The Second Doctor smiled as he gazed up into the stars, so very far away. The London sky was one of his very favorite things to lay down stare at. And though no one accompanied him to his little escapade, and parting was such sweet sorrow, he felt at peace for once in his busy Timelord life.
He stood up and began walking to the Tardis before everything went to flames. The Doctor had just gotten his hand to the door and was preparing to open it when his Tardis faded and his hand held on only to air. "Oh, no!" he said in agitation.
The small man fell over, off-balance from the Tardis disappearance. He guessed there was no reason he shouldn't just turn over and look at the stars a bit. And so he did. They were just as beautiful as before.
Until he noticed a circular movement. It was like a... A... Black hole in the sky. His hand flew to his pocket, and he pointed his sonic screwdriver at the swirling vortex. Before he had time to check the results, the sonic flew out of his hand and into the sky.
The Doctor's eyes bulged out in shock. A swirling vortex in the sky, hundreds of feet wide, miles in the sky, that sucked up all alien technology. He was unarmed for the job, and of course he'd have to solve it. He dearly hoped he could.

Gwen was in the hub on her computer. She hadn't seen anyone else all day, though she supposed Jack could be skulking around his office, Owen in the med-bay, and Tosh and Ianto somewhere else. In any event, it was very quiet.
Suddenly, there was a loud bang. And another. It was coming from the vault. Gwen grabbed her gun from her desk, and held it in front of her as she left her computer. She very slowly approached the alien artifacts vault, when there was a sound; like tinfoil tearing.
The resurrection gauntlet came whizzing out of the vault, tearing through the foot thick steel door. Then, the life knife shot out through another part of the door, narrowly missing Gwen. She could feel it slice off the last inch of her hair as it flew past her ear.
"What?!" she shouted, as more of the artifacts came flying out. The book reader, the perfume, the portable prison, all flew out of the door. Gwen watched helplessly as they all continued upwards, eventually tearing out of the roof.
Gwen then ran over to the scenic exit. She stepped on the lift, and looked up, only to notice the unnoticeable tile was gone! She continued up and up, wishing that the stupid lift was faster. Finally, she popped out of the top, next to the water tower, only to be greeted by a terrible sight.
A black vortex, bigger than anything she had ever seen, was off in the distance. All of the alien artifacts were flying towards it; even the tile with that malfunctioning chameleon circuit effect thing! The vortex was huge, and it seemed to be situated above London. Gwen began sprinting for the S.U.V.

"Well you see Sarah," the Fourth Doctor was explaining as he messed with some of the controls on the Tardis console. Making a smooth landing as he continued.
"The problem with making a plan and expecting it to go exactly as you planned it.." The Doctor paused taking his greyish-brown adventurer's hat off the coat stand and placing it on his head.
The Doctor grinned manically at Sarah Jane before opening the Tardis door and nearly jumping outside. "Is that it always,"
Feeling his hat threatening to be blown off his head, he grabbed onto it with his hand, holding it in place as he looked up at the night sky. "Turns out not as you planned it."
He observed the black hole like vortex with excitement and possibly a bit of wariness, noting the strange color and the many objects that were being sucked into it.
"Now I wonder what that is?" The Doctor looked towards Sarah Jane as he asked. His eyes sparkling with the eager intent of investigating.

He rarely told her where he was going, and half the times he did, they wound up somewhere else. Sarah didn't care. She just wanted to see what was next. She was ready for anything in the military togs she'd picked up on Skaro. They were a boy's size and she practically had to paint them on, but she felt tough in them. Especially the big black boots.
She went with the Doctor as he exited the TARDIS like a watermelon seed.
"-not always as you planned it." She said together with him, grabbing on to his free arm as the wind outside sucked her dark hair into a vortex around her face and tugged at her clothes. With a hand she scraped her hair away from her face to look into the sky.
She'd seen a tornado too close once. This wasn't anything like that. It was more like watching water get sucked down into an enormous sink drain, only up into the sky and the color of a bruise. Debris spiraled up into the empty, strange hole blacker than black at it's very center, swirling. "Now I wonder what that is?" The Doctor mused, and when she turned to look at him, her hair was sucked up and out of the way so she could see his face. Not grumpy at all today. He looked ready for the chase. It was going to be a busy day. She was excited.
"Do we run? Or do we fly?" She asked grinning, with a small jerk of her chin toward the TARDIS when she said 'fly'.

