Simon said "Ok Gylfie." He walked behind her, and when they arrived at the tourist office, he looked around the room. He said "So, this is the main way into the Hub? Thats cool." He rubbed the back of his head again. The head ache was beginning to get worse. He closed his eyes for a second, and tried to think of other things to keep his mind off the pain, but it wasn't working. He opened his eyes again and said "Do you have any asprin here?" Some humans might think since he was an alien, he would not be able to take asprin. This wasn't the case though. Simon's physiology was close to a humans, and asprin would have no bad effect on him.

Ooc; I've read your reply and everything, but I'm afraid I'll be unable to reply until later today or perhaps even tomorrow. It's my friend's birthday today, so I'm going to celebrate it with her and some others.
I hope you don't mind, love.

"I'm sure I can fine some aspirin around here somewhere," she said with a self-assured grin. She moved haphazardly behind the reception desk and began rummaging through drawers, eventually finding a box of aspirin. "No water. Do you want to take it dry or wait until I can find you some water?"
She moved back to Simon and handed him the little white box, taking care not to drop it. Now that they were inside again, she didn't feel as sober. She was, however, able to see and hear properly.
While waiting for Simon's response, she went back to the desk and pressed the button, opening the hidden door. Still waiting, she headed through the doorway and turned back to look at Simon. Hopefully, he would decide to take the tablets dry. She had no idea if there was any spare water bottles around and drinking from the faucets never seemed healthy.

Simon said "Sure. I can take the asprin dry." He opened the box, and took 2 asprin out. He popped them into his mouth and swallowed. He put the box back on the desk and went over to gylfie and said "Thanks for this gylfie." He suddenly remembered something. "Wait. I've heard of the leader of the torchwood in cardiff. Jack harkness." Simon was thinking thoughtfully now. He looked at gylfie and said "Do you think i would be able to join torchwood if i asked him? I mean, i would like to make a difference on here." He was hoping he would be able to join.

Gylfie beckoned for Simon to follow her as she mulled over his question. Could he join Torchwood? She highly doubted it, due to his apparent shyness and alien origin. Of course, it wouldn't be the first time an alien had worked for them. There was Bryan and, at one stage, some guy called Adam. Jack himself wasn't an average human.
But his invisibility would be so useful! She thought as they arrived at the cog door. It spun open automatically, revealing the splendor of the Hub.
"This is the actual Hub," she said, waving around the room. "As for the job position... I think it's possible, but you'll need to ask Jack and he's not here right now. He should be back soon. In the meantime, would you like me to check you over for any bruising or broken bones? It looks like you've had a rough trip."

Simon looked in awe around the hub. It was a nice place. He nodded and said "Yeah, i could do with a check up. I think i might need one after my fall." He winced, as he felt his knee pop into place. He said "My knee popped out, but its back in place now." He rubbed the back of his head and followed gylfie. He then said "And if i can join i would to my best to not be clumsy or shy. The shyness, i can't guarentee i can stop."

Gylfie beckoned for him to follow her again, leading the way to the autopsy room. It wouldn't be the most comfortable environment for a check-up, but that's where most of the medical instruments were kept.
"I'm not sure shyness would be a major problem," she said, walking down the steps and into the chilled area below. "The inability to talk to others wouldn't stop you from being a valuable asset. However, communication is still a major part of being in a team. Please sit."
While gesturing for him to sit on the edge of the metal bed, she reached out and picked up a stethoscope. It was cold and heavy in her hand. Hopefully, Simon wouldn't go invisible again at the shock of the icy metal against his chest. She really needed to know if his heart was at a normal rate... that is, if he had an average human heart.
"Lift your shirt up," she said, her back to him. She was shuffling through the needles and medication on one of the trays, searching for some rubber gloves.

