ArwenMUC
Name: Melissa
Gender: Female
Age: 27
Species: Will start out human at the beginning, but will be Time Lord later on
Era: Um.....current year....around 2010
Looks: very dark brown hair, brown eyes, slender...and no equipment
Other Info:- seminary student from the United States
My character's father had held a special sort of intelligence position for the Time Lords. Before the Time War was declared a war...or when things were looking a little iffy, my character's father was sent to investigate rumors regarding Dalek activity on another planet. He intercepted a message from the Daleks of their war plans. He and my character's mother decided that there eleven or twelve year old daughter would be safer on another planet. He met with a human couple that he had gotten to know on a previous mission for Gallifrey. My characters parents trusted this human couple, and so they had my character become human and be protected. My character's parents decided that they would get my character once things were safe, and have her become a Time Lady again. However, the war did not go well...and of course Gallifrey was destroyed and everything. This meant that my character's parents never came back for my character. It would probably be best if my character remain human for a while before finding anything else out.
Also, let me add in a human bio information:
Since my character won't know anything about being a Time Lord, the history that she will "know" is that she and her family moved from Indiana to Ohio when she was 12. Around the time of the move, her mother (the wife of the man who knew her real Time Lord father) had a daughter named Amanda. A couple years later she had a son named Mark. This will mean that my character has a younger sister and brother...but this is part of her adopted family. As I said before, she's a seminary student...and there we go. My character knows nothing about the Doctor or Time Lords or aliens or anything.

ArwenMUC (sounds awesome....I'd love for someone to play the Doctor. Hmmm...well I'm just going to go ahead and post.) Melissa sighed as she opened her car door to once again prepare for the start of another week of classes. She needed to hurry up or she would be late. Fortunately for her, the seminary campus was only a few minutes away from where she lived. She preferred to take the back roads, though she knew that it took a couple minutes longer. It wasn't that she minded the campus itself -- it was truly breathtaking. A medium sized pond was situated at the edge of the campus. Melissa had spent a good part of the summer sitting on the benches surrounding the pond, reading a book or just relaxing. The fall semester had just started two weeks ago, and now the campus was a lot more crowded than it had been in the summer. Melissa had enjoyed the peacefulness of the summer terms. Not as many students took summer classes, and she had decided to take both summer terms so that she could graduate faster. She had sat on one of the benches, underneath a particular tree by the pond. Another of her favorite spots on the campus were the gardens. The maintenance staff kept the campus looking nice, and they also looked after the gardens. Melissa loved flowers, and she loved watching things grow. She had a couple of flower gardens back home. She especially liked certain kinds of annual flowers. There was a small stream that ran behind one of the gardens, emptying into the lake. A walking trail also bordered the garden. Melissa loved walking the trails on campus. There were usually not many people around, and she loved looking at nature. This trail led all the way around the campus. Some parts of it were nicer than others, but it was beautiful at any time of year. The trail next to the garden began with a small footbridge that went over the stream. One of Melissa's favorite spots along the trail was a picnic area. There were only a couple tables, but it was a nice spot to just stop and rest. She'd even taken some food with her sometimes to eat lunch there. There was also small gazebo situated between the pond and the garden. Lastly, there was a fairly good sized wall that surrounded the entire campus. The student body was fairly small. Approximately 1,000 students attended the school, so it was not difficult to recognize many of the other students. Of course Melissa still didn't know everyone. Some of her old friends had graduated the spring before, and there were new students that came this year. She hadn't gotten to know very many of them yet. In proportion to the student body, the campus itself was not large. There was a chapel, some resident halls (it was frowned upon to call them dorms, though that's what they were), a cafeteria, a library, a campus center with a mail room, an administration building, and several classroom buildings. It only took a few minutes to walk from one end of the campus to the next. As Melissa pulled her car into an empty parking spot by the mail room, she glanced towards the pond. She had brought her lunch with her, so she was hoping to have a picnic lunch. However, she had to make it through her morning class first. She glanced at the clock in her car and was relieved to see that she was not late. She rushed out, grabbing her backpack from the seat next to her. It did not take her long to make her way to the door to the classroom. After the class was over, Melissa stepped out into the hallway. Her classroom happened to be on the second floor. The particular building that her morning class was in was one of the older ones. There were several floors. Stairs lead to each level, and these stairs were located at the ends of the building. The view from the windows looked out onto the campus below. Melissa slowly made her way into one of the corridors. Reply Edit . Report Abuse . Ban User . Delete Post .«Jan 12th 2010, 11:18am . (oh.....and about how old is the 12th Doctor supposed to look? I'll need to know that for my character when she meets him.
Another thing....I forgot to mention it in the character bio -- Melissa's parents made her human using the chameleon arch thingy....so she has a watch like the Doctor and Master had. Reply Edit . Report Abuse . Ban User . Delete Post .«Jan 12th 2010, 12:07pm . Edited Jan 12th 2010, 12:25pm #5

