The Doctor nodded as he heard Owen confirm that he had indeed reached Torchwood. "Right....so Daleks...there are Daleks on Earth. Have any idea why or how they got here?"
He really hoped that Torchwood wasn't somehow responsible for this. He hated Torchwood. Te only redeeming value that Torchwood had was that somehow Jack was in charge of it. He liked it better than the old Torchwood -- from what he knew of Jack's operation, but he still disliked the concept.

"Debug software," The General said.
Waiting. Waiting. More waiting.
"Debug complete," the hologram projector said.
"About time! Let's try again, hologram parameters, 100, send to Time Lord genetic code, include part-timelords." He said once more, and suddenly, he was back in the room.
"You have no idea how much trouble this thing give....... Doctor?" The General said, inspecting the Doctors tenth incarnation, "looking spiffy...." The General said.

Owen looked up from the phone. Owen leaned on the table. Thinking, ‘this Doctor does not sound happy.’
“They are not on Earth, yet,” Owen said. “They are on the way,” Owen looked agitated at the blue box. Thinking, why don’t you come out? Owen took a deep breath as he looked at the blue box. Owen started to understand something. “Jack talks highly about you. We respect you for saving Earth a multiple million times.” Owen took a moment to gather what he was about to say next because it is not so Owen to say these words to a man he never he met. Owen looked down at the speaker, “I am sorry what Torchwood One did with the rift. But we are not that Torchwood,” Owen would glare at Ianto if he was here or any Torchwood One. Owen felt a waste of time being spent talking to the Doctor. It was hard for Owen because he was the one who messed up with the rift machine and he is guilty as Torchwood One in a way. Owen did not like this feeling of being wrong. “Here in Jack’s Torchwood we have done nothing. Please take our word,” Owen paused. “We are willing to go to the Dalek ship and aid you. But we don’t have the transportation. Are you capable to take us there?” Owen felt sick. “And we have a happy excited female here for you?” That was Owen tossing in a manipulate move over the Doctor. Owen does know how to use words to get someone to go his way.

(The Doctor IS out of his TARDIS -- see my other post on page 11)
The Doctor frowned at the sound of the General's voice, not recognizing the Time Lord. He couldn't sense that there were other Time Lords there, either, as the Doctor didn't know that someone somewhere had done something to block the ability for one Time Lord to sense another -- or possibly just his ability specifically.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah," Ten said in response to Owen's comments, still more than slightly annoyed. "But you are still Torchwood-- correct me if I'm wrong, but it was still your Torchwood which shot down a ship at the orders of Harold Saxon? Torchwood is the only organization I know of on Earth -- at least in this time period -- with the technology to use the rift and open something inside of it. Is that where the Daleks are from? The Rift?"
"If it wasn't Torchwood then it has to be some non-humans somewhere. If that is the case, then we have to find them -- and fast."
The Doctor thought that he had detected a slight guilt in the way that Owen ha answered him. "Regardless, we have Daleks here, and I need to know how they got here -- you...you want to use my TARDIS to get to the Daleks? That isn't a very good idea. The last time I encountered them, they tried to destroy it....but, still....why do you want to transport to them?"
Having never have been inside the Torchwood facilities, the Doctor didn't really know where the entrance was.
Ears perking up at the mention of a female glad to see him, he frowned. "Really, well who is this girl that wants to see me so much?"
Guessing that it might be Donna or Sarah Jane or one of his former companions, he let out a sigh. At least he hoped it was a companion. He hoped it wasn't some existed fan girl who had somehow heard of him. He knew that people knew about him -- that group ....what had it been called Lynda or Linda or something like that? He hadn't quite been sure of the spelling.
Finally, he commented to Owen, "And when Jack 'rebuilt Torchwood in my honor' I would have thought that he would at least have changed the name."

Owen was going to argue with the Doctor on that ‘yea but you still show up’ when the Doctor mentioned you people blew up the ship.
“We are planning to attack inside,” Owen said. “I am planning to pull the plug on their engines to slow them down. I am guessing I am a walking zombie they might not see me. And the others…” he looked at them. “Oh explain your brilliant part of your plans. Doctor we are not going to be sitting ducks here.” Owen realized he forgot to ask how the Daleks work. He let it fly over him. Someone will remember, let them grab the glory. Owen was just scared.
Owen crossed his arms when the Doctor mentioned Jack not changing the name. Owen looked down at the ground in shame that his leader kept the name. He had nothing to defend Jack but silence. And he decide to wait for the group gather itself.
(ooc sorry about the missing bit)

She knew virtually nothing about the rift that apparently liked to kidnap wayward travelers and bring them here but one thing she did know… She couldn’t contain herself any longer and when she heard his voice over the intercom system of the telecommunications device. Jenny’s voice piped up close by as she watched the screen. “Apparently this rift is just dropping all sorts of extraterrestrial beings on this poor planet today. Hi, Doctor,” she said with emphasis, taking Bryan’s cue by not calling him dad.

Bryan sighed and stayed out of the conversation. He glanced toward Jenny, smiling at her enthusiasm. But it didn't last long, remembering the enemy he and the Doctor shared. The Daleks were on their way.

"Oh, it's The General Doctor. You know me, I saved Tyler, from the parasites?" The General said, hopefully, "Ughhh, anyway, there are Daleks here and they are looking for something, some, artifact, I dunno exactly what yet, it's a major operation in here, there must be at least a million Daleks."
((Oh and also, these are the new daleks, so the Doctor probably won't recognize them.))

