"Tessa. Tessa." She tried the name a couple of times as her eyes scanned it and it's description. Then she looked up to the Archetype Mark 2, question marks quipping at the delicate corners of her eyebrows.
"Tessa?" She did not want to lead her at all, for in a way, this was still part of Sarah's research into the metal of the girl. Nor was it wise to fuss with a hatching chick. The Camouflage Unit could wait. "What do you think of the name 'Tessa'?"
She should have known the girl could scan through it in those scant seconds it had taken her to fetch the gadget. Luke always could. It still surprised her though.

She blinked twice, confused by Sarah Jane's question. What did she think of the name? she'd been the one to find it right? IT didn't make sense, or it did and the Archetype Mark Two was over-thinking it...probably the latter. Her eyes flickered back to the screen as her finger moved over the on-screen keyboard, typing in several things. She was doing name research, to find more names, maybe combine a few.
She found another one she liked, Lucy....she liked it yes, but not quite as a normal name per-say...more a nickname. She knew about those, knew people had them even if they had short names to begin with. Moving the screen back to Sarah Jane, she moved both names Tessa and Lucy beside each other. 'How can we put these together?" she asked, unsure if there were certain names that ust went together and others that were not supposed to. The redheads attention went to Mr. Smith and a questioning look slipped onto her face. She wanted his opinnion, maybe he could think of something she missed?

When Sarah Jane avoided giving direction, the girl floundered.
"Archetype Two, I know you're very clever, and you're used to figuring things out right away. I suggest though, in regards your name, let some time pass before you choose. At least sleep on it tonight. No matter how clever you are, your emotions work like everyone else.
I tell you this, emotions take more time to process than facts, and emotions can't be rushed. A name is an emotional thing. If you give your heart enough time, it will always point at what you truthfully desire."
For one odd moment, it felt a little like trying to explain things to her younger self, seeing the Archetype Mark 2 sitting there in her old clothing. The girl had chosen the red and white candy striped jumper, it's familiar three stars bold on the bib, the embroidery floss still glossy and new looking.
After the caper in the Nunton Complex Nuclear Reactor, the Doctor had done something to that jumper to make certain it carried no residual radiation. In some way, she always sort of considered that jumper blessed by the Doctor. Good luck. Protection. Sarah Jane would wear them still, for they still fit, but for a woman who had actually reached her "S" years, they were the height of precocity. It made her worry about the girl a little less, as though she were protected. Superstitious silliness, she knew. But it worked, easing her fears about letting someone near her dangerous life.
It was nice to see them worn again, and so appropriately. The Archetype Mark 2 had the bones of a post - pubescent, but her skin was clear and flawless as an infant's, her impossibly fine hair was bright and silky and abundant as a Nursery School child. She'd walked the world for just over a year. Her eyes were so clear, the whites so white as to almost carry a drop of night blue.
"Your heart is right under those stars. When you have made the right choice, you'll feel a goodness there. It will take over night at least though." Now she grinned, gleefully and with a sense of conspiracy, "I like the idea of combining names. It would be unique."

She looked at the Ipad again and fiddled with it till she found out how to shut it off. She looked at Sarah Jane as she explained about emotions, that was interesting, she'd have to wait to figure out what to do to control her emotions as they came to her. For the next little while she'd have to learn, experience everything, it would all be new.
Sarah Jane advised her to go to sleep and think on the name thing. The Archetype Mark Two nodded in agreement. "Ok." she replied. Standing up, she looked at Sarah Jane before asking a question. "Where?" she asked, unsure of where she was supposed to go.

The Archetype Mark 2 was turning out to be a bit of an existentialist, It took Sarah Jane a moment to understand.
"Oh. Yes. You can have Luke's room. He slept up here quite a bit, but he actually does have a room. This is yours," She said, putting her hand on the Ipad. "But I need to fix it up first and put some family safe filters on. I am also going to set it that you cannot 'Post' for now. I'll return it in the morning. Let's save this is for later as well." She explained, slipping the Camouflage Unit back in her pocket.
"I don't mean to be a tease, but if you're anything like Luke, you'll be so curious, you'd stay up all night exploring both of them. That is another thing I am going to ask of you. No electronic devices between 10 pm and 10 am. They don't make you sleepy, and they don't help you wake up. Is it a deal, Archetype Mark 2?"

