"Just about the only way one could dissuade Time Pirates from attacking a planet is to convince them of a better planet elsewhere. I know of two they would be interested in but the thing is..do I have the right to do that? What if those other planets have been colonized? I can't send these renegades off on them. But Earth must be spared."
Blackbeard uttered a snort. "Why not jes' engage them in battle? Me crew and I will make 'em shove off far enough!"
"I'm afraid your crew wouldn't be able to hold against them, Captain. Oh not that you're not a great fighter but you'll be up against something you won't have the faintest idea on how to fight. They have weapons and instruments that would render you completely defenseless then utterly lost. Believe me, being marooned on a desert island would be preferable to where they would transport you to." The Doctor rubbed his chin. "I could make a sort of false signal perhaps or maybe.....wait. Yes......yes, that could work! It should, it had better! Tyler, I'll need your help. Dan, bring that....time thingy you have along as well. We need to get into the TARDIS and quickly!"
"Errr...beggin' yer pardon but....would it be all right if I comes along as well?" Blackbeard looked hopeful. He had no clue to what was going on but all the strange talk had made him rather curious. He had never encountered anything like this in all of his years on the seas!
"What? Oh...well....very well. I don't suppose it'll do any harm. Come along, follow me!" The Doctor made his way to the hold where the TARDIS stood, waiting.

Dan just nodded to what the Doctor was saying he was still surprised the doctor had not asked about why he was not helping his own kind, maybe he was too worried about the time pirates to care. He smiled when Blackbeard said his bit "What planets are they anyway Doctor I may have been to them before," he smiled innocently well he had been to plenty of planets before and not all of them was a holiday,
They got near the Tardis causing Dan to wonder actually what was inside it he was eager to know because well he had never seen the inside of one, then he suddenly thought of something "Doctor is it wise to sue the TARDIS if they get a wiff of any signal from it they will ignore any false signal you put in,"

Tyler still had no idea what the Doctor and Dan had been talking about, but he could certainly tell that they knew their subject matter well.
Tyler could only nod in agreement, "Yes....I'll help you.....no problem.....but you'll have to tell me what to do."
Tyler had little time to contemplate his current situation. Before he knew it, the Doctor had rushed off to the hold where he and the Doctor had initially met. As soon as he realized that the Doctor was moving, Tyler quickly followed. He didn't want to be left behind.
Tyler had seen the inside of this TARDIS only once before. He had no idea what else it was capable of, nor did he know what the Doctor had in mind. Eager to learn this, he remained silent in expectation.

As soon as the door was opened the Doctor rushed in. "I'm not going to start the TARDIS, I'm just going to use a bit of power. Let's see now..."
He busied himself adjusting levers, dials and a few switches as Blackbeard edged in. It was odd to see the huge fearsome pirate actually act timid but all this was so beyond him. His eyes were wide and his mouth fell open as he slowly gazed about.
"This be witchcraft! Again!" he gasped. "Tis impossible fer sumpthin' to be bigger in than it be out!"
"Very well, have it your way. It's impossible." The Doctor was too busy pulling out andd re-arranging wires to think of any other explanation. "All we need to do here is....reroute the time wave just a bit, tweak the wavelength, add just a smidgeon of a vortex adjustment and we will be able to make this whole planet disappear from the time pirates' viewpoint! All they'll see will be just a small lonely rocky moon! Dan, if I could borrow that time thingy of yours for just a moment and I'll tell you of the planets you might be interested in."

Dan Noticed the Doctor was a little preoccupied which would be why he had not answered any of Tyler's questions, he just shrugged to himself and watched as The doctor opened the door and rushed on in he decided to let the others go first, he would go in last well because he hated being in front he actually loved being in the back of a line. He noticed Blackbeard stop at the Door he sighed and walked swiftly past him.
as soon a she stepped inside he stopped taking everything in, while he was not surprised it was bigger on the inside he wad surprised about it being seriously huge, his ship while bigger on the inside was not this big. "Well this Is nice, I feel bad for wanting to sell it now," He grinned a little then quickly took of his device on his watch throwing it over to the Doctor, "All yours Doctor I better get it back, I must say hough I don't think my ancestors copied your technology all that well, we did well but no where near this good, well I do believe it was a rogue Time Lord who introduced us to the technology. Tyler, still confused by everything that was being said and done, followed the Doctor into the TARDIS.
Not wanting to disturb the Doctor, but equally unsure of when the next time he would get a chance to come back to this blue box, Tyler decided to ask his question.
"Doctor, since we're here....would you mind if I put my valuables somewhere?" He chanced a glance at the Doctor. "That is, if you aren't busy, sir....I mean...I know you're in the middle of doing something, but....wait...did you say that you're going to make this planet look like it's gone? What?"
Confused, he glanced from the Doctor to Dan to Blackbeard.
A second glance around this spacecraft allowed Tyler the luxury of looking at it a bit more in depth. "What are all these circles doing all over the place?" He pointed to the Gallifreyan writing on the console and on various instruments on the TARDIS. "And what exactly IS this thing?"

"Certainly," the Doctor answered, still engrossed in his tinkering. "There's a safe down there, or here, somewhere. This planet isn't going anywhere, it'll just seem like it wasn't there. Easy enough to block frequencies, especially if you've got enough power and the co-ordinants of what you're wanting to block in the first place. There! That should do it." He stepped back to look up at the monitor, a pleased smile on his face. "I have yet to hear of any civilization to be interested in common space rock, which is what the moon is. So many other places worth bothering, such as the gold planet Voga or the Midas asteroid belt!"
The mention of gold perked Blackbeard up. This, at least, was something he was famillar with. "Gold? There be a planet of gold somewheres?" he said eagerly.
"Yes, but not where one can get to them easily. Once you've spent the money to get a ship, the mining tools, the crews and fuel for the whole thing you barely break even. That's why they're still where they are, sparkly bits in empty space." the Doctor replied. "As for what the TARDIS is, it's a ship. Not one that travels on water but in space. And time as well," he added.

