"Aren't you one big ray of sunshine?" Rebbeca muttered as another guy walked into the room and examined the sword. She then looked at Jack and sighed, "So...what kind of work goes on here?"

Post by Captain John Hart on Jun 19, 2011 22:25:32 GMT -5
John didn't know too much about the inner workings of Jack's little team well not so little anymore, it seemed like he was bringing in the stray cats every chance he got to. Maybe this was a sign of things to come, a second Torchwood team. Maybe if he got lucky and proved to Jack things had changed, he could have his own little time. Not that he would want one, then again did he really feel that way? Sure he ragged on Jack for having a team and being in love with this planet but John had seen things and spent enough time here to have his views changed a little.
But after everything and given the way he was, did he want to stick around and be apart of something like Torchwood, could he ever managed to change enough to do something like that. Sure he believed that people couldn't change, that there was no such thing that people would always be the way they were. Then again, John knew better, he had changed, Jack had changed but they were not from this time period, they were different but trying to blend in with this world the well not the best they could but just enough to. ”Well as you can, Jack and Ianto are not around. I haven't seen Eye Candy in weeks.” He said being honest for once.
He wondered if Eye Candy was avoiding him since Jack asked him to stay here, to stick around for a while. Before he could say anything else, the one man that John didn't want to see appeared and he allowed himself to drift back into this thoughts. It wasn't until he heard the alarms going off, telling them that someone was coming in that his thoughts were broken. But he stayed away from the group, lurking for better of terms. His eyes glanced over at the samurai sword that Jack was carrying around, after all John loved swords.
The Katana that John usually had on him was laying down in the cell next to a few of his other belongings that he carried with him at all times. ”Jack.” He returned the signature grin of Jack's and had said his name like he was flirting with the other captain. Before waited until everyone's attention was on the new kid to move over to where Jack had laid the sword down.
His hand reached down and picked up the jewel incrusted hilt and study it. Clearly whoever this sword was made from was from one of the high classes back in that period. Not everyone could afford a sword, let alone on of this style. It was truly a samurai sword and not some alien version of one. John being John knew a lot about Earth weapons, having read up on them in his travels and having that love for weapons. Ignoring everyone as he pulled the sword out from the hilt, resting the center of the blade across three of his fingers, checking out to see how well balanced it was, grinning when he seen and felt how well built the sword was.

Owen moved to his station, sat down on it, cross his hands across his chest and watched the scene unfold before him. “Sunshine,” he replied. “That’s new,” he told her. The medical doctor had tried to keep an eye on the girl and John Hart. Like John, Owen believed that people don’t change. That’s why his guard was never let down when John was around.

"One question...are you always so cheerful?" Rebbeca asked looking at the pale man. She wasn't sure what, but something seemed a bit off about him.

“You die and come back to be a walking zombie. Tell me where the rainbow is. I might go there,” he said being cranky. Jack could not force Owen to like people. It was the way he was trying to make new member hate him. He did not want them to make friends with them. He heard Jack about being immortal. Owen did not want to live in this state a long time and have broken heart of people he let inside his heart. So he decided to be the bitter old zombie. Look and he is the only one in the whole world!

"Is that supposed to scare me?" Rebbeca had seen some pretty strange stuff after meeting the Doctor years ago, not much got to her anymore. "You'd actually be kinda cute if you just smiled a bit."

"So? I mean...couldn't hurt. It was obvious Rebbeca wouldn't stop trying to "help" Owen out of his funk. Sighing though, she looked around and ducked a tiny bit as the pterodactyl swooped a bit, "So, what'll be my assignment?"

The Second Doctor flew through space and time in his Tardis, flipping levers and turning knobs. He finally landed in 21st century London, near Torchwood. Stepping out, he saw a building. Near it, he felt a strange sensation near a certain part of the sidewalk. He almost dismissed it, because of its nature, but instead ran over to it.
He pointed his sonic screwdriver at it, and he was soon zooming underground at a high speed. His yells made it obvious he was there to anyone. He found himself in a strange room, obviously full of alien tech. "Anyone else out there?"

What was that? Rebbeca thought as she heard a semi familiar whooshing sound. "Where you expecting company?" she asked instinctively reaching for the nine-mil on her hip.

The Doctor came to his feet, gazing around the room. It was amazing, for something underground. Cardiff was a favorite of his, though no one had told him about underground alien rooms. "Hello? Is anybody out there? I believe I fell, terribly sorry." he called out.

Post by Derry Abrams on Jul 6, 2011 21:30:13 GMT -5
"Thank you very much!" Derry waved back inside as she made her way off the small planet skipper - then stopped just at the edge of the hatch. "Wait! Wait one second!" She gasped and ran back in, then emerged a moment later putting her ball cap on.
As she stepped into the empty junkyard, the sleek sky-blue craft folded in it's hatch and began to glide soundlessly into the sky. Derry watched until she couldn't tell the difference between the ship and the sky around it, then she looked around the junkyard.
"Hope this isn't what the rest of this rock looks like." She wrinkled her nose and chose a direction at random, heading away from the trash and occasional rotted car and toward civilization.
Earth, She thought as she walked, looking around more often as she reached the streets and buildings of Cardiff. Odd little name for a planet! It sounds more like a name for a pet monkaff... If I had a monkaff I'd name him Oglaf!
Derry came to a busy street and watched the cars going by doubtfully. Vehicles with wheels. Touching the road. Okay, maybe the Ryellans were being kind when they said Earth was low tech. This was practically stone age! After watching the flow for a moment, Derry suddenly dashed across the street with a wild scream meant to restore her enthusiasm in exploring this new planet!
"WOOOOOOOOOOOH!" She hollered, and was answered by a dozen angry honks from the drivers behind her. Happy again, and curious, Derry began to stroll the city streets, occasionally pressing her face up to shop windows and staring at people.
What a relief these people look like me, Derry thought, then laughed, thinking of the ride to Earth and trying to fit into a seat designed for beings who wear cone-shells on their backs. A woman walking past gave her a wary once-over, and she laughed even harder. Lady, you think I'm weird, you should see what just dropped me off!
Derry peeked into the next shop and found it completely empty. The sign said it was a Laundromat, whatever that was. The point is it was empty! No sign it had been open for a long time, either! Perfect. She waited until no one was nearby, then strolled around the building to find a nice private way in. This would make a decent place to spend the night, at least until she was kicked out or found something better!
Digging her pocket-knife out of her bag, Derry used the lite-wire tool to melt the flimsier bits off the lock on the back door, then she kicked the rest of it in. She found a cool room off to the side in the back and threw her towel over the odd hatch in the floor, then settled down for a snack to recharge.

"Oi," Owen said to the hub. "The Captain is somewhere. You new recruits do what you feel to welcome him. I died, I was brought back and still dead. So as being a walking dead man. I am going for walk. Please don't follow me or you will have a Weevil problem." He was cranky and he walked out.

"Sorry to hear it," Rebbeca said as she walked over to where the sound was coming from, "Who're you?" As she rounded the corner and saw an older man standing there looking a bit lost. Her fire arm was pulled out completely and her aim was focused on him, "Who are you?"
