[SET BEFORE THE EVENTS OF JOURNEY'S END]
Donna stepped out of her room, bored. Blowing a stray piece of hair out of her face, she looked down the hall. They hadn't gone anywhere for a week. A WEEK. The former temp was used to the non-stop instantaneous adventures the Tardis supplied. They would stop every once in a while, just float. But never before had they done nothing for so long. She understood, of course...the Tardis needed repairs...their last "relaxing vacation" had blown a few fuses and broken a couple things that helped the old girl run smoothly...well, as smoothly as could be expected for a machine that ended up throwing it's pilots across the room very occasionally on it's travels.
She set off down the corridor, following the clanks of metal on metal to the console room. The Doctor's messy brown hair greeted her. Looking down into the grating he was working in, Donna spoke up in a mildly annoyed voice.
"Doctor..."

The Doctor, intent on fixing one of the fuses in the TARDIS, heard his name being called by his current companion. He also heard the tone in her voice. Sighing, he called up to Donna, "I'm here...what is it this time?"
He was slightly annoyed himself. He just couldn't seem to figure out what was exactly wrong with the TARDIS. Donna's interruptions added to his annoyance.

"The same thing as last time," Donna said as if it was obvious. "What's wrong with the Tardis?" She could tell the Doctor was frustrated, but she was frustrated too. He hadn't been giving her any answers, and she was becoming a bit stir crazy.

The Doctor made another frustrated noise. "I....I don't know....but I'm working on it."
He took out his sonic and tried to scan her to see if he could find out what was wrong with the TARDIS. "Why don't you just....just go to the pool or the library or something." He suggested. The Time Lord could tell that Donna was bored.

"I've been reading. I'm bored of reading." Donna sighed. "And the pool, don't think I haven't tried, is freezing...something else affected by whatever's wrong I'm sure."
Donna bit the inside of her lip. "Doctor, what would happen if we just *tried* to land somewhere to fix the Tardis?"

The Doctor replied to Donna, "Well, the thing is I'm not entirely sure that we WOULD land where we intended to....but...."
He considered Donna's request. It wasn't as though the thought hadn't crossed his mind. It might be nice to get his mind off of the frustration of not being able to fix his TARDIS.
"That is....if you don't mind possibly landing somewhere else other than where I tell her to land..."

Donna quirked an eyebrow and tried to hold back a smile. "And that differs from usual, how exactly?" she asked, poking fun at him. "Let's try it." She stepped back to let the Doctor up.

The Doctor grinned. "Oh yes....ready for another adventure! So....where would you like me to set it -- there IS a possibility that the TARDIS might actually take us there..."
He got up from his position of working under the console, and went to the controls.

Donna gave it a quick thought. "Future. You pick the specifics, but let's try NOT to run for our lives this time?"

The Doctor playfully frowned at Donna. "But that takes out all of the fun...."
He grinned at her, and then replied, "Oh....all right...but no promises...." The Time Lord racked his brain for a possible planet that they could travel to. "Earth or a different planet?" he asked Donna.
If they were going into the future, he'd prefer a different planet himself, but he'd wait to see what Donna wanted before actually setting the coordinates.

Donna matched the Doctor's grin with her own.
"Earth or a different planet?"
"Different planet," Donna said confidently. She wanted new places, new knowledge, and Earth, no matter how far in the future it was, was a bit too close to home.
"Well, come on space man!" she said, playfully impatient.

The Doctor nodded, "Right..." he grinned at her as he moved over to the controls. "Here we go...." he said, quickly deciding on a planet, entering in the coordinates, and then pressing a button. "And we are off..."
Moments later, the TARDIS shook a bit, made the normal landing noises, and stopped.

Donna looked at the Doctor. "Well that was a smoother ride than I thought it would be."
Letting go of the console, she headed to the door, and looking back at the Doctor, opened it. Stepping outside she found herself on concrete and looking at a indigo coloured sky. Donna turned in a circle; it seemed that not only had the Tardis landed them on a roof, but that whatever building they were standing on was also the tallest structure within hundreds of miles.
Donna turned back to the Tardis. "This where we aimed for?" she asked.

The Doctor glanced around at their surroundings and grinned at Donna. "Yep....."
He glanced around for a door that would lead them off of the roof and into the main part of the building. This planet was known for it's industry, but that wasn't the only thing it was known for. It also had forests that were well known for having rare sorts of trees in it.
"The planet Gafoyhedydi" the Doctor announced to Donna. "You've never been here....well, until now."

The Doctor glanced around at their surroundings and grinned at Donna. "Yep....."
Donna nodded with a laugh. "Hey, maybe you fixed her just fiddling about!"
"The planet Gafoyhedydi" the Doctor announced to Donna. "You've never been here....well, until now."
"No kidding." Donna raised her eyebrow with a smile. "Think I would have remembered the purple sky."
Donna walked over to the edge of the building and looked down to see people smaller than ants scurrying around. "Gafoy-Gafedo- Gaf..." Donna grimaced and shook her head. Sometimes she thought the Doctor took her to places with difficult names just to have a laugh. "If the names on this planet are as difficult to pronounce as it's own is, I might be in trouble," she said wryly, looking back at the Doctor.