Dan Decided while all this was going on to have a look around the TARDIS a bit just to see if he could make any improvements to his own ship, he had no plans in taking bits of the TARDIS he just wanted to look at bits which may give him some ideas into how to improve his own ship. He sudenlly found soemthing of intreast nodding to it and spoke to the Doctor "Doctor what is that anything you would consider useful?" he grinned at the Doctor and waited for an answer (you can decide what it is)
As he said this he noticed the Doctor had finished trying to dupe his fellow time pirates into thinking this planet was not earth or what ever he was doing, walking over to the scanner he looked at the planet and what it looked like he chuckled. "Well it would stop them but not the adventuring type of Time priate, impressive I must say."

Tyler heard the Doctor's response, and started to look for the safe that he had mentioned. Finding it, he frowned. "Well, I.....I....don't know the combination....there are these circle designs instead of numbers.....and it's probably locked."
He reached his hand out to try it. "Yep....it's locked."
As he was looking at the safe, Tyler looked back at the Doctor at the mention of a planet made of gold. "A planet made of gold......I....I didn't know....you can actually go to other planets?"
"A ship that travels in space...and time....what?" Tyler asked. He had never heard of such a thing. A ship that didn't travel in the water. "Does that...does that mean that you're from the future?" Tyler asked.
Maybe that's what Dan had meant by the Doctor being a Time Lord. So if Dan knew of this, then that would mean that Dan was probably from the future as well.

The Doctor shrugged. "Future, past, present, it all depends on just where you are at the moment, doesn't it?" He stopped working long enough to give Tyler a broad grin. "I mean, if we went back a few days, wouldn't this now be the future? Wait a couple of days and it'll be past. I prefer to think in the here and now myself."
"Belay that a moment," Blackbeard was scratchign his head. "Ye mean ye goes through time? So is this the past? Or the future to ye?"
"Both, considering I've been in this time frame more than once." That reply only confused the pirate further.
"Now ye can't be in two places at the same time!" he protested! "Tis against the law of reason!"
"One thing I've never been accused of is being reasonable. Let's see." the Doctor paused, thinking how to easily explain things. "Say we're standing on a sand bar and there's several rivers on either side. Some are faster than others and go in different directions. While you take one and paddle down it I'll be going on all the others. Sometimes I'll be in one place, then sail up another to be in another place. Timestreams are like that. Understand?"
Blackbeard pondered this theory a moment then shook his head. "I'll be stickin' to piratin'," he scowled. "Tis easier on the brains!"

Tyler scrunched up his eyebrows in order to try to understand what the Doctor was saying. "Wait...how can you travel in time....isn't that impossible? But you obviously have.....so......"
He glanced again at the locked safe door. "Any chance you can help me...I don't know what these circles mean." He pointed at the Gallifreyan numbers that were printed on the safe combination.
"It sounds like Dan also travels in time......interesting concept....so I suppose that I will be seeing the both of you in the future? Or other time travelers?"

Dan looked up from what he had been studying realizing the doctor had not asked his question about what it was, he bent down putting on some random glasses he had in his pocket then taking them off. He then tapped his device that because he was in the tardis had changed from an eye patch to something else. "Interesting equipment that," he said pointing to what he had been studying.
"Well Tyler you will see me either plundering or on holiday, a holiday would be preferable right now though," he went over to where tyler was with the safe looking at symbols only being able to read a few letters and nothing else.

"Here, it's rather simple." the Doctor walked over and took hold of the safe's rings. "This symbol corrisponds hthis one but this one only matches the odd one. See?" He spun them around rapidly and the door clicked open. "You could have already met me in a previous time, but then.." He paused and frowned slightly. "I suppose I would have remembered. Perhaps you've already met one of my future selves!"
Blackbeard was getting more and more confused. A box that was tremendously larger inside than out, pirates who traveled through time, futre selves, it was all starting to get a bit much for him.
"Say there, Doctor. Ye wouldn't happen to have a bit o'grog handy, would yers? A drop or two would help my head! It's hurtin' from all this fanciful thinkin' you be doin'!"
"No, no grog, just a few bottles of cognac and brandy. I have them stored.....somewhere. I think." The Doctor looked about him then scratched his head. "Or did I trade them for some Persian slippers when I was in Egypt? Very comfortable, those. I kept getting sand in my shows as I was trying to show Imhotep how to design pyramids that didn't collapse under their own weight. Tricky things, pyramids."

Tyler heard Dan's comment and nodded. "Yeah...I'd prefer it if you didn't do the plundering right now....I can't believe I'm actually talking to you like this. You kidnapped me, and wanted to hurt me....and possibly kill me."
Tyler watched as the Doctor opened the safe. Not entirely convinced that he could repeat the action the Doctor had done, he reached into his pocket, fingering the items in his pocket. He pulled out the ruby first, placing it in the safe. He next took out his pocket watch that he had no idea had Gallifreyan writing on it, placing it into the safe as well.
Like Blackbeard, Tyler was not able to really follow the Doctor's conversation. Future selves? Helping someone build pyramids, slippers in Egypt. The Doctor was interesting, certainly.
Once Tyler had placed the items in the safe, he glanced back at the Doctor. "And to close it?"