(Wow, very nice...I WANNA GO THERE!)
I small noise sounded out like 1000 elephants, it was getting louder and louder. Now it was outstandingly loud, as if was a scream. When it reached its full potential the noise began to fade and fade until there was no way for the human ear to hear it. This sound wasn't for no reason, the blue box that faded in and out during that particular wailing had now full materialised. Out stepped a rather skinny, young man with a bright beam on his face.
His shoes were plain black trainers with black laces, he was wearing clean, blue jeans; that weren't tight or loose they were just right, a white shirt with the sleeves rolled up created a perfect formal just relaxed look for the man, he wore a lovely purple tie that wasn't tight to the top; it hung a little but not sloppily. He had slightly longish jet-black hair that seemed to go just over his ears; it seemed to have this tousled looked about it. His eyes were a deep, dark brown and he had big, beautiful eyes; they seem to glisten. He had a little beauty mark on the right side, above top his lip. He had a rather skinny nose but that wasn't a bad thing. He had a smile that could easily melt marble.
He had a swaying walk and had his hands implanted in his pockets. His grin only seemed to get bigger. Walking slowly and relaxed, taking his time but not taking forever. He looked at a pond, a parking lot and a mail room near him, he slowly realised he was on a campus.
"Hmmm, I knew I was in America but didn't know a campus...this is different...STILL brings me back to the days I was at school." The man babbled to himself. Continuing on through the campus he noticed a cafeteria, a library, an administration building, and classroom buildings. He seemed to be walking for a while, when he randomly stopped outside one classroom building, which wasn’t too far from the mail room he had seen before. He then stepped back to get a better look.
“Hold on, I’m going ‘round in circles!” He exclaimed. Realising that he turned around and shook his head laughing. He held his head high and began walking again but in a stride.
He stopped, again, to hear a teacher talking to students, he couldn’t hear what she was saying but it was definitely being taken in by the students. He decided to listen in, so he got a stethoscope and held it to the window for better hearing. She seemed to be talking in great length about...a trip to Australia she’d been to recently. The man frowned looking rather irritated.
“So, teachers these days ramble on about their own adventures rather than teacher...not too much of a surprise.” He said sighing; he obviously thought something interesting was going on, but was sadly wrong. A second later he looked up to see a very angry looking teacher staring down at him with her arms crossed.
“Well, their strictness hasn’t changed much.” He mumbled to himself. Suddenly, two men dressed up that looked like security guards ran over and the man bolted away in a flash. Running very quickly up into a different classroom building the man realised that classes were over and people were coming out. The guards didn’t slow down or stop but ran after the man; he weaved through the crowd of students. The guards had lost track of this man but he decided to duck down behind a bin. 10 good minutes later his head popped up and there seemed to be no trace of anyone there...except a surprised looking young girl who stared at the man behind the bin.
He went over to shake the girl’s hand. “Oh hello! I’m The Doctor,” He grinned still shaking the poor girl’s hand. He suddenly pulled her close and whispered “are those two big, angry men gone yet?” She looked at him in bemusement and nodded. “ALRIGHT THEN! THAT’S GOOD!” He exclaimed grinning from ear to ear.

