The Librarian looked up at Tyler, smiling at first, listening to him. She sighed when she realized he wouldn't stay, then pointed out which way Nathan and Koschei had run off to.
*** Kyra sighed as she found herself on the library steps. She knew she was lost, but had no idea where to go to from there.

Tyler looked right at the Librarian and smiled. She looked so sad, especially when he had indicated that he wanted to find his brother. Tyler glanced at Rodaj. "Hey, maybe we can come back later...or..."
Tyler frowned as he felt a tightness in his chest, and began to cough and have difficulty breathing. He would have liked to go find his brother, however, his asthma started bothering him. He was having trouble breathing. He didn't want to leave until he was able to breathe better.
Feeling around in the pocket of his robes for his inhaler, he didn't find it. It was at that moment that he remembered that his father had it. Frowning in frustration, he sat down in order for him to breathe better. __________ Tylerhathan had just gotten out of the one of the buildings in the Citadel, having just made more copies of his children's records. Smiling, he glanced around at all of the children and families that he saw still waiting to be registered.

The Librarian got up and went to Tyler, worried. Maybe it was his breathing. She put a hand on her chest, then pointed to Tyler in a questioning way, wanting to know for sure if it was his his breathing that was bothering him. She almost was thankful that it did happen so that he would stay.

Tyler nodded at the Librarian, hoping that she was asking about his breathing. He continued to struggle, finally, he spoke to the Librarian.
"I have asthma...I need my inhaler...my dad has it...."

Rodaj's eyes widened and he sat beside Tyler, frowning in concern.
"You have...what?" He bit his lip carefully, so as not to re-injure it. He'd not heard of asthma, or many other medical conditions, actually. He'd never thought to look them up. "You can't breathe..." he realized aloud, resting a hand gently on Tyler's back. He wouldn't leave him when he needed help.
He looked to the Librarian curiously, and a little frightened. "Can you help him?" _______
Koschei tilted his head curiously.
"Does this have something to do with those...things on your legs?" He asked, raising an eyebrow and stopping beside Nathan. He hadn't gotten a good look at them earlier, and decided that if Nathan was going to tell him, he'd express his curiosity and try to see them better.
_____
"That can easily be done." Drasha said with a grin. "I should know who my students are within a couple of days." She tilted her head, seeing now how Emmehudijat's mind worked. This would be a perfect arrangement, she thought, and laughed softly as she glanced back at the crowd.
"Is there anyone you would like me to keep an eye on when I know?" Perhaps he would have someone already in mind, if he was asking her to spy.

Tyler nodded at Rodaj's realization. Then he managed to ask, "Telepathy? I can't when I'm like this....I think you know my father...he's in the Citadel..."
He didn't know whether or not the Librarian could speak telepathically to his father. He hoped that she at least knew who his father was. He happened to have a picture of his family -- his brother and his father, and took it out, showing it to Rodaj. If they couldn't get his father, then they could maybe get his brother. His brother knew telepathy...but his father didn't know that the boys knew it. _________ Nathan nodded, half relieved that at least Koschei had already seen his legs -- probably when he either had gotten up or sat down in the garden.
"Yeah," he responded to Koschei. He lifted up his robes so that Koschei could see.
________ Elougougol waited for the librarian he had spoken with to say anything. If the boys wouldn't get into trouble that way, he could always find his father and make up something for them.
When he felt that the librarian person was going to check on the boys, he slipped away through the back doors of the library, going in search of his father. Finally spotting him, he found him talking to a woman.
Emmehujidat responded to Drasha, "Excellent...and I....."
It was then that Elougougol ran up to his father, making sure to cry. "Daddy, these annoying boys were at the library and they tried to start a fight with me...oh, and they talked back to me."
Emmehujidat frowned at his son. He responded, "We can't have anyone treating you like that....who were they?"
Elougougol described Tyler and Rodaj. "I don't know their names...but that's what they looked like."
Emmehujidat didn't recognize the description of Rodaj, but Tyler he knew. "Well, I don't know the one boy...but the other..." he got a particularly nasty look on his face.
"His father works for me, and I haven't been pleased with his...performance.....they boy will answer to his father's mistakes, and also for his own. I won't tolerate anyone treating you that way. So, he was at the library?"
Elougougol nodded. His father smiled, pleased. "You have done well....go back to playing or whatever you want to do."
Elougougol grinned happily, glad that his "problem" would be taken care of...satisfied that his father would do something.
Emmehujidat turned back to Drasha. "Well, that answers your question. I want you to keep an eye on the blond boy that he described."

