The Archetype Mark Two listened to the sounds in the background and watched the video through the corner of her eyes once more to make sure she got it right...as right as she could. Now the game would begin. She moved her hands in the string like the people in the video had and like the diagram showed. Moving along with Sarah Jane till they reached the end part of hte game... assuming it ended naturally.
The game ended, as it should after some time and the Mark Two looked at Sarah Jane, unsure of what to do next. "It ended." she stated, half announcing it half questioningly as to what would happen next. She looked at the strong and released it back to Sarah Jane for her to do with as she wished and looked at Mr. Smith once more for a brief moment. "It was......fun?" she said, asking at the same time if fun was a good enough describer word.

It felt like the first time she'd really breathed this whole long day. For a moment, everything is easy. A looped string. pretty lights, good music, and a kid who, for at least a couple of minutes, doesn't look freaked out.
"Kiddo, I don't know if you quite know how to have fun yet, but at least you don't look afraid right now. I had fun, thanks for the game." Sarah Jane said, smiling, for it had been fun. Slipping the string into the pocket of her skirt, she fetched the sandwiches and the Rubik's Cube and brought them from the coffee table to the desk nearest the computer. She put the Cube beside the girl's plate.
"Your hands are cold. You need to eat. Come on over and try this sandwich Luke made you. While you do that, you can ask Mr.Smith anything, to show you anything. You can reference anything." Well, anything the non - resident/child filter would let through. Sarah typed that in now, then sat down in front of the plate she'd been eating off of.

The Archetype Mark Two listened to Sarah Jane speak and confirm she too had been having fun. This was a good thing...a great thing that the redheaded girl was rather pleased with that. She walked over and oined Sarah Jane where she sat, taking part of the sandwich and taking a bite.
Finishing her bite of her sandwich, the looked at Mr. Smith. "Who was the girl from before? The one who wasn't at Oxford with Luke, then just was?" she asked the computer assuming it would know the answer. Rani had just popped up there out of no where and it had concerned the girl a little to know people could do that.

Mr.Smith was quiet for a solid three seconds, long enough that Sarah Jane knew the entity did not have enough information. "Use subroutine eleven, download K-9, Oxford report, reference Sarah Jane Smith, Luke Smith."
Colors spun on the screen, then coalesced into a video of Rani Chandra.
"Rani Chandra, neighbor to Sarah Jane Smith. Key participant in nearly a dozen actions along side Sarah Jane Smith and the Bannerman street gang in successful defense of of the cultures of planet Earth. Currant age 19, and now in Hillingdon attending Ealing Hammersmith and West London College majoring in English . Friend to both Sarah Jane Smith and Luke Smith. At one time Rani Chandra was the only woman on Earth."
This video plays silently on Mr.Smith's screen as he relays this information.

She waited for a few seconds as Mr. Smith did not respond. Sarah Jane spoke, giving Mr. Smith instructions for certain things to look for, to reference to. The question wasn't that hard was it? No, it wasn't because after Sarah Jane spoke Mr. Smith knew what to look for. She hadn't given enough information, but how could she have, she hadn't known any more then what she'd ask about.
She listened carefully, Rani, the girl's name was Rani. That cleared that up. "Only women on Earth?" she asked, confused. You couldn't be the only women on Earth, it wasn't possible. Everyone came from somewhere, from someone..or most people did, Even she and Luke had because the Bane had taken DNA from people to make them, they came from the DNA of those people who had come into the factory. So how was it, that one person could be the ONLY women on Earth, it didn't make sense.
"How?" she finally asked, not thinking of anything else to say. After asking her next question, the Archetype Mark Two picked up her sandwich and ate some more of it.

This time, Sarah Jane interrupted her Super Computer before it could answer.
"Mr.Smith. Storytelling mode."
And Mr.Smith began to tell the tale.
"Once Upon A Time, there was was an extra-dimensional alien who was called The Trickster, a powerful entity from the Pantheon of Discord, who were banished from the known universe. The Trickster finds Earth a treat, and makes bargains to alter history in his attempts to draw power from the chaos he creates and thus enter this world in his full power.
Every time the Trickster tried his tricks somewhere in this age, Sarah Jane and her friends have been there to meet him and to foil him. She has become his greatest enemy.
The Trickster came into the possession of a slave. It was a small creature known as a Graske from the distant planet of Griffoth. They are able to transmat through time and space, stealing people and taking their place in the world, in their life, pretending to be them. You can tell disguised Graske because sometimes their eyes glow green."
While Mr.Smith told his story, pictures appeared of the Trickster and the Graske, of Luke with Sarah, and Clyde with Rani. Then this video played in the background with the sound turned down very low, and each character carefully marked by name.
"The Trickster used the Graske, who then looked like a young human boy, to lure Sarah Jane and Luke through a time rift into 1951; to go there, and to take the Graske with them. By letting the Graske in to Earth's plane, 1951, the being was left to ravage all of London. This created a new time line where Sarah's friends Clyde and Rani were trapped, the only ones left alive. Perhaps Rani was not the last woman on Earth, but surely she was for hundreds of miles. I apologize for the confusion, I accessed some of Mistress Chandra's writings to accent my report."
"It's quite all right. It was a lovely report, both of them.. Nice work Mr.Smith." She said, licking mustard off the side of her pinkie.

