Bryan sighed and mentally kicked himself as he stood up. "Serenity, please wait..." Why was it that when he actually liked a girl he tried to pick up, he always screwed it up somehow? He put his jacket over his arm and reached into his pocket for something. "Do you have money for a cab?"

"No, it's fine I can just walk. It isn't that far." God, this guy wasn't creepy or weird like she had originally thought, no he was just one of the few genuinely nice guys. Of course she messed it up she was destined to end up alone. But he was so sweet and considerate, even with the coat.

"Let me walk with you then? I'd hate to hear something on the news about you going missing or lying in some gutter somewhere or something," Bryan offered. Maybe there was some way of fixing whatever mistake he made. But, then again... what if she found out...?

She grimaced before replying, "Pleasant thought." She turned and began to walk away but stopped after just a few steps and grinned back at him. "Well... aren't you coming?"

Bryan grinned and started following her. "So, uh... What are you doing wearing that little thing anyway? It's not exactly the best thing for this kind of weather, especially on this side of town." He then started thinking about all the possibilities of where this could go. If things went well, they could actually be together, a couple.

She grimaced and replied, "Yeah my friend Melanie is going out with some crazy drug addict guy, I don't like or trust him but she wont listen. She didn't want to go to his party alone so she forced me to wear this and go with her. I don't usually dress like this." the last line was said partly to reassure him. "Well the other reason I'm over here is because I live near here." she said with a grin.

Bryan nodded. "That makes sense," he said as he put his hands in his pockets. He grinned at the last bit. "That's good, not too far to walk. Well, he's not going to be there, is he? He doesn't seem like a trustworthy person to me, either."

"I would never let anyone I didn't trust completely into my house, and he is just about the last person on my list of people I trust." She stopped walking and skipped up the four steps to a worn blue door, in the front of a cream house. She opened her bag and started digging around in it before letting out a triumphant noise as she found her keys.

"That's good," Bryan said as he watched her. He laughed a little when he heard her. He looked at the house, hands still in his pockets as he stood at the foot of the steps. "You've got a nice house," he said with a smile.

She unlocked the front door and stepped over the threshold. "Thanks, do you want to come in?" she asked him opening the door a little wider.

Bryan grinned. "Sure, thank you." With what she said previously, he knew that this was a very good sign. He walked up the steps to join her.

She turned on the lights and closed the door behind Bryan. "The lounge is to the left. Do you want something to drink or eat?" She waited for his answer before replying, "Okay, I'll be right back, make your self at home." She said before walking off.

"Some water, please," Bryan replied and smiled, then looked to the left, the lounge. He walked in and looked around. He had to admit that this place was rather nice compared to his, but he never really had the time to pick it up. If he could only do that, maybe, just maybe, it could look somewhere close to nice.

She quickly changed into a comfortable pair of jeans and pulled on a green shirt that had been in her hamper from the day before. She grabbed a glass of water for Bryan and a glass of milk for herself before wandering back into the lounge. "There you go." she said handing him his glass before settling on the couch across from him.

"Thank you," Bryan said as he took the glass and almost gulped it down, trying to restrain himself, knowing that he didn't look as thirsty as he was.