The Doctor, who was attempting to calm his nerves by desperately playing his recorder. Luckily it wasn't alien- humans were music geniuses and he loved it. But unfortunately he wasn't thinking about that, and a frantic tune of Shakespeare was simply helping to put him on edge.
To his infinite surprise, he heard another Tardis. He didn't think other Timelords came to earth, but he was glad one had. When he turned around a tall and scarfed being walked out of...his Tardis? It was a blue box, just like his. "Oy! I'm having a bit of an odd day!" he said, waving his recorder manically.
He was unbelievably happy to see the other Timelord. Not to mention the young lady accompanying him.

Gwen was driving like a bat out of hell. The S.U.V luckily had fantastic capabilities, because the roads were crowded with the scared and confused. She watched from the side window as more artifacts leaked towards the vortex from Cardiff Bay. There seemed to be another steady stream in London. She continued driving.
Soon, Gwen was in the outskirts of London, steadily drawing in. The G.P.A in the car was telling her she was now in Ealing, London. She briefly saw where the second stream of artifacts was coming from; a house on Bannerman road. She thought nothing of it though and kept driving.
Gwen had now reached metropolitan London. She was driving towards the area below the center of the vortex, when she saw a blue box pop out of thin air. There were two men; one with a recorder and one who had just walked out of the box, and a woman. The woman looked very familiar.
"Is that Sarah Jane?" Gwen watched the people as she drove to the curb and parked the car. After a second a squinting, she could tell it was Sarah Jane, though she looked like she had just gotten a face lift.
Gwen got out of the car and ran over to the group of people. "Hey, Sarah Jane!" Gwen shouted, waving at Sarah Jane.

The Doctor looked down at Sarah with a grin. "Do we run? Or do we fly?" She asked with a nudge toward the Tardis when she said the word 'fly'.
"My dear Sarah Jane, I believe we should run to the Tardis, then fly." He answered, his tone sounding a bit mischivious. "With a bit of clever inspecting I think we'll be ab-" He stopped talking when he heard something, (or rather someone,) very familier.
"Oy! I'm having a bit of an odd day!"
The Doctor's face fell slightly as he turned to see his incarnation from two regenerations back. He sighed as he watched his shorter younger self waving his recorder in the air, obviously trying to get their attention.
"That..." The Doctor began motionening to himself. "Is an even better reason we should go right now."
After all this was a paradox, one he didn't remember. Which meant something was wrong with time, again. And that made the Doctor curious about what was causing time to be rewritten, or possibly, who.
"Then again, he could know something about this." His regular manic grin appeared on his face as he looked at Sarah Jane, and asked. "What do you think?"

She followed the Doctor's startled gaze to the dark haired man who came toward them. The Doctor's eyes were as wide as she'd ever seen them. Something was afoot.
"I haven't gotten through my five impossible things before breakfast, Doctor, I'm only halfway there. By the look of you, I bet he has a story."
And so they went, but as they did, closing the gap between them, Sarah heard her name behind them. She heard it again and looked back to see a dark haired woman jogging to her. She stopped, letting loose of the Doctor's hand. "Be right there." she said absently. It did not matter if he heard the words or not, their hands had said as much to each other already as she let go.
Sarah Jane watched the woman approach and tilted her head, trying to recall and unable to. "Hello?"

Gwen approached Sarah Jane, slowing down as she got a few feet from her.
"Hey, Sarah Jane. I thought I might see some familiar face at the heart of all this." Gwen looked up at the vortex, squinting a bit, but then looked back at Sarah Jane.
"Although your face is less familiar than I thought. Did you get botox or something? I mean, you looked young for your age before, but I've never met a fifty year old that looks like that."

For one exciting moment she thought that not only was she about to meet her future self, but that along the way, she'd grown taller. Unrealistic, but a girl could always hope and it suspended her disbelief for a moment.
The woman's words were harsh and strange, and she stumbled back away from her. She knew enough to know that perhaps she was time looped with her, but somehow, the words were hurtful. Disturbing. After walking backward a few steps, she turned and loped after the Doctor, striding up beside him and slipping her hand in his, now looking over her shoulder at the other woman suspiciously.

