Bryan was out for a night on the town one crisp night in Cardiff, Wales. He had his hands in his pockets and his jean jacket on. He looked around at all the full-blood humans that passed him, eye-ing a few of the girls occasionally and smirking. He had to admit that a few of them had some things going for them.

Serenity walked quickly along the cold dark streets of Cardiff. She was silently cursing her friend Melanie who had basicly forced her to wear the short dark blue dress that was little more than a scrap of fabric and the 6" silver heels that had been sitting in her closet for 4 years. Melanie had bought them as a joke and Serenity had vowed to never wear them but Melanie just wouldn't take no as an answer. So now here she was walking alone in the dark in an outfit that was entirely indecent, freezing to death and basicly asking for attention that she didn't want.

Bryan continued his way. Then he spotted a woman in a dark blue dress and 6" heels. It seemed to him that it was not at all fitting with this weather. He approached her.
"Excuse me, you look a bit out of place," Bryan said to her as he walked beside her.

She couldn't believe that this guy had the affront to walk up to her and say something so rude! She was in a pretty bad mood already and he certainly wasn't helping so she couldn't help the instant retort, "Yes, and you look a bit like your in my way!" She turned to slip past him.

Bryan chuckled a bit. "Geez, just trying to make conversation," he said as he followed behind her. She fascinated him. Something about her seemed different. "I'm sorry that you seem to be in a bad mood. I was just wondering if you might want a ride home."

This guy was really starting to get to her. Honestly was he insane or just your average guy trying to pick up the sluttish girl he saw on the street. Because really what kind of person asked a complete stranger to get in their car with good intentions. "You really expect me to get in a car with a total stranger!?"

Bryan smiled and shook his head. "No, I'm not expecting anything. I'm asking if you want to get in a cab with a total stranger named Bryan. If anything, I'm expecting you to just slap me and leave, hoping not to get picked up by a really nefarious character."

She couldn't help but smile! Something about this guy just screamed at her and the screaming wasn't the scared or angry kind just the keep an eye on this guy sort. Pulling a serious expression, "I don't get in cars with strangers!" She smiled and put out her hand, "I'm Serenity, I guess we aren't strangers any more, but unfortunately I don't see a taxi so I'm just doing to have to walk."

Bryan smiled as he took her hand and shook it. "I guess we aren't." He looked up and down the street. "Come on, there's a cab stand up a few blocks." He led the way up the street with her. He smiled that it actually worked.

Part of her was screaming and cursing at he rest. How could we dare to trust some stranger, especially after what happened last time! She almost turned and ran the other way but the smile on his face that she just barley caught a glimpse of forced her to walk with him. As soon as they reached the taxi stand she grabbed onto the sign post and lifted each foot to take off the heels. "God, these things are killing me." she declared and added a mutter to herself, "I hate shoes." She wiggled and scrunched her toes for a second before letting out a content sigh.

Bryan just smiled. "Yeah, well, I'd hate those heels too if I were walking around in them." He sat down on a nearby bench. "It might be a while. It's busy hour for cabbies. About the time most people head back home." He started to shrug off his jean jacket.

She saw him start to take his jacket off and she immediately said, "You even think about offering me your jacket and I'm slap you!" She had always been a bit of a romantic but some things were just a bit too cheesy for her and this was one of the things that really annoyed her.

Bryan shrugged as he folded his jacket on his lap. "Alright, you can freeze if you want," he said cooly. "I was just getting a bit warm and thought that if I didn't need it at the moment..."

Instantly the entire situation changed from relaxed to extremely tense. She looked away not wanting to meet his eyes. "Sorry, that was really rude of me. It's just one of my pet peeves. Thanks for considering that I might have been cold." She had been really enjoying her time with him even though she had only known him for about 10 minutes. She always did this, scared people off. She sighed before saying so quietly it was almost a whisper, "I'll just go then" She stood up and went to leave.
