The Doctor slept for a bit, he didn't dream a lot so it was different for him when he dreamt. He dreamt about his assistants, all of his friends. Then he dreamt about a family on his planet, they were planning on sending their child somewhere. They decided to send the child to Earth to live with a family of humans. In the dream he was listening to the conversation of them discussing sending their children away to Earth.
He awoke which stopped the dream from continuing. When he tried to think about it he couldn't remember too much of it. "Hm why does that child look familiar?" He whispered to himself. He walked into the kitchen to get some water.
After he'd drunk it, he went back to the couch. Going to sleep again he dreamt about traveling the Universe with Melissa and how good a friend she'd be. This time he slept like a baby. Reply Edit . Report Abuse . Ban User . Delete Post .«Jan 18th 2010, 8:21am #65

Melissa sat at the table eating her breakfast.
Most of her other roommates liked to sleep in for as long as possible, so she didn't expect any of them to be up for another couple of hours. She didn't know how long the Doctor would sleep....but she couldn't resist checking on him. She quietly approached the living room. Reply Edit . Report Abuse . Ban User . He was asleep sprawled out on the couch.
He woke up, stretched and looked up, Melissa was looking at him. He turned his head and smiled wearily, scratched his head which was sprawling scruffy hair. "Hey, how are ya?" He asked in a very tired voice.
He sat up, a bit too soon and felt a little dizzy. "Is this how you're suppose to feel in the morning? Tired and wanting more sleep?" He asked rubbing his eyes. Reply Edit . Report Abuse . Ban User . Delete Post .«Jan 18th 2010, 8:36am #67

Melissa laughed at him.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to wake you up. I just got up myself not long ago....and I wanted to check in on you. I'll let you get back to sleep. I'm sure my roommates probably kept you up late. I normally go to bed before them and get up before they do. Sometimes they stay up until 5:00 in the morning."
"It doesn't look like you slept very well last night either. Sorry about the sleeping arrangements. You could have slept on the futon, but that's okay."
She laughed again.
"Well, I wouldn't say you're supposed to feel tired and wanting more sleep. That only happens if you get too much sleep, not enough sleep, or if the sleep that you did get wasn't good quality -- as in you kept waking up."
"Oh, just get back to sleep. I'll be in my room. Just knock on the door when you're ready to go shopping. I have some things to do." Reply Edit . Report Abuse . Ban User . Delete Post .«Jan 18th 2010, 8:46am #68

"It's fine, I'll sleep here. I don't really sleep a lot so that's why I'm not use to it." He laughed. He curled up again and fell asleep.
When he woke up again, he felt a lot better. Though when he got his focus back all of the girls, excluding Melissa, were looking at him. They stepped back when they saw he was awake. Sitting up he waved at them. "Hey, how are ya?" He asked stretching.
"We're fine thanks." All of them answered at the same time. He smiled glad to see they were all ok. Getting up he walked over to get some breakfast. The girls went back to what they were doing.
When he was finished, he knocked on Melissa's door. She opened the door and he grinned at her. "So," He said walking in, "do you have another plans as well as shopping? Or do out want to go somewhere else while shopping? I'm not really fussed." He asked trying to think if she was planning anything.
He sat on her bed. He wouldn't have minded just them walking around but he wondered if she was busy. Reply Edit . Report Abuse . Ban User . Delete Post .«Jan 18th 2010, 9:04am #69

Melissa looked up when he came in. She couldn't help but smile at him.
"Hey, I'm glad to see that you're up."
Melissa was sitting at her desk, and she was typing something at the laptop.
"I was just chatting online to my brother. His birthday's coming up, and so I was trying to think of what I could get him."
"I don't have any other plans.....I'm open to anything. Maybe we could get something for my brother while we're out. Let's see -- we could go to the mall. There are other places we could go as well. There are several state parks around here, as well as some community ones. All of them have walking trails. There are a lot of things we could do. If you want to do something in addition to shopping, just name something. As long as it's not too far away, I'd be glad to take you there. If you wanted to, we could even go to my house -- my parents house. It's a couple hours away, but there are some fun things to do in my home town. I haven't been home in a while. It's all up to you and when you wanted to go back to your ship." Reply Edit . Report Abuse . Ban User . Delete Post .«Jan 18th 2010, 9:20am #70

