Rebbeca had just been recruited into the mysterious world of Torchwood. She had heard rumors they were a group working outside the law, they hunt aliens, or they were too free spirited to work with the regular police. Either way, Rebbeca lost track of the rumors that spread from pubs, to markets, etc. As the twenty year old made her way to the address written down for her, she was a bit confused. There wasn't a door, or even a sign of any kind. "What the hell...is this someones idea of a practical joke?" she muttered rubbing her right temple in frustration. After about twenty minutes, out of desperation, she looked at the strange landmark, "Hello? I was told to ask for Jack or Ianto? Anyone here?" A couple of teens walking by, cellphones in hand, laughed a bit before continuing on their way. Rebbeca did her best not to lash out at them but would have liked to give them a pieve of her mind.

Owen decided to stay in the deep levels of Torchwood. He was down with the Weevils. The man knew Jack was expecting some new member. The dead medical doctor decided to stay away from these new kids. Seeing them made him angry. They were alive and he was dead. He just wanted to keep his space away from them. The loneliness was tiring. He did try to research on Faith and figure how she time travel in her state. Maybe he messed up by damaging his body. It was better he stay away hidden in the sub levels. So, move on without Owen. Unless he was needed they know where to find him.

After a while, Rebbeca noticed what could have been a dry cleaners shop. What was strange though was that no one was going in. Since she was getting no answer, Rebbeca decided to kill some time. She casually made her way over and walked in. The interior wasn't very big, kinda homely. "Hello? Anyone home?" she called out quietly. When she got no answer, Rebbeca glanced around before going to what she assumed would be the back room. To her surprise, there was a metal door. Nothing else, just a door. Curiosity got the better of her, so Rebbeca decided to investigate. She fought with the door for only a minute before she got it open. Looking down she saw a small staircase and an elevator. Since she had nothing to do, she followed the stairs. After stepping into the elevator and hitting the down button, Rebbeca started to feel a tad nervous. It was too late to turn back now though. The elevator stopped and opened up into a hallway. After a minute, she stepped out and started down the hallway. Upon exiting the hallway and stepping into the next room, Rebbeca was amazed. There was extremely high technology there, far more advanced than what she could have even imagined. "Anyone here?" Rebbeca called out before crying out and throwing herself to the floor. She looked up and saw a pterodactyl flying around.

Post by Captain John Hart on May 22, 2011 20:01:50 GMT -5
Even though his side was almost healed, John was still sticking close to the Earth, mostly the hub. He had nothing better to do but the thing with his heart bothered him, he knew there was something wrong with him but he hated doctors well more so since one shot him. So he was saying nothing and went on being his usual self through out of all of this. But it was nighttime when the others had gone home outside of Jack, it was when he let his guard down and let the worry show unless Jack came around to bother him. Then he acted like his old self, more so with coming up with dares and pranks for them to pull when he was able to lure the other captain into it.
John had come up from where he was hiding in the cells to see if there was any action he could get into. He was itching for a fight, anything at this point. He was starting to feel himself go crazy from not being able to really do anything while his side was healing well outside of that thing he had with that Weeping Angel. That was interesting, he was tempted to see if he could find the creature again. Just as he rounded the corner, he heard a voice asking anyone was here.
Okay either the team left the front door open or they were playing a prank with a newbie. Either way, he wondered what was up with the alarm system as it not gone off like it usually does. He walked his way into the main part of the hub, and glanced down at the women on the floor then up at the pterodactyl, which was flying around normal. ”Got nothing to worry about unless someone forgot it's Barbeque Sauce then it might make a snack out of you.” John teased, he still wondered how Jack managed to capture one of those. Dino meat was rather good, long story there but it was tough so he wasn't tempted to make a barbeque out of the flying dino.
”What can, I do for you love?” He asked as he leaned against the wall, looking down at her, trying hard not to laugh at all of this.

Rebbeca was surprised when someone walked over to her. The fact that he was so calm about a LIVING dinosaur made her think he may be a loony but said nothing about it, "Thanks...I'm looking for Jack Harkness or Ianto...I'm Torchwoods new recruit. This is Torchwood isn't it?" She was a tad out of her element, but after seeing the Doctor all those years ago, and how he had vanished in the same night, kind of made it a bit easier to grasp. "Sorry, I'm Rebbeca. Rebbaca Tarks."

John had been around worse things then a living dinosaur. There were things in his life that he had seen and done that would make a person crazy, give them nightmares for the rest of their lives. Besides as long as Myfanwy was feed she was content or unless someone did something to piss her off which was rare. When John had first came here and seen the pterodactyl, he wasn’t surprised by it at all. Seemed kind of fitting Jack would have something running…flying around with his sewer chic.
If she were looking for dangerous that would be Janet, the weevil doing in the holding cells. She… it could easily rip out someone’s throat without a second thought. Then again so could he if he was looking to get more blood on his hands. He never had a problem with a taking a life he wanted to do that. ”Not in at the moment, think you better come back when they are here.” He told her, not in the mood to handle a newbie. It wasn’t his job, he wasn’t even part of the team or at least that was what he kept telling himself.
His blue gray eyes looked down at the dark hair women as she told him her name and he shrugged his shoulders a little. ”I’ll tell the Captain that you stopped by, love.” Not even bothering to state his name, John wondered why Jack was on the sudden hiring spree. Was there something big coming that they needed the extra members for or was he trying to start up a second Torchwood team. Maybe he should tease Jack later about giving him a team.