She looked at Mr. Smith and at Sarah Jane as the older women told the computer to do a story telling mode. It was interesting and rather fun to hear. The super computer said it had used some of the girl Rani's writing to make the story better. The Archetype Two put her hands together and beamed "That was cool, your good at that and the Rani person is a good writer." she complimated.
The lego video went on in the background and caught her attention. "Lego?" she asked, wondering why a lego video was playing, still amused all the same. "So....what now?" she asked, turning to Sarah Jane. What were they going to do next, what would they talk about next. "People can time travel." she half asked half stated.
People could time travel, a fact she had just learned and it HAD to be true, Mr. Smith had said it so it must be correct....right?

It was a simple question with a complex answer. Her face struggled a moment, then she smiled and said.
"Yes. Humans are, by their very nature, time travelers. Listen to your heart beating. Look at me sitting with you now. We are time traveling. Humans travel through time at one second per second. Different species have different ways of experiencing time. All sorts of different ways. The only way for a human to travel through time other than one second per second" She breaks into a wide grin now, "Is to hitch a ride."
Then she grew serious.
"Archetype Mark Two, you're going to have to figure out what happens next. This is your life. I'll honestly tell you that I'm not entirely certain that you are not a danger to Luke, or what interest the Bane may show in you yet. I have to make sure Luke is safe, but as soon as I do, we'll figure out what you want in your life right now, and I'll try to help you get it. Okay? What sort of life do you want to be living, Archetype? Have you ever imagined that?"

People could travel through time, amazing, imply amazing. But what did Sarah Jane mean hitch a ride? That made little sense but the Archetype Mark Two would not allow it to bother her at this point. She was having fun and nothing could ruin it for her, nothing in the universe.
Something caught her off guard a little, Sarah Jane thought she might still be a danger to Luke, was she right? No, that question shouldn’t have even crossed her mind should it have? She and Luke were the same; he was the only other person like her and if he were gone…she’d be alone, truly alone even if there would be people around her. What did the Bane have planned, were they interested in her still? :I don’t know.” The Mark Two replied simply, unable to think of any better answer. She didn’t know if the Bane were after her or not, or if the rest of the Bane even knew she existed.
She looked at Sarah Jane again. Stared at her and thought, it was her choice what to do next because it was her life, no one else’s. What did she want to do with her life? That was a good question. Her fingers traced the pattern of the table as she thought, over and over again repeating the pattern. Had she ever thought about what she wanted to do…not really. She’d been too busy following Luke around Oxford to think about it. She hadn’t even known her life was her own till a few hours prior, when she and Luke had reached Sarah Jane’s house. She shook her head in reply, she hadn’t thought about it.
A thought struck her, Rani was Rani, the one called Clyde was Clyde, Sarah Jane was Sarah Jane...obviously, but…she was no one, but everyone at the same time. The Archetype Mark One was his own person, he was Luke Smith, the boy the Mark Two looked up to and held complete trust in for as long as she could remember, since she’d first seen him….So who was she? “Who am I?” she asked, looking at both Sarah Jane then at Mr. Smith.

It was in these moments that the Archetype Mark 2 withdrew into herself that Sarah Jane could observe the girl without being observed in turn. There was something very wild about her, but skittish kind of wild, like a doe. The girl's question grabbed her heart.
"Who am I?"
Most uncharacteristically, Sarah Jane held her tongue and thought for a moment. Then she realized that she was holding back because she remembered that the Archetype Mark 2 had no cliche ideas about what her question was referring to. In a way, it was a little bit like talking to an Alien. You couldn't presume anything.
"That is a big question, young lady. Perhaps you should tell me more about what you're asking."
Sarah Jane burped delicately into her napkin and sat back in her chair, satisfied and intrigued. Waiting. Listening.