ArwenMUC (I'd still like to know how old he's supposed to look. You said he looked young....but still....I'd like an approximate age he looks so that I know After Melissa had gotten out of the class room, she looked around. There was something unusual taking place -- security guards were obviously looking for someone. She shrugged, not knowing what else to do. She figured that they would handle whatever it was they were looking for. Melissa had gotten behind some of the other students because she had stayed behind to talk to another student. By the time she had gotten outside, she seemed to be the only one around....that was until she saw an incredibly handsome guy who appeared to be hiding from something or someone. Not knowing what else to do, she stood there in shock. What surprised her even more was that the man came over to her and shook her hand. “Oh hello! I’m The Doctor,”he had said. Then he had asked about "two big, angry men...."' Melissa assumed that he was talking about the security guards. Not seeing them around, she nodded. Melissa saw the man grinning as she heard him exclaim, "“ALRIGHT THEN! THAT’S GOOD!" The man had pulled her close to him. "What did you do to get those security guards after you?" No matter how good he looked, having security guards after him set off some warning flags for Melissa. She hoped that it was just a misunderstanding. He didn't seem like someone who was a serial killer or anything. Melissa couldn't help but smile at this stranger, she then looked down at his left ring finger, and noticed that he wasn't wearing a ring. Melissa had gotten in the habit of checking the ring fingers of all the cute single males that she had met -- she was at an age now where a lot of good looking young men were married. "Are you a new student this semester?" Melissa asked. She had to admit that shes was curious about this man. Reply Edit . Report Abuse . Ban User . Delete Post .«Jan 13th 2010, 11:53am . (Oh I see what you mean,)
The Doctor let go of her and she asked, "What did you do to get those security guards after you?" He scratched his head nervously and looked around for any help. He seemed to look around his late 20's when Melissa got a good look at him. "Well, uh, I was kind of listening on a class...BECAUSE I'm very interested in American education." He replied honestly but didn't want to cling on to the subject. Taking a hold of her arm trying to obviously get out of the place, to Melissa, at this point he looked quite shifty.
"Soooo, did you park or something because I could take you back to your car. Thanks for helping me...WELL a bit...WELL kind of." He said truthfully, sometimes this man didn't know how to stop. For some reason he felt rather comforted to Melissa, he didn't know why but instead of any other human he seem to feel calm with Melissa. He didn't think about it. Melissa seemed to like the company of this stranger.
"I drove here...like a usually do...every time." She sighed. The Doctor didn't notice a lot of obvious things but he realised that Melissa was bored with this day to day basis. He even noticed that she was bored with her normal life...she was seeking adventure and that was something The Doctor could arrange. He looked at her thinking of how he could address his real potential. Then, he came back to life and realised he had to go so he wouldn't get caught.
They were now by her car. She beeped her car door open, he smiled in remembrance of a better time when he did that with the TARDIS. He opened the door for, which surprised her quite a bit. She got in and started up the car, she also offered if he wanted to go with her. He had to unfortunately deny the kind offer. Looking quite upset she set off and he waved wearing a charming smile.
Leaping off instantly he went off to the front gates. The two security guards were there so he hid behind what looked like a pillar. Thinking for a while he leapt out, the guard jumped into action. "OH SORRY DID I STARTLE YOU? My bad." He asked, when they recognised him, he was out the gates and bounding down the road. They chased him down the road. Head up and jumping into the air he was running faster, then he laughing outrageously. All the time Melissa was watching only a few metres away. Reply Edit . Report Abuse . Ban User . Melissa was surprised that the man had walked with her back to her car, and even more so when he had opened the door for her.
"There aren't many men like that out there anymore," she thought.
She had occasionally run into guys who would hold a door for her or treated her like she was something to be treasured. Her male friends in college had been like this. She smiled as she remembered how they had put on a special Valentine's dinner for her and all of her female friends. The guys had given them all roses, and they had cut the thorns off of them with their keys.
"A dangerous man would not act like this," she thought to herself.
The man looked to be about her age, which was why she thought that he might have been a new student at the school. However, his answer to her earlier question seemed to disprove that. He was simply just interested in American education. Was he a scientist? A sociologist? Hadn't he said that he was a doctor? She supposed that it made sense. The man did have an English accent, so she assumed that he was from England.
"He must be some guy with a PHD doing research on our education system here."
The man had looked a little lost, so Melissa had decided to offer him a ride home. Her roommates were always glad to be fixing fancy dinners for guests. She had been somewhat disappointed that he had declined the offer.
Wondering what had become of the man, Melissa had started to drive off down the road, but stopped when she heard some commotion.
"It must be him again."
She decided to wait along the side of the road to see whether or not he would pass her way. Reply Edit . Report Abuse . Ban User . Delete Post .«Jan 13th 2010, 1:41pm . Edited Jan 13th 2010, 1:51pm #9

Still running he had to make sure he was as far away as he could be. Stopping near a lovely little park, he rested against a big oak tree. A soccer ball rolled over to him and two children, about 10 years old, ran over to claim it. The Doctor picked it up and gave it back to them, with a smile. 'Ha, They must call it a soccer ball here, it's weird when you get use to calling it a football.' He thought to himself quietly. He looked around him and saw children playing games with adults joining in or talking to other adults.
Earth seemed a brilliant and stupid world to him. Caring for all but not realising the obvious, loving and helping but dealing with things that would get them in trouble. It seemed as if it was the younger sibling of other planets, not on their best behaviour and trying to be adults when clearly they were making the situation worse. They seemed to mess up a lot but didn't care, they might not be as great as their good two-shoes planet siblings but they were caring and loving. That's really all that matters, if they love the world they were.
Getting up and walking out of the park (it'd been 5 minutes since he rested), he grinned about the potential of these humans. His grin slipped and he stopped. "dang! The TARDIS is still on that campus." He said to himself. He ran towards the direction of the campus and then slowed down thinking he would be caught if he went back in. He put his hands in his pockets and trudged away from the learning facility.
He was walking for 10 minutes when he saw a horrendous traffic jam. He looked at all the different coloured cars that were in various ridiculous shapes. Then, he recognised a car that he'd seen before, it was Melissa's. "Well if I'm going to spend any time here, I might as well spend it with someone I sort of know...well not really but worth a try." He thought to himself.
Running straight through the traffic, a few cars beeped at him, he ran right in front of Melissa's car. A very startled Melissa looked back at him. Her mouth dropped open, her eyes stared at him like giant saucers. He ran right over to her side of the car and she rolled down the window. "Hey, close that mouth you'll catch a fly." He said waving, she followed his instructions. "Do you think I could join you in that car, please?" He asked so sweetly it was almost impossible to say no. The traffic was now moving and she didn't want to get caught up in any fuss, so she opened the door and he clambered in. Unfortunately, he had to climb over her too. That was intensely awkward but got done fast. She shut the door and they set off. Reply Edit . Report Abuse . Ban User . Delete Post .«Jan 14th 2010, 8:52am #10

