”Who’re you?”
The Doctor heard a voice- female by the tone and pitch –call out. Ah, the eternal question. Answered by millions, asked by the same. Words held power, and identities even more power.
Mentally he stubbornly insisted that he would see her face before answering, when she rounded the corner and pulled a gun on him.
”Who are you?”
She repeated. Who was she, anyways? He would call her Mystery. It made sense. His hand drifted to is sonic screwdriver. He calmly walked forward. “I am the Doctor, and I suppose- as this place looks over level 5 itself –that I am not of human origin.”
A calm smile came to his face as he reached gunpoint. The gun was about a foot from his chest. It was then that the sonic came up and was pointed at the gun. “Please, put that down. Someone might think you have…hostile intentions.” The Doctor said.
It was a complete formality of course, the sonic went off and her gun jammed.

As he stepped closer, Rebbeca tightened her grip on the gun. It wasn't until she heard his sonic go off did she realize who he was, "Doctor? No...you can't be...you look nothing like him..." Though she was talking, it was more to herself than anything. What was hard for her, was that he had a sonic screwdriver, he seemed like the man she knew, but he wasn't.

"Doctor? No...you can't be...you look nothing like him..."
The Doctor raised an eyebrow. Either she was crazy or... "Oh, you must've met one of my future incarnations. Timelords regenerate and change their biology when they become too weak or hurt to keep living. This is my second incarnation. Encouraging to know I don't die." he commented.
He stepped back and lowered his sonic. He offered a handshake, and calmly smiled. "And you would be...?" he asked.

"Rebbeca Tarks. Sorry for the spoiler," she muttered holstering her weapon. Her voice was thickened with disappointment. "How did you get down here?" she asked looking him up and down. Sure he had his sonic, but he was nowhere near the door she had come in.

"Rebbeca Tarks. Sorry for the spoiler,"
The Doctor nodded, his head locked in her direction but his eyes swimming around in exploration.
Rebbeca Tarks. Interesting name. "Good to meet you, Ms. Tarks." he replied.
Spoiler? Not a spoiler at all. I don't even know when or where. he thought. "No harm done. It's not like the universe is going to explode." he said.
The strange thing was, he was dead serious. Injured timelines weren't things to laugh off.
"How did you get down here?"
He sideways glanced at the imperceptible lift. He decided he was going to keep it to himself. He still didn't know the nature of his future meeting with Tarks, but he couldn't take risks.
Of course, his behavior and handling on the situation affected how that would go. If he made an enemy of this Rebbeca, it wouldn't go well. If he made. Her want to kill him... He would be dead. If this was her future and his past, or vice versa, this how he acted in general would affect the timestream. He would affect his past...in his future. It was a complicated and incomprehensible paradox.
He then realized he, in his thinking, had ignored her question. "Oh, I have my ways." he said ambiguously.
The Doctor wasn't willing to let the conversation come to prying, so he came back with his own question. "Where is this? What purpose does it serve?"

"Hell if I know. Just started today. I'm sure sunny over there can tell ya," Rebbeca said pointing her thumb at Owen. As much as he seemed to not like her, she was going to have fun messing with him. "So, which regeneration are you there? I'm guessing...somewhere along the lines of...4th?" The doctor had told her of his several lives when they met in her childhood, but she never knew which one her doctor was.

"Hell if I know."
The Second Doctor smirked. "Of course you don't." he said under his breath, which came out as a garbled "Ok."
"Just started today. I'm sure sunny over there can tell ya,"
She pointed at a man. He looked just about anything but sunny. "I doubt it." he said.
He pondered how to react. "Seeing as I'm an alien, and you're a human with a gun.." he smiled. He lifted up his hands, and moved his two fingers together, and the other two out in a "Vulcan" sign. "I come in peace. Take me to your leader."

After finishing a quick lunch of something that resembled very closely a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, Derry burped and looked around the laundromat... Her new squatter's residence. She began to poke around the corners and crannies of the counter, looking for misplaced change that might give her a clue about the local currency.
Underneath the drawer of an old smashed cash register, she found something else entirely. A camera of some kind! Pointed directly at the spot where she'd just had lunch, and the power light was still on! Derry gave her most charming smile and waved to whoever might be watching, then started to look for more.
After ten minutes of searching, she had found four more eyes in the old building. One over the back door she'd cracked, hidden in the broken alley light.
"I guess this place isn't as abandoned as it seems!" She said to herself and grinned. "Now that's fun, a laundry with a shady side..."
Derry looked around a bit longer, then remembered the hatch she had covered to sit on. What could be under there? She went to the hatch and pulled her towel away, stowing it again in her bag, then began to search for a means of opening it. Derry almost got frustrated and gave up before she noticed the small lever on the side of the counter. Presumably, it was there to operate the dry cleaning rack, but no one ever learned anything new by presuming. Just ask whoever decided to try out the first egg! She pulled the lever, and her eyes lit up when the hatch hissed smoothly open!
Before she could start to think about what she might be getting herself into, Derry grabbed her bag and plunged into the passage below!
"Hellooo!" She called out, knowing there was a good chance anyone inside would already know she was coming. "Is there a landlord I could speak to? Anyone? I want to rent your laundromat!"

Rebbeca nearly died laughing as she saw the ragged old man using the vulcan sign, "N-No offense man...but that hasn't been cool since the eighties." She finally managed to stop laughing and was able to stand up straight, "Now then, how'd you end up in here?"

The Doctor frowned at her rude laughing.
"N-No offense man...but that hasn't been cool since the eighties."
"Neither has that hairstyle, but you don't see me making comments." he retorted.
"Now then, how'd you end up in here?" she asked.
"Didn't I already not answer that question?"

Rebbeca scoffed a bit and looked him up and down, "Says the man dressed like a film out of the seventies. And sorry about the dual question, I was laughing too hard." "To answer your other question though, as far as I can tell, we are in charge of the odd and unusual. Stuff like aliens, other dimensions. Step in anytime you want to sunshine!" she called out to Owen. She knew he hated her nicknames already, but she had too much fun messing with him.