"It'd be nice to walk around somewhere quiet together...if you want?" He said shuffling his feet, he blushed a little and desperately tried to hide it by looking down. "We could get something for your brother and when I get back to my ship I could get you to your parents place faster." He smiled trying to sound impressive.
"I'll let you get back to your conversation with your brother. Just tell me when you're ready to go. Oh and happy birthday to your brother." He walked out of her bedroom.
Going back to the couch he continued reading the book. Sophie then came to sit next him. He looked up and smiled at her.
"So what were you planning on doing today?" She asked smiling back.
"Oh I was going to out to help Melissa with finding a present for her brother." He answered, he didn't want to tell her anything else than that.
"Cool, so do you know much about her brother?" She asked trying to get to know The Doctor a little more.
"Well...uh...yes, I do. He spoke highly of Melissa and it's a coincidence that I now know her too." He answered lying but sounding definite. She didn't ask anything more and walked off. He presumed that she wasn't interested in knowing any more. Reply Edit . Report Abuse . Ban User . Delete Post .«Jan 18th 2010, 9:36am #71

Several minutes later Melissa emerged from her room.
"All right, I'm ready," she announced to the Doctor.
To her roommates she simply told them, "The Doctor and I are going shopping for a while. We'll be back later today."
She grinned at the Doctor.
Melissa grabbed her purse and looked back at the Doctor to see whether or not he was following after her. Reply Edit . Report Abuse . Ban User . Delete Post .«Jan 18th 2010, 10:13am #72

He quickly followed after her, grinning back.
"So, where he exactly were we going again?" He asked wanting to establish the plans. It was sunny out and he liked the way everyone was out enjoying it. He was glad he'd asked to go somewhere quiet because it was such a lovely day.
He realised from reading he still had his glasses on. He quickly took them off. Glancing around he saw a lot of couples about. It was nice to see them enjoying themselves. He looked at Melissa for a second.
'I wonder if she knows if she finds me attractive? Probably not. Humans have fallen in love with me but I hardly think she'd fall for me.' He thought, he then discovered he was still looking at her. He reverted his eyes. Reply Edit . Report Abuse . Ban User . Delete Post .«Jan 18th 2010, 10:29am #73

Melissa smiled back at him. They had headed out of the door without saying much. She didn't want to comment on what he had said earlier until they were out of the apartment.
Turning to him as they walked, she answered him.
"Well, we will be going to the local Goodwill store. It's a store where people sell their used clothes and other items. The items are then sold at a very cheap price. But I was thinking that before we go there we might want to do the other stuff first. That way we're not carrying around the clothes. That would look kind of odd. The store is not very far, so I figured we could walk."
"I was thinking we could go to a park or something and walk around for a little -- and maybe talk. It's such a beautiful day. You'll have to let me know if there's somewhere else you want to go. The nature trails on the parks are usually quiet. Oh...and thanks for the offer of taking me to my parents' place in your ship. That's a good idea. I'd like you to meet my family."
Melissa had noticed that he was watching her. She tried not to read much into it -- she didn't want to be disappointed.
"It's nothing. He's just looking at me because there's no one else around....and he was talking to me." Reply Edit . Report Abuse . Ban User . Delete Post .«Jan 18th 2010, 10:43am #74

"OOOOH PARK! I LOVE SWINGS! Uh sorry I got a little excited there." He said calming himself.
"In the UK they have Charity shops very similar to your Goodwill store." He pointed out. They walked for a while caught up in their own thoughts.
They then got to a nice little park. There weren't many people walking. Most were sitting down or playing games. The ones playing the games were children but adults played with them. He looked around in awe. The trees were heavy with leaves and the grass was particularly green.
"What do you think your friends think of me? They ask a lot of questions consisting of you and I." He said smiling. "Not that I mind but they are very anxious though." He added to make sure she knew he didn't mind too much.
"Also your parents...tell me about them. I want to know a little about them before I meet them. I haven't always been successful with parents, especially the mums that slap. Of course they were all from England and not everyone takes happily to an alien who takes their daughter around the Universe in a time machine." He said rubbing his face where all the mums had slapped him in the past. Reply Edit . Report Abuse . Ban User . Delete Post .«Jan 18th 2010, 11:00am #75