Simon sat on the edge of the metal bed, and opened the buttons of his shirt. He pulled his shirt open, and he had a scar by his ribs. He said "Don't worry about the scar. It happened about a year ago, when i was in a fight with a krillitane. Those things are tough." He eyed the stethoscope and said "I think i will still be visible if you put that on my chest. Oh, and my heartbeat is a bit faster then a humans." Simon heard someone come into the hub and said "Who might that be?"

Ooc; I have yet to make the Jack account, but I'll see what I can do in the meantime.
The thin rubber of the gloves snapped as Gylfie released the pliable fabric from her grasp. They were snug and almost blocked the feeling of the cold as she held the stethoscope again.
"Thank you for that crucial piece of information," she said seriously as she placed the metallic knob against Simon's chest and plugged the nodules into her ears. The quick rush of blood soon greeted her, coming in a quick wa-woosh wa-woosh wa-woosh noise. "Well, it sounds normal. A little bit faster, like you said, but no obstruction or critical problems."
She removed an ear piece just in time to hear the cog door roll open and Simon ask who it might be. According to the heavy click click of heels, it had to be Jack. Ianto's steps were wider and lighter; Gwen's were thicker, but soft; Tosh's had always been fast and high, as if she were always on the defense; whereas Owen's footsteps were fat and lazy, someone who walked where and when they wanted to.
"Jack," Gylfie said, answering Simon and calling to her Captain at the same time. "Jack, we have a... traveler down here."
She waited for a response, listening as the footsteps faltered when she spoke. Silence filled the Hub for a minute or two, before the feet began approaching.

Unlike the rest of his team, Captain Jack Harkness had a strong tolerance for alcohol. You could not live for hundreds of years, only to get wasted on a few light beers. His body was used to repairing his mind after a night out with his colleagues and his liver had turned into lump of steel after his first alcohol poisoning. Alcohol was just a blip on his "things that can kill me" monitor.
The weather had turned sour once more as he returned to the Hub. The rain ran like rivers of crystal down his cheeks, catching on strands of hair and gathering at the ends before falling onto his shirt. He was almost completely soaked through.
Why waste time and energy by going through the perception filter? Might as well walk the extra fifty meters to the shop, he thought cheerfully. He continued walking, tall and proud with his hands tucked deep into the pockets of his slacks.
The warmth and shelter of the shop soon engulfed him, followed quickly by the fresh crispness of the corridors and then the Hub itself. Each new door he stepped through was like a breath of fresh air. He loved this place. This was a home he could actually imagine keeping. Such a thought made him smile and close his eyes, removing his jacket and throwing it on the couch next to the door. Home.
Home and Ianto.
Ianto. His name still sent shivers up Jack's spine, though it should not. It should definitely not. Jack could not settle with anyone, for their own safety. He was a fixed point in time and able to live forever. He would slowly watch his team die... he did not wish to see his lover die too.
He muttered something incomprehensible, realizing that he had stopped walking. He needed the confines of his office and the quiet that laid beneath the floorboards. He was almost to the stairs, when he heard the sweet, accented voice of Gylfie. It sounded thick with alcohol, but that was not what worried Jack the most. No, there were two other reasons; first, it sounded like she was talking to someone, which was not exactly comforting; second, she was in the autopsy room.
"Gylfie," he said seriously, jogging to the metal railing and peering over. A wide-eyed boy and an ill-looking woman greeted his view. "Is everything alright? Who's this, then?"
He couldn't help the cheeky grin that fell upon his face. His eyes immediately began sparkling, his pearly teeth just as bright. A devil in a human disguise, someone had once referred to him as. He couldn't remember who, but anyone looking at him now would agree. He had just found his next victim. If only Ianto would let him have his way for once.

Simon looked at the man, and he suddenly went nervous again. It was the grin the man had that made him nervous, but his nervousness took over, and his hands and head shook at lightning speed as he involuntarily went invisible. He cursed and turned visible again. He said "Sorry about that. Just, sometimes when i get nervous or scared, my invisibility kicks in. Its sort of like a defense mechanism. But, its also a pain." He looked at the man and said "My name is simon. Your captain jack harkness?" He smiled at them man, but it was easy to see in his smile he was nervous.

