Chadirra wondered along a dark street in the rain, she was wet and cold with no where to go. she shivered as she looked around, looking for any source of shelter from the fridged rain. There has to be some place to get out of this blasted rain.

Hot tea and a crossword puzzle. With no one else home but the tin dog (a name she thought of him by more often when he was on the fritz, as he was now) so she was wearing her big woolly warm slippers and one of Peter's big cotton robes. It was the only sentimentality she kept about, and did not wear it in front of the Gang. It was a sweet way to grieve.
Mr.Smith went on yellow alert. In the old days this used to be heralded by spinning lights and annoying sounds. A little reprogramming, and now Mr.Smith gave her this mid-level alert by slowly fading in the tune "Bad to the Bone". Not because they were always bad, most weren't. It was instead a song choice to raise her inner warrior. Just in case.
Sarah Jane leaned back from the table, tea cradled in her hands. "What is it, Mr.Smith?"
"Sarah Jane, I am detecting a class two Alien." "Put what you've got on the screen." She walked over, resting a palm on the computer and standing hip shot as she read. Quite briefly. "But Mr.Smith, all it says is "Nibiru : Deceased." "That is why it is a class, Two, Sarah Jane, there should not be any. The Nibiru just walked right out of a temporal schism. Sarah Jane, the space manipulation signature is one frequented by the Bane."
Sarah Jane frowned mightily at this. "Mr.Smith, I want you to use your auxiliary tap off the house and keep your sensors sharp. Put on the afterburners."
Three hours later she is still driving. Spiraling. Mr.Smith can only get her so close, then she must be closer still to find it with her Alien Detector. And now she had. A small, miserable looking someone, catching in her headlights and setting off her gismo. She drove past, turned at a side street, and circled back, catching the lone figure in her headlights, aiming just off to the side of . . .of . . . . .it was a girl, or she looked just like a girl. She stopped a good 12 yards away, and turned off the engine, leaving on the lights. She rolled down her window and smiled out of it.
"Hi there!"

Avril looked around sadly, she shook her head as the screams of her peoples last moments filled her head but why did I suvive.. I was on that planet.. she looked up at the dark sky in wonder why did I survive? What have I done to deserve life in the first place? No friends no family, I am just as good as dead now.. she stared up at the sky a little longer then lowered her head and looked down sadly. Chadirra jumped when someone yelled, " Hi there!" She turned and looked at the woman, she tilted her head a little interpreting what she said, "Hello.." she said shyly, backing up a little. I am on a planet that I know nothing about.. is she one of those that I can trust? She studied the smile on the womans face, it was telling Chadirra that she can be trusted, Chadirra stepped forward a little in response. Something about her reminded her of her mother, she wiped a tear away from her eye, she hoped she did not look as troubled as she felt.

Poor little rain drenched kitten, she thought. Not older than 16, perhaps, and all big blue eyes and dripping black hair against pale skin. Perhaps she was Sarah Jane sized, but she suspected the girl was a bit smaller yet. She got out of her car, not bothering to raise an umbrella. Her black leathers would keep everything but her head dry enough, and the expanding cloth disk of protection might be easily mistaken for a weapon. The rain was cold. She she the door and leaned on it casually. Her smile has grown, for though the girl first started back like a startled doe, she then took a brave step forward.
Although the girl appeared young, it was not how Sarah Jane was judging her age. It was the look on the girl's face. Alien she might be, but she just looked like any other kid on the street. What stood out was that she looked absolutely hopeless.
What terrible wave of chance had washed this poor creature up on Earth?
"My name is Sarah Jane Smith. I'm in charge of orientation around here for newcomers. How would you like to get out of the rain and come get warm and dry?"
It was a distinct possibility the kid could shoot laser beams out her eyes or any create any manner of unexpected chaos. Sarah Jane would deal with that if it came to it. Or die. She had found though, that trust was often worth dying for. Not to mention how much it increased ones possibility to be quick on ones feet. She also had a handy gaget or two tucked away in the car.. Right now though, she just wanted to get them both into the car. Rain was dripping down her collar in cold rivulets that traced down her skin under her jacket.

Chadirra watched her get out of the car cautiously, taking a slight step back but seeing she was not here to cause harm stepped closer so she can see her better through her tear drenched eyes, " My name is Chadirra.." She said shyly, "I have no where to go.. I do not know how I got here in the first place.." Chadirra struggled to fight the tears that threatened to shed, as the screams filled her head.

