Bryan took a deep breath and sighed as he stood at the plaza in front of Millennium Centre. He was wearing his swim trunks and sandals and his towel over his shoulders. He looked over the bay and smiled. This wasn't like back home, less water, more restrictions. Finally he put the towel and his gloves on the short wall as he pushed himself up to stand on it.

"I get weird looks for my eyes as well." He said.
She could understand why because they were such a bright green but they weren't nearly as odd as hers. He probably got just about as many comments as she did.
"I'm Rio." he told her.
She smiled before replying, "River, nice. Pleasure to meet you Rio, I'm Nieve." It wasa strange coincidence that they both had Spanish names. Part of her had always hated her name, Snow White. A helpless princess, she wanted to be anything but that. The larger part of her though loved her name because it was unique, had meaning, and was special to her.

River and Snow. What a pair they made. "That's a nice name." He had always thought his name was weird. Such a Spanish name, and yet his family was entirely French. Well - except for his mother, but it wasn't like Rio knew that. His gaze lowered to his feet. This day had been incredibly odd. First he met a man that had impossibly white hair, and now a girl with impossibly coloured eyes. Maybe they could create a club. The 'Weird Physical Traits' club. WPT for short.
"We both have Spanish names that relate to nature." He looked at her bag cautiously. Perhaps they were both vagabonds; he didn't want to presumptious. Perhaps she just liked her worn bag. It was obvious that Rio himself was homeless. The rips in his shirt, the dirt on his face, and his shirt really had been white before. He smiled at her happily. His real name wasn't Rio - no, it was his middle name. He just didn't like his first name. What kind of name was Xavier anyway?

"That's a nice name. We both have Spanish names that relate to nature." he said.
"Yeah, thanks." she replied. She noticed the way his eyes kept darting to her bag and she knew immediately he was curious about whether or not she was a wanderer. She was always careful to keep clean and tidy because otherwise she tended to gain notice and that was what she was trying to avoid. She decided to relieve him of his curiosity so she asked even though it was obvious, "Are you a wanderer too?"

Are you a wanderer too?
Rio laughed softly at her question. "Yes. Ever since I can remember." He could overflow from happiness at the thought that finally someone was a vagabond besides him! And she didn't seem to be miserable about the fact. Then his smile faltered as he thought over what he said. Ever since I can remember. That was true; but he had never been alone. Except now, with his father dead, that's exactly what he was. Alone.
The girl didn't ring out as a typical wanderer. She was clean - which Rio himself usually was, but he had fallen flat on his face in some dirt earlier that day - which included her clothes. He tilted his head slightly. Maybe she just didn't want to be noticed. "Where were you headed?" He asked, taking a tentative step closer.

"Yes. Ever since I can remember."
"Same here, why stay one place all your life when you can see the world and be free." Wandering was one of the few things she was extremely passionate about and it was always nice to meet someone who felt the same.
"Where were you headed?" He asked, taking a tentative step closer.
She couldn't help but move backwards slightly as he took a step closer. She had personal space issues, had for as long as she could remember. She ignored the uncomfortable feeling in the pit of her stomach once more and replied, "Just the park down the street for now but who knows after that."

He grinned, the thoughts about his father being pushed back deep inside him. "Exactly. People think they need money to see the beauty of the world," he scoffed playfully. Maybe people needed money to travel legally, but one look at Riocard's criminal record would show that he's anything but worried about legal. Although he knew that one day it was going to come back to haunt him - when he's old and crippled and can't run from the police. Eh. He'd make sure he was somewhere in South America by then.
As she took a step back, so did he. He knew that some people had personal bubbles as big as New York. Rio was claustrophobic - hence the reason he stayed out in the open instead of skulking about alleys. "Ah. Parks are fun." He took another step backwards. This time it was because he didn't want to be pompous and invite himself with her to the park. He had no idea where he had been walking, he just knew he had to move. Call it wanderer's intuition.