Melissa smiled at him.
"There's a trail that starts behind the picnic shelter," she explained, pointing in the right direction.
As they walked towards it, she answered his questions.
"I think my friends really like you. I.....I think they like the idea of you being here because....because they know that I haven't had a boyfriend. They seem to think that you'd be perfect for me. They all know that I've never really had a boyfriend before, and I think they just are anxious to me be happy with someone. They know I don't need a guy in order to be happy, but you know how friends can be....they want to match me up with someone."
Melissa looked around. They were on the trail now.
She smiled. "Well, what would you like to know about my parents? I guess I'll start by saying that they're still together....they've been married to each other since several years before I was born. I'm lucky to have had both of them. So many of my friends grew up in broken homes. They're loving people, and I don't think they'd slap you. I think that they'll like you, although I wouldn't suggest telling them that you're an alien right away. I don't know how they'll take that.....but I don't like the idea of lying to them. They've never slapped anyone that I know of."
(What kind of job do you think her dad should have. It could be a common job or one that is important. It has to be something that would make sense for her real dad to run into him during his work in intelligence. If it's a common job, then maybe her real dad just happened to run across him in an every day situation. If it's an important job -- perhaps her human dad could have also worked with intelligence -- like CIA or the FBI or military intelligence or something. He could also be a scientist or a professor at a college. Have any thoughts on that? As for her mom...I was thinking of having her be a professor at a college. What do you think?) Reply Edit . (Having the dad being in FBI or CIA would be interesting. Since UNIT are pretty close with both he might know of The Doctor. Also The Doctor will have a bit more to talk about if he was part of that. It'd be interesting to see.)
When they got to the trail he held his arm out for hers to link through it. "May I accompany you ma'am?" He asked jokingly.
"Oh I see. So they think that we'd make a nice couple. Well friends aren't just looking out for there friends but friends also could know exactly whats right for you. Perhaps they know they we'd be happy together...but like you said friends are looking to help you and sometimes they just want you to be matched up with someone." He said.
He definitely wanted to see her reaction to that.
"You're right. It's unfortunate when people's parents or themselves fall out. A lot of recent people I knew, their parents had either split up or one of them had died. It's very sad to see something like that but I can't imagine how awful it is for them to experience it." He said thoughtfully, he looked quite wistful. "Still, it doesn't always end up like that." He added snapping back to life.
"What sort of jobs do your parents have? What do they have an interest in? For example what music they like or what type of films they enjoy." He asked.
"I wasn't really planning on telling them I was an alien just yet." He whispered. He held a finger to his lips to give a sort of secretive vibe. Reply Edit . Report Abuse . Ban User . Delete Post .«Jan 18th 2010, 12:04pm #77

(I don't know if it would be a good idea for the dad to know who the Doctor is...because then they'd know what he was -- they'd know he was a Time Lord, and so they'd probably ask him some questions, and might want to tell him about Melissa. We could have him work for either FBI or CIA as long as he hasn't heard of the Doctor.)
Melissa just smiled as the Doctor took her arm. Although she knew he was joking, she had to admit that she really liked the feeling of her arm in his.
Melissa's face grew slightly red when the Doctor made the comment about her friends.
"What does he mean?"
"Yes.....friends do know sometimes what's right for their other friends. Perhaps they would know we'd be happy together.....what did he mean by that...I'll just restate it. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to put you in that position with them. I should have told you that they might act like that. They've been wanting me to be matched up with someone for a while."
She looked at him, her thoughts going to how nice it would be to really be matched up with him.
"It would be hard to have parents split up, but somehow people get through it. Still, it wouldn't be something I would want to choose for myself. And no, it doesn't always end like that. I know plenty of people who still have their parents together, just like me. "
"My mom is a professor at a local college back home. She teaches math. My dad....he works for the CIA. As for music, they mostly listen to classical instrumental music. The movies they watch are usually PG 13 or under. My family doesn't really watch a lot of violent or sexual movies. We like clean comedies, adventure movies, science fiction, basically anything that is good quality. We don't like trashy stuff with sexual innuendos. My mom especially likes movies where the character changes or grows throughout the movie. You know what I mean? Like maybe at the beginning the character is selfish, but by the end of the the movie, that character is loving."
Melissa smiled. "Good...I don't think it would be a good idea to tell them you were an alien," she whispered back. Reply Edit . Report Abuse . Ban User . Delete Post .«Jan 18th 2010, 12:36pm #78

"Oh no. It's fine your friends are nice and friendly." He laughed.
"Teaches math, math is good. Your dad works for the CIA wow. I'm not all into that violent or innuendo film rubbish. Comedies are usually good, as long as they're done cleverly. I like romances when they're meaningful. Character progression in a movie is always interesting to see." He said smiling.
'It's going to be interesting to meet them.' He thought.
He saw that he blushed when he talked about the whole friend thing. He just smiled at that human response.
(You're right it'd be a bit weird if her dad knew The Doctor.) Reply Edit . Report Abuse . Ban User . Delete Post .«Jan 18th 2010, 12:50pm #79