The man from before was in her car. She sighed....she'd just have to assume that he was safe.
"Hello again....you said that you were some sort of doctor, I think....but I didn't catch your last name."
Since he was there, she was determined to learn more about this man.
"Where are you going? I'm sorry that the traffic's so back up. It finally just started moving again."
She glanced over at him......he'd crawled over her.....which had been extremely awkward for her.....how he even accomplished that feat was beyond her.
"You know, I could have just unlocked the doors for you, and you could have gotten in that way. You didn't have to crawl over me." Reply Edit . Report Abuse . Ban User . Delete Post .«Jan 14th 2010, 10:16am . Edited Jan 14th 2010, 10:42am #11

"Well, you ask a lot of questions." He said raising an eyebrow, he straightened himself up and proceeded to answer.
"Number 1, my name is The Doctor," He held up a hand as she tried to say something. "Before you ask my name is just The Doctor nothing else to that." He seemed to say easily as if she wouldn't protest to that.
"Number 2 I'm kind of stuck here with no where to go, don't ask why it's complicated. And finally, or C, or number 3 you looked like you were in a rush so I didn't want to hold up any longer." He answered and then took a deep breath.
The Doctor was right, she didn't have time so she continuted driving on. He hoped she'd be kind enough to offer a place to stay where she lived, he'd have to find out when they got there.
They sat there for a long while in silence while Melissa tried to take in what The Doctor had said and drive at the same time. He was thinking of a plan to get back to the TARDIS and before he thought of that he'd have to think of a plan of getting into the place. Both of them were equally caught in their own thoughts, for a good 10 minutes that was. Reply Edit . Report Abuse . Ban User . Delete Post .«Jan 15th 2010, 3:11am #12

Melissa laughed. "Well then, Doctor, I suppose I do ask a lot of questions. However, you'd think that I'd be a little justified in doing so when a total stranger just shows up...especially when he's in my car."
"And to answer your third point, it actually would have taken less time for me to unlock the doors, and have you climb in."
She sighed.
"Well, I suppose it does no good to argue over the past. You're in here with me now. I'm sorry that you don't have a place to go. I......"
Melissa thinks for a moment, trying to decide what to do.
"I guess he could come over and sleep on the couch in the living room -- if my roommates don't mind."
She then spoke out loud, "Well, seeing as you have no where else to go, how would you feel about coming over to my place? I live with several friends in an apartment. We don't have a separate room for you, but you could stay in the living room. We've had friends stay the night before. It's going to be kind of weird because you're a guy...but I think it will work. I don't know how long you'll be here for, but you're welcome to our place. I'm going to check in with my roommates to make sure it's okay with them first, though. Before I go and make the call and get them all excited, I need to know whether or not that's what you want to do. If not, I can try to think of something else."
"At the very least, I'd like to offer you dinner. My friends like to cook for guests." Reply Edit . Report Abuse . Ban User . Delete Post .«Jan 15th 2010, 6:54am #13

He looked over and he grinned excited, like a little school boy. "Thanks, it's really kind of you to offer me to stay at your place. I'm not really fussy about sleeping areas and it'd be very nice to meet your roommates. In other words," his grin settled into a kind smile. "I would love to stay with you for a while. Thank you again. It's not often you find someone as helpful as you, to offer a complete stranger like me is really nice." He answered like a gentlemen.
Then he realised a real gentlemen would take into the account of the persons feelings. "If it's not too much trouble I mean. You don't have to take me in." He babbled quickly. He laughed at his foolishness.
He was looking forward to the prosperity of meeting all of Melissa's friends. Also he was interested in finding out what they'd cook, he wasn't greedy but he liked that young people these days were taking an interest in cooking, especially for him. It wasn't too difficult to become friends with people he didn't know, he'd done it before.
He was excited like a child going to their first sleepover. He thought for a second, what would happen. He'd usually take off into space a battle monster or save them, that didn't seem like a likely possibility. 'What do humans do?' He thought to himself. He couldn't think of anything, after all he didn't really have a mundane lifestyle of a human. He'd just have to find out when they get there. Reply Edit . Report Abuse . Ban User .