The Archetype Mark Two nodded slightly in response to the directions. "I know where it is, saw it before on the way up." she replied simply. Sarah Jane was going to put a family block onto her new device, okay that was fine. No electronics after 10 at night to 10 in the morning, odd rule...she'd never done that before so why would she start now?
The redhead looked at Mr. Smith and smiled. "Good night then." she said before turning around and headed for the stairs. She stopped suddenly, finally catching onto the word post. Turning around she frowned a little. "Posts are outside, with the lamps on them.....how do I post on there?" she asked cocking her head to the side a little in questioning. She didn't understand what that even meant, to Post something, you couldn't take a lamp post and stick it into the screen could you? No; you couldn't, it would be too big to fit and far to heavyto even try to lift.
(Oh A2, you're so adorably clueless *hugs character lovingly.*)

Struggling not to smile, she scooped up the Rubic's Cube and went over to the Archetype Mark Two at the top of the stairs.
"I'm talking about a different kind of post." She said, impressed with how deadpan she managed to get that out while still enjoying her inner amusement. Passing the girl in the doorway, she took the lead down the stairs. "The internet is like a library. Posting is like writing in the margins of a book. Or even writing your own book." She looked back at the girl a moment. "I think you should start by exploring and reading the library that the world wide web is, before you start writing in it."
She lead the Archetype Mark 2 to Luke's room, off to the right of the stairs after one came down them. It is a boy's room for certain, a study in blues browns and blacks, with the occasional sprinkling of red and flame accents. It is small, but well laid out with a single bed, a student desk, a closet, and bookshelves that were about 2/3's books, one third boyhood memorabilia. There was a door leading off to a half bath.

She watched Sarah Jane as she took the colourful cube and lead the way to Luke's room, listening to the explanation of what a post was. So there were different kinds of posts then, she'd have to read the dictionary now... defiantly would have to.
She looked around at the room, its blue walls with the darker colours and the bits of red, her eyes caught the red and fixated on it for a moment. She'd seen the colour red when she had first woken up, Mrs. Wormwood had set off some internal alarms that had been kept in place somehow without being noticed. She liked it though, the red, it was the same as her hair was...not the same shade or anything but she knew she was classified as a *redhead* or *ginger* in some cases.
The young girl looked around again, separating her eyes from the bits of red to study the rest of the room: The bookshelf with its books and the things that weren't books, and everything else. She wanted to read the books, sit in a corner and finish all of them....it wouldn't take that long to do. It was late now though and she knew it, though she'd have to change her sleep habits. She had gotten used to *watching* as she'd come to call it, watching Luke in particular during the nights and getting tidbits of sleep if nothing interesting happened or hidden off somewhere during the day when Luke didn't have class or was in a class she had no interest in, which at that time had been all of them.
This was going to be hard to get used to and deep down inside it interested her. Turning to Sarah Jane, she nodded and moved her head around the room to acknowledge the surroundings, unsure of what they were going to talk about next or if she was just going to go to sleep for however long she could force herself to do so. She'd always been able to make her body wake up, but not sleep on command.
Her thoughts went back to the library explanation. "You're not supposed to write in book margins right?" she asked. The Archetype Two felt seh knew the answer but then again, she'd thought there was only one kind of post so she could be wrong about that.

