"Hmmm, let's see if we can find the bridge. This looks like..."The Doctor shone his light from one end of the corridor to the other. "Quarters. Crew's? Passengers? I don't seem to recall seeing this design before. Hmm, now this is interesting." He also shone his light in the same direction as James'. The sound came again, then faded away. "If someone is on this ship they've found a way to confuse the TARDIS' sensors. I would like to meet whomever can do that, to avoid any problems later on."
He reached out a hand and drew a finger across the wall, then rubbed his fingers together. "Soot? on a space ship? I highly doubt if any race came up with a coal burning vessel, don't you?"

"A coal-burning spaceship? That's impossible!Or should be.Let's move, shall we?",said James and started walking towards a door.He tried to open it but it wouldn't shift a bit. "Something peculiar is going on here.Help me open it,wiil you?"

The Doctor exaimed the door. It looked to lead into another level of corridors, one which he hoped would lead to the bridge. "Hmmm, it's on emergency lockdown. Sort of like the submarines on Earth, if one section has a leak it can shut down that area quickly to avoid flooding the rest of the vessel. But I still don't see any sign of real damage." He fished his sonic screwdriver out of his pocket and focused it on the lock. In just a few moments they heard the snicking of bolts being withdrawn and the door sighed open. "There! That did it!"
Replacing the screwdriver in his coat pocket the Doctor stepped briskly through but as soon as he did so loud clanging started.
"Intruder alert! Intruder Alert! Section B-12! Section B-12!" the robotic voice shouted.
"B-12? Let's hope they didn't sink the battleship," the Doctor murmured as he waited for the din to die down.

James thought of preparing his gun,but he doubted it would be any good with robots or aliens. So he just stood and waited expecting the Doctor's reaction.
What seemed like android robots started coming through the corridor. One raised its robotic hand and pointed at the Doctor.Something shined deep inside the "hand".And then it happened.James didin't know why he did it,but he pushed the Doctor onto the floor. Then,he saw a very bright light and everything went dark.He slowly faded into unconsciousness, after an overwhelming wave of pain and confusion. He thought of the Doctor. He thought of his long-gone family back on Earth. He thought of the job he so much loved. He thought of some of his past girlfriends. He thought of his so ordinary life back on his home planet. And he realised that he wanted to live.He didn't want to go.Before passing out he managed to mutter 2 words, pointed at the Doctor. "Save me."

The Doctor sat up quickly and his eyes grew wide as James slumped to the floor. It must be a record, here this companion hadn't been with him a whole 24 hours and already his life was threatened! Still, action had to be taken if he wasn't going to die right there before him. He snatched up his sonic screwdriver and aimed it full blast at the robot guards. Whirring sounds came from inside and they froze. The next blast he aimed at the door controls and it obediently slid shut.
The Doctor scrambled to James and gently turned him over. A huge wave of relief washed over him when he saw the weapon used was a rather potent stun gun. James would wake soon but probably would have a skull-bending headache. He sighed and leaned back against the ship's bulkhead. "My word, James. You are brave, I'll give you that but what a chance you took! Still, your soldier training most likely took over. I have no idea how long you'll be out but I don't think I'll just go off and leave you. Those robots were on automatic defense and there's no telling what else could happen if I go blundering off."
A few minutes later had him still sitting. Doing nothing wasn't something the Doctor had ever been good at, he longed to be off exploring more but he felt responsible for James being here. He gazed about the corridor. "A food despenser would be handy. I don't think I'll call for room service."

James woke up.He hadn't died obviously. But he had one mind-blowing headache! He felt strange. There was noone to be seen around. "Oh,you wouldn't stay around for long, would you?",he said to himself. He felt as if there was something to remember but he couldn't quite put his finger at it.He felt his mind blurring. He started walking, but he didn't know why.He tried to stop and he couldn't!He had lost control of his body!He pulled his gun out and prepared it.But why would he do that? Then his mind started losing its grip."I am being taken over!",he realised with horror. Then a superior mind took over him.He saw the things in its mind.It had hunted the Doctor through time and space.A nameless thing. And then he lost every control. He could think by himself but couldn't resist to the influence anymore. And then his mouth opened and the strange influence started talking: "I have one primary purpose. My primary purpose is to destroy the Doctor. The Doctor's location is in his TARDIS.He will be annihilated. He started walking towards the TARDIS.He knocked at the door. "I'm so sorry Doctor.I'm so bloody sorry.",thought Jim as the door opened.

(Ah, the Doctor isn't in his TARDIS, he's been sitting by James waiting for him to wake up.)

(My idea was that the Doctor left James and went into the TARDIS to find something in order to wake him up.But if you wish,I can change the post.)

(As mentioned before you can only control your own character. I had the Doctor simply sit and wait.)