Chadirra was crying enough Sarah Jane could see it even in the rain.
"Nice to meet you, Chandirra. Don't worry. We'll figure all of that out. First let's just get you comfortable, alright? Come on." She said, coming around the front of the car to the passenger side. Sarah Jane was inclined to brush the child's shoulder comfortingly as she walked by, so convinced she was that the girl was just lost and not the lead wave of some invasion force. However, long experience held her back. Chadirra was a bit jumpy anyway, and Sarah Jane didn't want to have to go chasing off after her in the dark. She herself would also like to be warm and dry at home soon.
Opening the car door, she stepped back and gave a come a long motion with her hand, and indicating to the girl she should get in.
"Don't worry, we'll get you dried off and sorted out."

Chadirra watched her before quietly walking over shyly, "Okay." She watched her open the door and got in quietly. She looked around in the vehicle rather confused what is this? We had nothing like this.. we simply morphed according to where we are going to travel. she pulled her wet hair out of her face and looked out the window for a moment before sighing with relief since she is now out of the rain at least she is kind... much better than wanting to kill on the spot like Daleks or Cybermen.. "What is this planet?" She whispered to herself.

She had a sick cold feeling in the pit of her stomach as the girl simply agreed and got in the car. Well, those were the results Sarah Jane had been hoping for, but she could all to well imagine Chandirra going with the first person who had smiled at her. Thank goodness it was Sarah Jane, and not someone with more dubious goals.
She shut the car door when the girl was inside, and hurried back around to drop into her own seat. Sarah Jane had heated up the car quite well, and she turned the heat up all the way again now, after starting the engine. Then Sarah Jane reached up and turned on the cab light. She gave a reassuring, closed mouth grin to Chadirra. First test.
"Up by your left shoulder, there is a latch on a strap," She pointed. "Pull it down across to your right hip, and it will fit into this socket down here. It's a seat belt to keep you extra safe when you're in a car."
It was a good little car. Sarah's pet. Creamy leather interior, nice warm wood. And, most importantly, seat heaters.

Chadirra watched her get in she listened to her instructions carefully "Up by your left shoulder, there is a latch on a strap," She pointed. "Pull it down across to your right hip, and it will fit into this socket down here. It's a seat belt to keep you extra safe when you're in a car." she looked at her left shoulder then up and saw it. She reached her right hand up and grabbed it, she pulled it and let go to see what it does then pulled it over to her right side and fitted it into the socket, she let go of the strap when she heard a click come from the socket. Then looked up at Sarah.

She figured it out just fine. Alright then, bright enough, and pliant enough that Sarah Jane felt confident to drive her home. She flashed a smile at her.
"That's right." She said, and in a bold move, she took one of the girl's soaked shirt sleeves by the cuff and gently tugged her icy hand close to the heater vent that was blasting warm air "I bet you're freezing. This will warm your hands up."
She flipped off the cab light and pulled back onto the road, windshield wipers working as frenetically as the heater.
"Are you alright? Are you hurt anywhere, Chadirra?"

Avril smiled shyly it faded a little as she gasped when Sarah tugged he hand to the heater vent, the heat felt good so she brought her other hand to it. She shook her head a little, "No.. I'm not hurt.. just.. um sad." She looked up at Sarah, "Where am I?" she said shyly as she looked at her hands, they hurt a little from the cold, but the heat will help.

She pulled easily and confidently onto the dark highway. It would be a ways to get home, but the streets were near empty this time of night."We call it Earth. We call ourselves humans, though there are many Earth species who live here, we're the most extravagant tool users. We're post space flight, but we haven't left our Sun's system yet. Galactic co-ordinates are ten-zero-eleven-zero-zero by zero-two from galactic zero center."
She spared her passenger a glance, though could only see her outline by the light of the dash.
"Chadirra, are you in some sort of trouble?"

Chadirra looked at her hands and pulled them away from the heater, "Earth... never heard of it.." She looked at Sarah rather confidently, " Trouble? Yes and no.. my planet was wiped out when the system star went super nova.." She sat up but kept her gaz on Sarah, "I was one of the few to be off world but.. I was able to hear them." she shook her head, "I have been traveling all over the galaxy to look for a home, then I went to this planet and these Daleks came after me, then I fell through some worm hole and winded up here.. it closed after I fell though.. so they will not be coming here.." She sighed quietly, "I have been traveling for three days now.."

Sarah Jane had so many large and terrible questions for the girl. However, now in the dark when she was cold and wet, was not the time to ask them. She shot another glance at the girl's wan face, then changed the subject.
"Do you eat? Are you hungry?" She said, shocked thinking of how terrible the girl must feel if her food requirements were as close to human as her appearance. What do you need to ingest to fuel yourself. Whatever it is, we should get you some right now."

" Um.. i believe it will be like how you Earthlings do.." she wondered if she said something wrong.. in that sentence, "I mean it should be similar..we have these um cattle that we use for their milk and meat.." She said quickly, "But I am not hungry.."
