Melissa laughed with relief when she heard him explain that the TARDIS translated all languages in the universe.
"The TARDIS will get inside my head too, even though I'm human?" she asked. "Good...."
The problem was, even though the Doctor showed her the psychic paper that said "this is psychic paper so I can make whoever reads it see what I want them to see," it didn't work on Melissa. She didn't see any message on it at all. "What do you need that for? Taking notes?"
She was completely confused as to why he would show her a blank piece of paper.
"No, I never heard of Art Attack either," she replied.
"Let's be off then," Melissa said with a grin. "Although, I'm new to all this traveling, so I'm probably going to have to follow you."
(quick note: psychic paper won't work on her since she's actually a Time Lord in disguise)

"Yup, works on anyone and everyone...well who steps in the TARDIS." He informed her.
"Hmmm that's weird, it doesn't work on you then. Basically, it's psychic paper so whoever reads it can see what I want them to see." He told looking at her as if she wasn't normal. But he didn't let that bother him for too long.
"Aww, your American children are deprived from art related TV." He laughed.
"Okie dokie then." He said leading the way.
(Ah of course...should have thought about that before xD)

Melissa followed after the Doctor.
"Psychic paper?" Melissa asked. "Okay...that explains it....so it shows whoever reads it what you want them to see.....but it obviously doesn't work on everyone. Why didn't it work on me?"

"It's suppose to work on everyone." He frowned. "I have no idea why it doesn't work on you." He told her truthfully.
The Doctor was confused. The psychic paper worked on everyone...except Time Lords and people who know about it. It made no sense.
"Oh well. I won't let it bother me." He said smiling.

"No, visiting the locals would be fine with me. I want to meet them!" she said excitedly.
These would be the first aliens she would meet besides the Doctor.

There were 4 boys playing what seemed to look like 'tag'. When they saw The Doctor and Melissa they all stopped and stared.
They'd never seen people of such an unusual colour.
(Ok, so I guess we should pick children to play as.)

Melissa followed him to the village.
She found the architecture of the houses to be interesting. The four boys playing tag didn't escape her notice.
She looked at the Doctor and commented, "They all look so cute."
One of the little boys looked at them and asked, "What are you? I've never seen anyone like you before."

"Yeah." The Doctor said agreeing with her.
He looked at the young boy and took out his psychic paper again. "Well you see I'm Doctor. John Smith of Torchwood Institute and I'm here to explore your planet and why of living." He answered confidently showing the boy the paper.
Another boy walked up, he looked a little older. "Yeah, but where are you from?" He asked looking at the paper too.
"Uh...well..." The Doctor started.
"It says you're from Earth." The second boy said interrupting him. The Doctor just nodded at him. "Well you don't look like them and don't seem to be a threat." He second boy said.
"Oooh, look like who?" The Doctor asked looking very interested.
"I think it's better if you talk to my parents, they own the village." The second completely ignored the question and took them to his parents.

Melissa looked at the boys, and decided to address them.
"Yes, please do lead us to your parents....."
She looked at the Doctor, hoping he would agree. Every time she looked at him, she smiled. She couldn't help it, and he knew that she liked him....and he liked her back. To her, it was just neat having that kind of special relationship with someone -- to like someone and have them like her back.

She was staring at him so he looked at her and smiled.
'Melissa was so pretty when she smiles.' He thought to himself. 'She's always pretty.' He thought. The Doctor looked like he was daydreaming, he was smirking and laughing a little. "Heheh she's so..." He trailed off as soon as he snapped back real life.
The boys' took them to the second boy's parents. They made no comment on what The Doctor had said but they saw the way they looked at each other. When they did the boys' giggled.

As they were walking back, Melissa looked into his eyes.
"They really are gorgeous," she thought to herself.
It was then that she heard his comment and blushed slightly.
"Was that about me?" she wondered to herself.
Melissa looked around at the house that they had arrived at. It certainly wasn't what she had expected at an aliens' house.
She asked the boy, "So where are your parents?"
Two of the other boys followed behind, silent and curious to find out about these strangers.

The boy took them to a room that they presumed was the living room. It was big and had flowery wallpaper and red carpet. There was a strange big whistle that dominated one corner, it wasn't a human instrument but it looked nice. There were an assortment of chairs that were spread out across the whole room. A small weirdly shaped table was planted exactly in the middle of the room.
Two aliens were talking. One was a small blue woman. She had long flowing hair and was were a big, posh yellow dress. The other was a average height blue man. He was bald and was dressed in a one piece body suit. Although it looked a bit ridiculous, it did look quite formal.
They both stood up as soon as the boys brought in the two figures. They looked shocked when they saw them.
"Hello." The man stuttered to say.
"HI!" The Doctor beamed and held out a hand to shake. The man didn't shake it, but The Doctor could see he looked a bit scared among the shock.
"Uh, we're not here to harm you. In fact we're quite friend...very friendly...but not weird friendly...just friendly." He told the man.
The man wasn't still in a little bit of shock, although he wasn't completely satisfied but he looked a little relieved. He ushered for them to sit down in two empty chairs. They sat down and smiled at each other. At least he was willing to give him a chance.

"Sorry about the sudden intrusion," she spoke up, "but we were told that you might want to talk to us."
