"Hi. Sorry, can we postpone the family reunion speeches? We have about a million Daleks up there that we need to take care of," Bryan said, hating to have to break the moment up. "Doctor, you have much more experience with the Daleks, so what should we do?"

The Doctor grinned at Jenny. "Well, you're alive......yes, you are."
At Bryan's comment, he frowned. "Well, first I'd like to know a bit more about the situation. Why are the Daleks here? What is it that they exactly want? What are they trying to do? If I have that information, I might be able to figure out how we can stop them. So far, all that I know is that a few Daleks survived from the last time I encountered them -- one ship. They happened to possess pure Dalek DNA, and they are near Earth. Now, they are Daleks, so they won't hesitate to kill, but it would help to know what they are wanting to do here...what their intention is. And what are their resources?"
He took his hand and ran it through his hair.

"In terms of resources, I overheard them saying something about some sort of source of dalekanium, maybe they're making it somewhere in there, wonder where they got that much polycarbide from, its pretty rare nowadays, the most common place for it is.... Earth," The General said with a sudden realisation.

“Earth?” Owen asked. “How can you figure that?" Owen placed his hands on his hips.
"And I am not a scientist but I can think like one," he paused. And he continued, "Any chance can the Rift can be creating polycarbide. With the time and space coming through Cardiff like a knife and bleeding this polycarbide in the area,” Owen said. “And that makes Torchwood Three a target and other locations on Earth.”
And he looked at Bryan, pointed him a digit, “Respect your team members. You never know what could work with a thought. Like Ianto used a candy bar to try distract McGrawfy. Being a Torchwood member we listen to each other. We go with it or we discard it.”

"It's underneath the earth, been there for millions of years, but that is possible, under certain circumstances," The General said, "you'd make a good Time Lord you know Owen."

Bryan frowned and nodded. "Fine, alright." He hated being talked down to, but it was one of those things he figured he'd have to deal with when working with Torchwood. He looked over at the two Time Lords. "So these polycarbides. That's what they might be after? Fuels? What if we destroyed whatever they had that was converting it to dalekanium? Would that do us any good?"

Owen stood a little taller. He liked that compliment. No body never told him he make a good of something. That was a nice feeling. Owen felt appreciated. He was not all sure what a Time Lord do. But the General said Owen would be a good one. Owen nodded his head. “Thank you, General,” Owen said in a humble low tone.
“Something tells me polycarbides is something that the Earth needs to live on. It’s like the planet as a whole body needs it’s nutrients to survive. And I wouldn’t be surprise that the polycarbides can be like a white cell that the planet needs,” he looked at the General, “Is in the middle of the Earth. So, we the human race never had the chance to drill deep enough. So, it does with the heart of the planet. I don’t know been reading all lot.”
(ooc but can the polycarbides be from that spider race thing that lady. But you think the Doctor would think that? Maybe? I don’t know.)

The Doctor rolled his eyes at the General when he mentioned that Owen would make a good Time Lord. Time Lords, most of them, just sat around on Gallifrey, not wanting to interact with other species. A "good" Time Lord was one who believed that other species, especially humans, were inferior. He knew that that couldn't have been what the General was trying to say to Owen. Rather, he'd meant it as a compliment; a positive thing. Sure, Time Lords were brilliant, but the Doctor wasn't considered to be a "good" Time Lord, not accepting the attitude of the "proper" Time Lords. They weren't all like the "ideal" Time Lord. The Doctor would not have chosen that particular comment to make to a person...especially not a Torchwood member.
"Right...so the Daleks want it, but they've been on this planet before. They know that humans do not exactly know about it....so what is their plan for extracting it? They can't just destroy the planet....the planet would go boom along with the polycarbide. Oh, and the Daleks are brilliant..." the Doctor commented.

"I wouldn't call them brilliant." Bryan frowned at the Doctor's comment. "But you have a good point, it's foolish to go after this stuff by destroying the source... Unless they just took over the planet, like they've tried before."

You know what I mean Doctor.
The General said, "Daleks are brilliant though, at destroying everything that isn't them, me and the Doctor were in a war with them, we'd know."
The General shed a tear, thinking of all the people had been destroyed in the Time War, Tyler, more or less, Jed, Correon, he even missed Emmehujidat, just a little.
Dismissing these thoughts, he turned his mind to the matter at hand.
"They wouldn't need a million Daleks to take this planet, at their power, that ship could take down any normal Earth Defences," The General said, "they must be colonising, there can't be any other reason."

The Doctor turned to face Bryan and to respond to him. "Well, they are brilliant....Daleks are brilliant. Trust me, I know. They might not look like they are brilliant, oh but they are. They just choose not to use their intelligence when dealing with relating to other species. They are all kill and destroy....except....except when they are desperate."
He nodded at the General, unable to meet his gaze. The Doctor, too, was thinking about all those that had been lost in the war, and all those who had been killed by Daleks before then and since then.
"Yes, and they are brilliant at the methods that they use to destroy those that are not Dalek. Colonizing? Now that is a possibility...but then how to stop it? I said before...we could try to send them back into the rift. I did that before...but then that was when a parallel world was involved. Have these Daleks been traveling in the void? Or did they use stolen time technology....do you know?" he glanced at the Valeyard.
The Valeyard seemed to know about these Daleks, so maybe he would know what kind of technology that the Daleks had used to travel there.
(No idea what you're talking about, Owen.)