(Sorry sir,I totally forgot that!I'll give you the changed version immediately!)
James woke up.He hadn't died obviously. But he had one mind-blowing headache! He felt strange. He was in someone's hands, probably the Doctor's.He struggled to open his eyes, but he didn't really want to.He felt quite some gratitude to the Doctor. He had barely known him for 2 hours but he stayed with him nevertheless. He thought that theirs was going to be one good friendship. He decided that it was high time he got up.He tried to open his eyes but he strangely couldn't.He tried to move his hands and legs but he couldn't!He felt his mind blurring.Something strange touched his mind.He felt a burning hate for the Doctor. An utter urge to destroy him, crash him, eliminate him.At one point he totally lost his grip.He saw everything that this thing was.A nameless terrible entity that had chased the Doctor through time and space. An assassin as it seemed.Such a strong influence! It was scaring him to death.Because he saw what was going to happen. And he simply couldn't stand the thought of what that was.The most brilliant and brave man in the whole bloody cosmos and he was going to kill him.The only relief was that it wouldn't be him who would it but his body nonetheless. He knew the Doctor was a being of immense power and intelligence, but he really doubted that he could do anything to avoid death now.How could it be his time to go?How could the space-time continuum allow the death of the most amazing man in existence?Bloody hell,he was going to hate himself after that.He hoped that the influence would choose to dispose of him afterwards. He,or rather his body, slowly opened his eyes and took a look at the Doctor. "I'm sorry Doctor.", he thought."I'm so sorry.",and he moved his hands to the Doctor's throat.

The Doctor saw James stirring and smiled. Humans were rather resiliant in their own way, not on the same level as Time Lords, of course but still strong in their own fashion. He got to his feet and reached out to help James up.
"Nasty things, those stun guns." he said conversationally. "They really pull a nasty punch, especially when you don't expect them. Are you all right?" When James didn't move to sit up he frowned and knelt back down beside him. "It does help if you move a little. Get the blood flowing and all that."
He saw the hands reaching out but he thought James just needed help in standing so he leaned in closer to grasp his arms. It wasn't until the hands reached his throat when he realized all wasn't quite well.
(Your move to either start squeezing or have James resist the control:) )

James' hands were on the Doctor's throat. He had never felt such twisted joy and pleasure before!Such a sense of power as he started squeezing. His strength was far beyond humanity now.So were his senses. He let himself get drunk in the power. But this wasn't right. He realised that now he had some control over his body.He took his hands away from the Doctor. "Run!Leave me!Save your life!", James shouted. Then came his punishment. The entity had given him some control because it felt the twisted pleasure of killing which stemmed from the primeval insticts of humanity. An overwhelming pain took over him and he started screaming as he had never screamed before.Every cell of his body was torn and tortured with pain.He kneeled and started writhing on the floor. He was certain he wouldn't survive that. But it was better that way.At least the Doctor would survive. But the Doctor would find a way.And if he wouldn't...Well,he didn't want to die but he had seen enough. He had travelled the cosmos for a short while. And he realised that he wanted to travel more.He wanted to see the universe. He suddenly felt powerful and all too willing to live. "No...",he muttered."It's about time I took control of my body!" And he fought the entity inside its very mind,he attacked and battled with it.And the powerful entity regressed with dread and terror of the force it was attacked with just to be expelled out of the body it possessed. He stood up,quite shaken up by the experience, but otherwise fine. "The whole ship is here for you. There is a whole army of these things that possessed me.This whole ship is a time travesty,a fluctuation of time itself.A paradox. It has been built by someone who wants to destroy you.I don't know who.The TARDIS was drawn here.Someone powerful is after you.We must leave now. It's a matter of life and death."

The Doctor grasped the hands that were securely fastened around his throat and tried to pry them off. To his surprise the strength he felt from James was far more than that of an average human. He put more effort into it as he felt himself slipping into unconsciousness then suddenly he felt the grip released. As he fell forward onto his hands and knees he heard James implore him to run. All well and good but first he had to recover his breath first.
"J-james...what...is it?" he gasped out, swallowing hard. As he regained his strength he heard James cry out and watched helplessly as the young man fought for control over his own body. The Doctor had witnessed many a possession but this one seemed more powerful. However James had succeeded in casting it back, at least for the moment.
He was able to stand again once as James explained what had happened. "Well, I believe it's time we got back to the TARDIS then. Can you run?"

James started running towards the TARDIS.He felt utterly exhausted. He would try to make sure he never got through something like that!Bloody hell, that was an experience to remember! But now he was safe.Or so he hoped. The TARDIS was not 10 steps away, but he suddenly started slowing down. And everything else around him started slowing down, including the Doctor.Something was messing his time. After approximately 10 seconds of gradual decrease of speed everything returned to normal. But not everything was the same. The TARDIS had vanished into thin air.Not dematerialised or taken away, just vanished! "What on bloody earth did just happen?",James asked full of wonder and despair. "Where is the TARDIS???"

The Doctor also had slowed down, not as much as James, as his body was more used to such disturbances but enough for him to see the TARDIS shimmer and vanish. "A time eddy," he frowned and murmured. "Someone shot a time eddy in our path to slow us down as they transported the TARDIS elsewhere. Not very sporting of them, is it?"
He turned back and looked down the corridor they had left. "Well, it seems we are forced to explore more of this to find where they're taken her. This ship isn't the derelict we thought it was, was it?" Here he cast a sideways glance at James. "Are you feeling all right? Want to talk about it, about anything different?"
