent, one of humanity’s greatest achievements, before electricity of course but, a work of Beauty,” He says smiling; he claps his hands together “So Sarah-Jane what do you say we split up, and at the risk of sounding like a cartoon dog, split up and look for clues as to what’s going on?”
He wanted to find out if it was an alien causing what happened, but if it was he couldn’t let Sarah-Jane know, because if she found out about aliens now, who knows what Happen to the time stream, so he hope she would agree to his plan.
“if you wish, you may use my flashlight, I always keep a spare”

It really was a wonder, this place. But a danger as well. Sarah Jane thankfully took the flashlight. It would be good to split up, they could cover twice as much ground.
"Thank you, Doctor" She said, distracted, pleased, patting his hand and wandering off on her own. She wove her way about in the shifting, steaming, thumping dimness. Sarah did not know what she was looking for, but she bet she would know when she saw it.
It was not too long before she came across the brownish green streaks on the floor. There she found a low, round tunnel entrance, and the damp streaks leading though it. Someone with mud and grass on their shoes dragging their feet? Dragging something?
Sarah slipped through. She found this. Dozens of them, the size of beach balls. Unsurprisingly, she screamed.

The Doctor was shining his flash light around trying to find any sign of alien life which he had trouble finding, which was not good because if he didn't find it then Sar-
A scream is heard.
'Well looks like it Sarah-Jane found the alien or perhaps aliens' he thought thinks as he starts to run towards in the direction the scream came from.
'I hope they are friendly because I all I have are some left over Jelly Babies and my Sonic Screwdriver' he thinks as he reaches Sarah-Jane's location

At first she'd tried to back up against the wall to get away from them, but she'd bumped into something squishy and warm behind her that moved. With another shriek she jumped to the middle of the sewage pipe. One more scream escaped before she could stop. Then her cousin came in, bright light brandished.
"What the #$@ are these?" She asked, indelicately and panting her distress, splayed fingered hand to her hammering heart.

"First Sarah-Jane, please watch your language, second of all I need you to relax and hold still" he takes a step towards her... "This won't hurt I promise" He takes another step...

The large, gooey blobs of life that wobbled and stretched toward her in there places were only about half as frightening after the Doctor arrived. Still, she trembled there, only half hearing him as she stared at the impossible things that lumped and bumped there way down at close intervals through the giant pipe.
"What?" She asked, feeling a little blurry and reaching out a hand to him.

He gently reaches over and places his index fingers on her forehead then places his forehead against hers. "I promise you it won't hurt." He says as he closes his eyes Electricity pulses through his fingers into her mind sealing the memories of what happened down deep into her brain, he adds some fake memories to satisfy her inner journalist. then sends a second pulse to put her into a state of unconscious. He lays her on the ground then proceeds to the strange creatures on the wall.
"Ahhh, Aquinins, such peaceful creatures." he snaps his fingers "Aha! I get it you stopped at earth like geese taking a rest on their way North. you a detected the large amount of sugar at the school, and the large amount of water, which you needed to be near like frogs. You didn't realize the sugar and the water were separate, got trapped, and now starved, could not get away. Thats why you used brain control over the children to bring them down there in hopes they would have some in their lunch boxes. But it was after school and the boxes were empty. A little mind control, but it only works on children. All you need is a helping of sugar and they'll have enough energy to use your multiple extraordinary minds to teleport the rest of the way home. Lucky for you I have some left over Jelly Babies!"
He proceeds to give a Jelly Baby to each one then gently carries Sarah-Jane up the steps out of the basement and to her car.