She waited as Sarah Jane was silent for a moment or two, waited for an answer. The one she got however was a bit of a surprise. Sarah Jane didn't know what she was referring to? That meant she had worded it incorrectly. The Archetype Mark Two thought for a moment, considering how to word it or explain.
“You are Sarah Jane, Mr. Smith is Mr. Smith and the first Archetype is also Luke….so who am I also?” she asked, hoping that would clear it up a bit. “I’m everyone but at the same time no one at all….” She finished in a sort of quiet voice.
It was true, Sarah Jane was Sarah Jane Smith, the amazing women with the super-computer and the second person she’d ever fully communicated with. Her predisessor, the Archetype Mark One was also Luke Smith and the Super-Computer was Mr. Smith so who was she? She was the Archetype Mark Two, a backup plan for the Bane’s use…the girl without a purpose, the one who hadn’t had a life beyond observing Luke till this very day. It had been her job to watch, strike when Mrs. Wormwood commanded but, she had gone away in that portal hole thing. The Archetype Mark Two had continued to follow Luke, see what he did for almost a year simply because she didn’t know what else to do with herself.

Sitting up in her seat, she reached out carefully to catch the Archetype Mark 2's hands in her own.
"When I asked K-9 to look for the Bane with his on board instruments, he read a few aliens nearby, K-9 did not detect any Aliens close enough that he could have been reading you. Do you understand? You're entirely human. Not only that, but we're all start with 64 chromosomes. You and every other human. I don't want you to ever feel less than anyone else."
If the Archetype 2 allowed Sarah Jane to hold her hands, she hold them warmly, but be ready to let go the moment the girl shifted to let go.
"However, your experience of humanity and living is different than any other human. Who you are and how you got here is going to give you great challenges and great rewards. One of the positives about being an Archetype is that you get to choose your own name. Nobody else really does. Not the name they grow up with. Everyone else has that chosen for them, like it or don't like it. You, however, Archetype Mark 2, get to choose your own, very human name." She can feel herself smiling, for it feels like giving someone a gift.
"Your name is whatever you want it to be. Don't choose too quickly. Unless, somewhere in you, you already know what is." And with that, she pressed the Archetype 2's hands back on to her own knees, planning to let go and settle back into her own chair.

She felt something on her hands and looked, to find Sarah Jane's hands on hers, holding them. She didn't move, didn't try to release herself from it, this was probably something normal so she better get used to it! she mentally ordered herself.
Sarah Jane explained that, she was human, just like the others on Earth but was made a different way. This made her special didn't it, yes it did. The Archetype Mark Two looked at Sarah Jane as she explained that, unlike most humans the she would get to choose her own name; and did she have any ideas? No, she didn't, she wished she did but she didn't not really.
A thought struck her, there were books with names in them she could look at. "Is there a name list?" she asked Sarah Jane, looking up at her.

""Is there a name list?"
A low chuckle escapes Sarah Jane.
She has let go of the girl's hands, and stands, speaking as she takes the step up to the desk. "Archetype Mark Two, books about names are some of the best sellers in the world. There are hundreds of them." She plucked up her new Ipad, and returned to sit by the girl on the couch. "Watch." She turned it on, got online, and brought up a website about names. "This thing is like a little Mr.Smith."
Sliding it in front of the girl, Sarah Jane found herself smiling hugely. This, above all else really, was something she always loved doing. Helping people.
"And, it's a gift. For you." This reminded her she had not quite returned the Cube to her, and she slid this across the table as well, until it tapped gently against the side of the Ipad. "This is really yours as well.", she said, fairly certain the girl was too timid to claim it.
It was now that Sarah Jane was realizing that she could not just send this girl back out into the world as she was. The future was uncertain, but Sarah Jane knew she was going to have a house guest for at least a couple of weeks. Whatever happened next, she did not intend to send the girl off into the world empty handed.
"I have one more thing for you, something to borrow." She said, her smile fading a little. She went to the desk, and pulled out the Camouflage device. It fit neatly into her hand. It's tiny working screen was surprisingly not unlike an Ipad, and intuitive to use, if you had any idea what it did. She was most solemn as she set the little Alien thing between them. It looked sort of like a compact television remote with a screen.
She looks at the girl most fiercely, but only because she is not looking forward to the next part of their conversation. Why? Sarah Jane suspects deep down, that she shouldn't ever let anyone get close to her. It was too dangerous. She should send the Archetype Mark 2 away. On the double. She wasn't going to, though.

She looked at Sarah Jane as she stood up and walked over to the desk, only to return with something she referred to as a mini Mr. Smith. This intrigued the girl as it was set in front of her and her cube slid next to it. They were hers, that meant they belonged to her....just like her life. She was then given something else, to borrow; she knew what that word meant, it meant the items was hers but she'd have to give it back later on when Sarah Jane wanted it.
She looked at the Ipad for a second, at the website that was on the screen and put her hand on it, moving the list up and down as she read it. After a few seconds, she found one, one she liked and clicked it, making the name larger on the screen. She nodded to herself and turned it over to Sarah Jane for her to see and put in her opinion, and maybe for Mr. Smith to give his too....if he wanted. A part of her wanted the computer to add something in, he was being very quiet and she was not too fond of that fact.
On the screen of the Mini Mr. Smith, the name Tessa was present. She liked this name.