"Exactly. People think they need money to see the beauty of the world,"
"Money gets you places faster but it isn't the destination that is the best part it's the journey." She had never had money, growing up in an orphanage she hadn't needed money and living on the streets required very little. She felt that money complicated everything. She could always find other ways to get what she needed.
"Ah. Parks are fun."
She liked the country side much more than the city but it was a lot harder to live in the country with no money or anything. "You should see the one down the street." she told him. It was one of her favourite parks. She was subtly trying to imply that he could come it he wanted. She usually didn't get along well with other people but there was something about this guy. It was like he was a kindred spirit.

Bryan looked over the water. Traffic was low, so he didn't have to worry about any vessels coming around to ruin his swim. Water was mostly calm.
Finally, he dove off the edge and landed in the water with limited splash. He dove down as his hands slowly became webbed again.
(Oh, just so you know, trying to give Captain Jack something to do)

You should see the one down the street.
Was that an invitation? After a few moments of thoughtful silence he decided that yes. Yes, it was an invitation. He smiled cheerfully and nodded. "I'd love to." He said and took another step forward. Something told him that the woman really wasn't too keen on company which made him feel all the more giddy. Somebody actually didn't mind his company!
"Lead the way, mademoiselle." He grinned cheekily, taking off his head and making a sweeping gesture.
ooc| for such a crappy little response it took so long to write. D8

You should see the one down the street. just after saying that there was a lengthy pause and she was almost positive he was trying to find a way out of it. So she was completely dismayed when he smiled at her and told her, "I'd love to." She was completely amazed tat this strange man wanted to spend time with her.
"Lead the way, mademoiselle." He grinned cheekily, taking off his head and making a sweeping gesture.
She couldn't help but laugh at his outrageous movements. With out even thinking she replied, "Right this way, my good sir." She was surprised at her self for actually letting go with his guy but she was glad that she was. It had been a long time since she had felt this comfortable with someone else.

Bryan closed his eyes as he swam. He took a deep breath through his gills and smiled. "It has been far too long..." he thought. He opened his eyes, his father's sea-loving eyes, and took in the murky waters. He missed the crystal-clear waters of his homeworld.

Jack was standing atop a building near the bay when he saw a flash of white dive into the water of the bay. He knew almost instantly that it was Bryan Wilkeson because there were very few people with hair like that and the majority were old people but the water was much too cold for the elderly this time of year.(I'm making it either fall or winter. Hope no one minds) He decided to head down to the bay and speak to Bryan about the possibility of working for Torchwood.

ooc| -palmface- I had meant to say 'hat' not 'head'. I'm so brilliant.

He replaced his hat as she indicated for him to follow her. Rio walked a bit closer to her, still trying to leave enough room open so that she wouldn't feel trapped. He had just earlier had a wicked dose of his claustrophobia and he wouldn't wish for anyone in the world to feel like that. Nieve seemed to be lowering her shackles, but Rio didn't want to tempt her into going back into the shell she had been in.
But a silent Rio was a very awkward Rio. He knew that you didn't barrage a shy person with questions - something he always did - but if he didn't ask questions then what was he supposed to say? He could comment on the weather. "I like your eyes." He told her with a friendly smile. "Two of my favorite colors together." Green and silver. Of course, he liked pink better than both green and silver, but he wasn't going to admit it. That was a surefire way to make people think you were about as masculine as Tinkerbell.

*Wow, Taking off your head must take a lot of effort. Hehehe. Just Joking!*
She realised that he was purposefully walking closer to her than he had been before and it caused her to tense up slightly but after a minute or two she relaxed once more. It wasn't really being close to people that was the problem it was more like the feelings that she got from people if they got too close. At the moment the man next to her was giving out no major negative emotions so she wasn't really worried.
"I like your eyes." He told her with a friendly smile. "Two of my favorite colors together."
She smiled at him hesitantly before replying, "Thanks, They remind me of the moon and trees in the forest, two of my favourite things. Well I don't actually see them much because there my eyes and it's hard to see your eyes and-" She cut herself off as soon as she realised that she had started to ramble. She she lowered her eyes and blushed furiously.