Gylfie glanced at Jack briefly, but made no move to speak. She didn't know if Simon wanted to stay anonymous or whether he'd turn invisible again. Before her eyes, he began to flicker, before going completely invisible.
Oh dear! She thought, looking up at Jack again. How will he react?
Torchwood 3 was not her home. It was not her place to bring in randoms off the street, especially randoms who could turn invisible. She would get a scolding, no doubt about that, but hopefully her daintiness would cause Jack to be a bit softer on her. She had seen what happened when Owen had seduced an alien and Jack had gone off. Right off. Then again, he was only angry because Owen had done it before.
Once he and Simon had finished speaking, she spoke up. "He's safe, Jack, honest!"

Jack let out a sound half-way between a snort and a chuckle. His expression revealed no surprise or fear, only bemusement. It was as if he had been through this all before.
"Gylfie," he said slowly, his tone a mixture of scolding and playfulness. He began his way down the stairwell, never taking his eyes off Simon. "You know not to let strangers in without my permission. I'm going to have to assume that he was hurt or something of the like..."
Eventually, he found his way to her side and placed a firm hand on her shoulder. It was his only exertion of authority. Overall, he was still the smiling, bright-eyed Jack. However, he was now on the defense.
He'd been through all of this before, it was true. At one stage, Toshiko had brought in a strange man. Not on purpose, of course, but it had still turned into a memorable event. Only after this stranger lost concentration for a second, did anyone notice he was in the Hub... in the girls' bathroom... watching Gwen while she "went". The situation had quickly been contained, but Gwen had never used the Hub bathrooms again.
Anyway, Gylfie confirmed that Simon had been hurt, apology clear in her voice. At the soft, lilting sound, Jack softened his grip and wrapped an arm around her instead.
"Well, it's alright. I'm sure Simon won't, you know, kill us," he smiled tensely at the boy and offered his hand. "Captain Jack Harkness. It's a pleasure to meet you."

Simon shook his hand and said "Nice to meet you captain." The vortex manipulator on simon's wrist was visible, and he said "OK, you may have noticed my vortex manipulator. I wasn't in the time agency captain, though i did meet an agent of theirs once. Saved me from a dalek, but died in the process. I took the manipulator, as it was my only transport, and a blaster the agent had. I know it seems wrong to take the agents things, but i thought that they would be useful later."
Simon pulled out the blaster, and said "Alpha meson blaster. It has gotten me out of some tough situations." Simon was much more calm now. He wasn't as nervous as he had been. He said "Captain, i have a question." He stood up,and buttoned his shirt up. He then said "My question is this: I am wondering, would it be possible for me to join torchwood 3? The reason i am asking is a simple reason." He looked at both gylfie and jack, and his eyes had turned green. he said "I am the last of my race. I have nowhere else to go, and i want to make a difference on earth."

The sparkle left Jack's eyes as Simon explained the vortex manipulator clinging to his wrist. He hadn't noticed it, but now that he did, he was wary. Simon was an alien - that much was already obvious - and he had alien technology, which was against the Torchwood rules.
All alien technology is to remain in the Hub, he thought strictly, the words echoing like an order inside his head. At this thought, his eyebrows knitted together slightly. Would he ever be able to tear Simon away from his only means of transport? He could try.
Jack opened his mouth to ask for the device, only to have it snap shut. His right hand pressed against Gylfie's chest forcefully, pushing her behind him. A weapon. Simon had a weapon. Did he not realize the power he had? Did he not see how stupid it was to pull it out in front of strangers? Even Gylfie, a girl who had only handled a gun twice before, knew that it was dangerous. The muffled squeak from behind told him as much.
"We can talk about this once you hand over the weapon," Jack said softly, raising a hand in a comforting motion. "Seriously. There's no need to be armed."