Owen crossed his arms and took a step back from the bitter chatter. This was getting abit out of hand. The Doctor was here. The Doctor pointed at Torchwood for opening the rift. Deep down Owen felt it was his responsiblity. What if he did not try to open the Rift when Jack was in 1942. Owen felt he wanted to vomit but he had nothing to vomit because he was dead. He was feeling lonely. He looked at them all bickering.
Owen looked at General when he mentioned a million daleks. That made Owen grab a chair to sit down. He just wanted to run away. This was scary stuff.
Owen looked at General. When he mentioned that they want something. Owen just decide to listen and wished Jack was here. Owen was not made to be a leader as he thought and he was in the shoes again. He cursed to himself. He looked at what there was people of Torchwood. He was thinking let the Doctor make the calls. Jack trusted him. I just go against the tide when I know it is wrong. I don't know this Doctor and I am thowing my faith in a Time Lord.

"Anyway, down to the plan, I have enough explosives in my pocket to blow this ship to smithereens, and then some, but you know, i'm kinda tied up at the moment, so we need someone with a device that can travel in space and/or time, oh gee, I wonder where we could find someone like that?" The General said sarcasticlly with a grin.

"Oh...there you go again.....talking about blowing things up -- that's just like Torchwood." The Doctor gave a frown.
However, his mind was elsewhere. That voice -- that excited female voice. Where had he heard it before? It seemed so familiar, yet he couldn't quite place it. "We've met," he said to the female voice. "But I can't quite place you....oh...this is in address to the female voice."
"I really need to know how the Daleks got here and what it is that they want."

Post by The Valeyard on Dec 3, 2010 23:17:09 GMT -5
The Valeyard had hoped to leave the Earth soon, but the moment he entered the TARDIS he knew something was wrong. When the Doctor “died” and was “born” he had stayed with the old TARDIS. Some changes had been made over the years, but for the most part he had never dreamed of changing her. The last time he had met the Doctor, his TARDIS had stayed behind in Gallifrey for the trails. Instead he had used another simpler TARDIS to travel with the rest of the members of the jury. The TARDIS had never met one of her younger selves or had been at a close proximity of them, he guessed something was causing this trouble.
Or she was simply trying to be annoying, the TSRDIS had a mind of her own she knew when there was trouble and she tended to bring him to those troublesome times. Forcing him to serve of help, right now she was probably doing the same connecting with her old self. He was more than irritated right now, the Time Lords had given him freedoms and protections, His encounters with the Doctor’s selves had moved smoothly without the Universe exploiting. After their end, the Valeyard had avoided meeting them. Their work could still work, but it wasn’t a chance worth taking.
He took a deep breath to calm himself, he moved around and picked a special set of guns. This type of weapons could usually injury a Dalek, he wasn’t sure what type of Daleks they were dealing with. But hopefully the result would be the same. He quickly walked back into the room, if the TARDIS wanted him to help then fine. But he wasn’t going to at like he enjoyed it. He placed two in one of the tables, keeping one for himself. This were the weapons used by us[Time Lords], they should be able to at least injury a Dalek. Aim for the eye.” He turned toward the screen. “Hello Doctor, I would say it’s a pleasure to see you, but it really isn’t.”

"Hey, don't diss the explosives. We're just trying to protect our planet from Daleks over here and they get the job done quick, if used right," Bryan said frustratedly. "You'd think you actually cared for Daleks the way you talk. Yeah, it's risky, but it's a last option. If the Daleks had their way, our planet would be as good as gone anyway." His own hatred for the Daleks clear in his voice.

Owen rolled his eyes as the Doctor made a statement about blowing up and Torchwood in the same sentence. Owen forced himself to stay where he was and stay quiet because he wanted to hit the Doctor. It was the comment that hurt. Owen believes in Jack's Torchwood and what they had accomplish saving Earth. And one was Owen's doing.

(Thanks, Valeyard Also, the Doctor is on the phone--he's not in his TARDIS, so he can't see any of the projections. Owen had put the phone on speaker, so the Doctor can HEAR everyone.) The Doctor froze at the sound of the Valeyard's voice. He recognized this voice, yet he couldn't quite place it. It had been years since he had encountered the Valeyard. He'd heard what the Valeyard had said to the General. " Time Lords? He is a Time Lord....but that is impossible.....that...that is not the Master.........Finally, the Doctor was able to identify the voice. He couldn't help but yell it, "The Valeyard!! What are you doing......how...how did you survive the Time War?" Although Ten was aware that the Valeyard was himself -- the dark parts of himself -- he hadn't exactly worked out when or what exactly the Valeyard was. He thought he'd remembered the Master or the Valeyard or someone saying that it had something to do with his 12th or 13th regeneration...or possibly his 11th....or being between one of the regenerations....yet this Time Lord was a Time Lord in his own right. He'd known that the Valeyard had participated in the Time War, and had been recognized as an individual separate from the Doctor. Since the Valeyard seemed to have a different identity, the Doctor wasn't sure whether the Valeyard had ever actually been him, or whether the Valeyard was just the potential future of the Doctor. If he were potential, then the Valeyard wouldn't have to have survived the Time War, since time was always in flex. Ten frowned at Bryan's comment. "Well, there are other ways of destroying Daleks....but no one has answered me yet for sure....did they come through the rift? If so, then there must be a whole in the rift? It would be possible to send them back through the rift, as Rose....as Rose and I did before." The Doctor had no like of Daleks, but he also did somehow wish that they could be redeemed somehow. Dalek Sec had almost gotten it right. He'd been killed, though. Although he actually hated the Daleks and everything that they represented, he also didn't like to see any species, however evil, destroyed without a chance. He hadn't had a choice in the Time War. The Time Lords -- his own people -- were going to allow for the destruction of the entire universe. He'd killed the Daleks and his own people in order to prevent the death of the entire universe. However, the Daleks had survived -- they seemed to always find a way of surviving. If he could just send them back into the rift, then nothing would have to be blown up.