Rodaj tilted his head and looked at the picture, smiling softly. "They look nice...that's your brother and father, then?" He blinked and frowned slightly. "But...I don't know telepathy..." he said softly, shaking his head. _________
Koschei peered down at Nathan's legs and frowned lightly.
"What are they?" He asked, having never seen another person with braces or other supports on any of their limbs before. As far as he knew, no one ever wore those things. ____________
Drasha grinned and nodded. "Perfect. I'm sure I could..pull a few strings and make sure he gets put into one of my classes, for a start..."

The Librarian grimaced, then nodded. She tried to reach her mind out to Tylerhathan, trying to communicate the situation, but the message was jumbled and garbled.
*** Kyra sat on the steps of the library, feeling completely lost. Where could her mother be?

Tylerhathan received the unexpected telepathic message, not understanding a word of it, but fully understanding who sent it. There could only be one person who would send him a telepathic message like that -- the Librarian. He had no idea where she was, but the first place to look would be her house and garden. The fact that she had contacted him telepathically was somewhat puzzling, as the High Council had forbidden them to interact at all. However, as a Gallifreyan citizen, he reasoned, she must be aware that it was registration day for the eight year olds. Perhaps she remembered when his children were born and simply wanted to ask how they were. It had been a while since she'd seen them -- the last time he remembered her seeing them was while they were still babies.
He sent a telepathic message back to the Librarian, "All right...I'll be right there. The first thing I'll have to do is find you....Are you at home? That's where I will try first."
He wasn't sure she would be able to receive his message properly, or if she could send a clear, 'yes or no...' but he would try. ____________ The particular picture that Tyler had, Nathan didn't really like -- it showed Nathan's braces, and he was embarrassed by that. Tyler liked it, though, as it was one of the only pictures that he actually owned. His father had given it to him as a gift. Some of his mother's writing was on the back -- though that was only due to the fact that Tyerhathan had found a scrap of paper with her writing on it and was able to get it onto the back of the picture.
Tyler's breathing was bad, so all he did was nod at his friend. __________ Nathan replied to Koschei, "They're braces -- my legs are crooked, and these help to straighten them out."
Taking a deep breath, Nathan sat down on the grass and started to take the braces off so that Koschei could see his legs without them on. ________ Emmehudjidat nodded, raising an eyebrow. "Oh...and he has a twin -- his twin has brown hair and brown eyes and doesn't look a lot like him...."
His son's interruption had worked out perfectly. He could talk about those he wanted watched without having Drasha make a connection between his earlier questions and his request.

Koschei blinked and leaned forward on his knees, watching as Nathan removed his braces.
"What happened to them?" He asked, caught between leaning even closer and scooting away, as if whatever made his friend's legs that way was contagious.
________ "And you want me to look out for him as well, is that right?" She asked, catching on quickly. "Fair enough."
Drasha smiled rather wickedly and nodded. "What about that other boy your son mentioned? It seems like they're..friends." She smirked. "Is he of interest to you?"

Nathan eyed Koschei, watching his reaction carefully. Seeing a bit of hesitation and the way he seemed to be wavering between looking at his legs closer or moving away, Nathan shrugged.
"Nothing....I was jut born this way. My legs have always been like this....they were actually worse before I got the braces. I think it might be something that might be hereditary or something...I don't know. I asked my dad about it once. He told me something about one of my mother's uncles having the same problem," Nathan answered. _______________ Emmehujidat nodded at Drasha, "Yes, I would like you to look out for his brother...oh, and yes...his friend...any friends that either of them make that seem to be good friends."

Koschei arched an eyebrow uncertainly.
"Really?" He frowned. He could just leave him here....he should just leave him here. Head back to the Citadel and meet someone who isn't...deformed. It wouldn't be hard. Rassilon knows he'd brushed off plenty of other children for less..
Instead, he reached out and hesitantly touched the side of one of Nathan's braces.
__________
Drasha nodded again. "Alright. I'll pay particular attention to them, then. Now..."
She smiled sweetly this time, no hint of wickedness on her face. She wanted to make sure Emmehujidat would make good on his word. "When will I get my part of the deal?"

The Librarian sent positive thoughts to Tylerhathan in affirmation. She looked over at Tyler, worry clear on her face. She had only seen him when he was so young, but occasionally she might have seen glimpses of him and his brother. Even those were brief though. God she missed Kari.