"Oh!" Clever girl. Sarah Jane thought about the question for a moment, then spoke with gentle laughter in her voice. "Archtype Mark Two, sometimes life is all about writing in the margins." She stopped herself, knowing she was being to obscure. "If you find yourself wanting to write in the margins, please just come talk to me about first, just for now.
"There are pajamas in the top drawer, though, they are Luke's so they'll fit you like socks on a chicken. Sleep in them. You've had a big day. If you're not ready to sleep, I recommend this book." From the shelf, she pulled down Luke's leather bound hardback copy of 'Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone', and she put it on the bedside table. "You can read anything you want, but this is a good place to start. I don't want you to feel like you are alone tonight, but I also I don't want you up at 3 in the morning learning Trigonometry. So try this one. Everything in this book is made up. Pretend."
"Archetype Mark Two, I want you to stay here for a while. For a couple of weeks at least. If I let you use this room, and I keep you fed, and get you some clothes, will you stay? You can use Mr.Smith to safely study the world a bit to learn what it is you want to do next. Study anything."
"If you stay, I have to ask you to promise me something. And I want you to promise me that if I tell you to do something and I tell you it is important, and you don't understand it, I want you to try hard to just do as I say anyway. In return, I promise that if I have time, I'll answer any questions you have until you do understand. You are your own person, and if you understand something, well, then, you can make any choice you want, but if you don't understand, I want you to follow my lead. Would you promise me that, Archetype Mark Two? What do you say?"

The Archetype Mark Two looked at the drawer that held the pajamas and listened to Sarah Jane as she explained, as best she could. If she wanted to write in a book she'd have to ask first, there was something more to that statement then the young girl could read into and so, she dropped in in her head for now and focused on something else Sarah Jane had said; something rather odd to her. "chickens don't wear socks." she stated, slight amusement and confusion in her voice. It was an obvious fact wasn't it? It should be...
She looked at the book Sarah Jane had taken down for her, it was a book she'd heard about in passing while on one of her nightly watches. It was supposed to be a good book and she'd managed to filter out most of the conversation except the parts where people compared the movies to books.
The next thing caught her off guard a little, not say she even had an *on guard* to begin with. Sarah Jane had asked if she would obey her instructions even if she didn't completely understand them...yes, she would do as Sarah Jane had told her and for rather stupid reasons, or ones other people would consider stupid. :Yes, I will do as you say." she responded simply. The reason she had agreed, was because Sarah Jane was nice, assured of herself, confident in her choices and very very....wonderful, for lack of a better word. She and Luke were the first nice people the young girl had interacted with. The rest, just random college students who stopped and stared at her when saw her, thinking she was strange for some reason that she didn't know.
She caught it again, something else she hadn't been expecting, the offer for her to stay...no the desire. She was surprised, amazed and mentally, overjoyed. This emotion filtered it way through her little wall and appeared on her face, or rather in her eyes. She wanted to hug Sarah Jane, to cry with what she perceived to be joy and to sit in teh room and think of all the things they could do while she was there, all she would experience and learn. She knew, this was what it felt like to be overly happy, so much so that one wanted to cry from it, she knew the difference. The Last time she'd cried, she'd been scared that she was broken because she was crying and because she'd felt something she didn't know about...she felt guilty for frightening Luke's friends. This was different though, it was a wonderful feeling.
She nodded in response, she'd stay but she didn't trust herself to speak at this point.

It was all in those impossibly clear eyes. Feather light Sarah reached out and chucked the girl under the chin, trying better to catch that gaze with her own. She need only see the Archetype Mark 2's eyes straight on for a heartbeat to know she was crumbling with relief in there.
The look in Archetype Mark 2's eyes was so raw, but the girl let none of it show on her face. The only reason she recognized such a subtle display of emotion was because she'd known a lot of soldiers. Sarah Jane felt a wave of heat and hatred for Mrs.Wormwood for confining her creation's spirit so.
"Hey, hey, it's alright these are days of big changes for you. Aww, Come here." Sarah Jane implored, even as she pulled the girl into a big hug, as much for herself as for this lost soul who had found her way to her door.
"Try not to worry." She said, pressing her temple against the Archetype Mark 2's through their hair as she made sure the girl was good and squeezed.