Gwen saw the distressed look on Sarah Jane's face. Suddenly, she realized something. She repeated her words back to herself, under her breath.
"I've never seen a fifty year old that looks like that..."
Gwen turned to Sarah Jane. "When we first met, you said you traveled through space and time." She looked at Sarah Jane's features. "You must be younger than I am..." Gwen felt the very slight scar on her cheek where the weevil had scratched her before when she was defending Sarah Jane.
"Look, I know you when you're a lot older." She looked at Sarah Jane, to the one man, to the other. "I thought as some kind of time traveler you'd be more accustomed to this type of thing."
She turned back to the vortex. "But never mind all of this weird time stuff. What is that?"

The mad woman followed her and burst right into the conversation. She didn't like anything else the woman had to say and did her best to not hear it. Being a woman of careful words, she knew not to use any weak ones now. She tucked in close to the Doctor's side until the very tip of her nose barely brushed his sleeve, eying the Welsh woman. She didn't like the Welsh.
Still that giant swirling drain still spun above, battering them all with its wind. The Doctor made a fine wind break, but she'd have to find a way to tame her shoulder length turbo charged hair very shortly.

In this entire mix-up, the couple had forgotten him. Funny how strange women in strange SUVs have that effect. So, he unscrewed the top of his recorder and blew the highest note he could at the loudest he could. When one was to look back at him, the little man was grinning innocently, the recorder held over his should.
"Do I have your attention? Good," he chimed in his Doctorly way, "Now please attempt to direct your attention to the skies, not the young lady's Botox."
He pointed above his head to the vortex, "That thing took my Tardis and my sonic screwdriver. If it's alien, I wouldn't bother holding on..pftt, didn't help me." he claimed.

Gwen looked at the man blowing the recorder. "That thing took my Tardis and my sonic screwdriver. If it's alien, I wouldn't bother holding on..pftt, didn't help me."
Gwen looked at the other people in the group. "He's right," she pointed at the two distant streams of objects, one of them much closer than the other. "That stream all the way over there is from Cardiff bay, and that other one is from Bannerman Road. Both of them have alien artifacts that are getting pulled up into that vortex."
She looked at the guy with the recorder. "But you seem like you know what you're talking about, so how do we close that vortex?" Gwen knew that this was going to be difficult. The only useful tech still at the hub would be the Rift Manipulator, and she had no idea how to work that. It was just Gwen, an S.U.V, and her gun.

The Doctor gently squeezed Sarah Jane's hand as she took hold of his. Trying to reassure her that everything was going to be just fine. It normally was, when they weren't being chased by mummies, or Weryns.
He took notice of the other woman's sudden appearance, mainly the fact that she claimed she knew Sarah Jane in the future. It was possible, after all, when one time travels, one could never keep timelines straight.
All of a sudden a high pitch sound reached the Doctor's ears. When he looked at the source of the noise, he grimanced and wonder why he ever had that thing. He also saw his younger self attempting to look innocent about the sound.
"Do I have your attention? Good." The younger Doctor chimed in his usual way. "Now please attempt to the skies, not the young ladies botox."
"Yes, I've already taken notice of the strange vortex..." The fourth Doctor sighed, he was starting to get bored just standing here, looking at the vortex, when what he wanted to do was get a bit closer and find out what it was. Maybe where it went. Now that sounded fun.
"That thing took my Tardis and my sonic screwdriver,"
"It did what now?!" The Doctor had a look of shock on his face. Partly because he could not believe that his younger self would actually take the sonic out for this, and mostly because he let it take the Tardis.
It took The Tardis! The Tardis. This did not look good for them at the moment. This vortex/blackhole was sucking up almost everything alien around.
Making a split decision, the Doctor looked at Sarah Jane, his regular grin back in place as he took out a bag of candy and offered her one. "Sarah Jane, I think we get back into the Tardis and quick." Then turning to his younger self and the welsh woman, he said offering them some as well. "Are you two coming along too? Or do you want to stay here?"