Rebbeca sighed and crossed her arms, "Listen, I'm supposed to meet Jack or Ianto for an orientation. I got transferred here from England PD. " She then sighed and rubbed her forehead, "Sorry. I've had a rough day. Do you know when they'll be back?" As she waited for an answer, Rebbeca started to wonder if she was even going to see the men she was looking for that day. "IS there anyway you can get ahold of them?"

Owen was getting edgy because he needed to get away from the lower parts of Torchwood. He feared he might start to have some fungus grow in his dead body. The walking corpse had to be careful because he was after all dead.
The option staying at his flat was not the place for Owen. It made him bored. Jack had told Owen to go there many times but Owen refused too. He had gone to his flat when John Hart was pushing Owen’s buttons. Owen knew John Hart was lying in the empty cold cell blocks.
Owen stopped in the corridor near the Hub where John was talking to a female. That must be the new recruit and she seemed to be on the edge. He could hear Myfanwy flying around. The girl seemed to handle that dinosaur well.
The dead man quietly listened from the corridor. He did not have to worry breathing to heavy. The man was dead quiet too now. The medical doctor disliked John and he still did not trust him. There was no place for Owen to go. Too many bad things could happen to Owen like get caught in something and that Torchwood had to come drag his bother (not a bad word) back.
The dead man did not want John to use the girl as a button pusher on Owen. He could hear John taunting Owen on that. But the medical doctor was out protecting Jack. Jack was the only one who could help Owen when things go bad. And plus Jack was like a good friend who he take a bullet for. But he never showed that to anyone. So, he really would not die for Jack but he do almost anything for him. Sigh, did he have attachment on Jack. Is he jealous on John? What if the team does die off? What if its John and Owen? What will happen? Will Jack just leave Owen? God, even Owen feared the next minute he exist.
So, he stayed where he was and waited. Maybe the other kids show up and help John? There was no way Owen going out there. She freak out seeing Owen…stupid Jack and that glove!

Rebbeca was about to go off when she thought she heard someone coming up a set of stairs. "Are you sure you're the only one here?" the dark haired woman asked looking suspiciously at the man in front of her. If someone else was there, she'd love a chance to actually find someone who would give her a clue as to when Jack and Ianto would be back.

"The Captain is on errand," Owen said from the corridor he was hiding. The man did not want to spook her because of his dead zombie appearance.
There are programs out there on Earth that teach people how special and unique they are. Well, Owen discovered that he was one of them and it was lonely.
"We can leave a message to the Captain," he added. She could say she wanted to stay. But Owen was just doing his job. He was the one who was the cranky butt!

Rebbeca was a bit surprised that she couldn't see the person speaking, but just sighed, "Fine...I'll come back later." She glanced around real quick though and noticed a tiny portion of someones shadow on the edge of a corridor. Was that the man telling her about jack? Or was it just something hanging on the wall?

Like a prince returning home, Jack stepped into the Hub. He came through the Tourist Office entrance, proudly flourishing what appeared to be a samurai sword, a thin bladed katana with a jewel-encrusted hilt. Ignoring everyone else in the room, he wandered over to Toshiko's desk and placed it over the keyboard, all the while humming an upbeat number from the 'seventies.
"John, Owen," he said, his signature grin gracing his face as he turned to face the small ensemble. "This is your newest team mate, Rebecca. I'm sure she's told you about herself already."
He began wandering over to the young woman, still speaking. They had met briefly, but this was his first proper assessment of her. His eyes swept over her, trying to figure out how she ticked - how she fought, how she solved problems, how she'd cope with the sexual harassment, what her reaction would be in certain situations, how she could help. Rebecca was another solution to the lack of field numbers, sure, but could she do much else?
"I expect that everyone will treat her properly, though -" he addressed the female "- most of our group is out at the moment. We've had a lot of new recruits in recent months. Bryan, Simon, Gylfie, Daniel - it's crazy."

"Captain Jack, right? Nice to meet you for real," Rebbeca said as the seemingly over eccentric man entered the Hub. "Sorry if my transfer caused any trouble. I wasn't expecting it to say the least," she replied after he explained the recruit status.

Owen stepped up to the work stations to show himself to the girl. “Yea, a new member,” Owen said, picking up the sword. “Oh. Tosh going to like this,” he said carefully pulling the blade out. Looks sharp, Owen thought he was not going to try. He pushed the blade back in.
So Owen turned to look at the female, he offered his hand to shake. He was literally using himself to see how she would pass this test. “Nice,” he said to her. Owen turned to look at Jack. “Good.” He gave the Captain a disgust Owen look.
He walked by Jack, he shot a glare at John because he still had issues with the ex-time agent. He sat down at his computer, started working on a file. He was not in the best moods today. It was Jack keep bring new members in. That was something Owen hated and he had no choice. He was nothing one of Jack’s tools. There was nowhere he could go. So he was stuck unless he found the will to end his life. He side glanced the sword on Tosh’s desk. The thought was there.