She looked at Sarah Jane, met her eyes for the time it took for her heart to beat once then the gaze broke soon after. She didn't know what to do, to say, to think and it bothered her a little. Sarah Jane spoke to her then, in a calming voice of reassurance. She then did exactly what the young girl had wanted but not expected, she hugged her.
The girl moved her head a little as tears began to spill from her eyes down her face. She wasn't sad, but happy but she was still crying. She didn't understand why that was happening very well but she allowed it, had to allow it because it wouldn't have stopped even if she had tried to make it. She moved her head to Sarah Jane's shoulder and let herself cry silently before speaking, or rather mumbling. "Thank you." she said, her arms wrapped around Sarah Jane as hers were around the girl.
She was getting tired, she was happy, relieved and most defiantly tired. She hand't been wanting to sleep before, had been to awake to do it, to worried and uncertain. Now however, a huge weight was lifted off her shoulders and it made her want to sleep. Maybe now she could find herself something to do, to learn and adapt the world around her, make friends.
Now she wasn't going to be alone.

She snugged the Archetype Mark 2's head into the crook of her neck gently for a moment, patting the girl's trembling back a bit as she felt the tears come. They held on to each other. The redhead made not a sound. Sarah murmured softly something wordless and comforting. When eventually the girl sagged, she let her loose, tugging the girl to sit down with her side by side on the edge of the bed, keeping in contact with her knee to knee, and keeping a hand on her back.
"Next time, I bet you can cry louder than that." she said with a soft smile, and a bit of sparky challenge in her eyes. She reached over to the bedside table and plucked a facial tissue out of it's box, handing it over to her.
"We have to have a talk if you're still up for one. I don't think it should wait until morning. I need to know what you know about me, so I can tel how much I need to explain to you, and how much I need to warn you. As your target, you must have been given some information on me." A flash of a smile. She patted the girl's back, then let her go. "Feel free to sum it up if you wish, I was there the first time."
She was deliberately cutting the Archetype Mark 2 off from whatever she might have had to say in way of her thanks or her fears. Sarah Jane really couldn't bare to hear it right now. The Archetype Mark 2 did not know it, but she was actually Sarah Jane's captive. She was not faking her care for the girl, that was genuine, but if the Archetype Mark 2 managed to leave, Sarah Jane would follow her. Track her down. Investigate her actions. Secure her.
Though she was nearly convinced that this girl was entirely innocent, she could, unwittingly, still be a booby trap of some kind. If the girl was entangled in such a thing, Sarah Jane would try very hard to free her from it.
Her first commitment was to safe guard Luke. Next in line, planet Earth as we know it. She was astounded to realize that this girl was coming in at a very close third-place right this moment.

She sat down on the bed with Sarah Jane, taking the tissue and whiping her eyes. She looked at the women as she explained that they had to speak about something and it couldn't wait. She nodded and waited for the question.
What did she know about Sarah Jane, what had she been told? Good question. She had to think about that for a few seconds before she could answer. "You are a journalist, you have your friends, that Rani person and Clyde and there used to be someoen mamed Maria, Mrs. Wormwood didn't like them ither.: she explained, hating the fact that she had to mention that women. "You have Luke because Mrs. Wormwood was going to destroy him because she had no use for him and you saved him." she continued. "You all save the world from the Bane and anything else that comes I think....it seems that way at least. Theres a metal dog, and Mr. Smith too." She explained, repeating what little she had known.
Another thing came into her head, a thought she'd blocked out about Mrs. Wormwood. "she said she wnated to take Luke to rule the universe with her...before she left I mean: But nothing about me, She was going to leave me behind you know, and she did and I knew it....but I don't care." she finally said as her eyes moved to stare at her hands.
What else was she supposed to say, she had to know more, was almost sure she did but couldn't think of what it could have been; couldn't remember.

It was a well delivered impromptu report."You are a clever girl, aren't you?" She praised, giving her a pat on the shoulder.
"You're right. My friends and I do what we can to 'save the world'. The trouble is, Archetype Mark Two, is that it's dangerous work. It's dangerous just for you to know me, and be near me, and it's dangerous for you to be in this house. Things happen here. Sometimes they are beautiful, wonderful things, and sometimes they are terrible and dangerous."
"I'll do what I can to keep you safe, but you should know that the longer you stay with me, the greater the odds are that something dangerous is going to happen to you. Anytime you want to go, I can find you somewhere safe. You won't have to ever go back to living like you did before."
"Do you know what I mean when I say 'dangerous? Do you understand what I'm saying?"
