Donna strode just behind the Doctor, keeping quiet, something she didn't often do. Donna usually expressed herself (to say the least), but today she tried not to voice her thoughts. If she had, her loud voice might have echoed off the enclosed tunnel's walls and might have somehow caused attention to the concealed path. Besides, her anger wouldn't help matters at the moment.
When the Doctor glanced down at her, she glanced up at him, her mouth set, then back to where their path seemed to be ending.

The Doctor continued to follow the man who was leading them. He could tell that his current companion was deep in thought, or was thinking about something. All the while, he studied the structure of the walls. They should be arriving soon, at least he thought they would be.

Soon, the group came to an end in the hallway. Jamison felt the walls again and found the switch. He waited until the other two were within the boundary before pushing it, making the wall behind them close and the one in front of them open. As the door opened, guns were trained on them. Jamison looked at the guards and didn't seem fazed. "They're enemies of our enemy," he said simply and watched as they put away their guns.

The Doctor looked at the men and nodded, "We were captured....I'm the Doctor, by the way."
He chose not to say too much, just to wait for their reaction. He relaxed a bit when he saw them put away their guns. He looked to Jamison to lead them to where they needed to be next. "Jamison...how do you spell your name? I've met Jamison's before...some of them spelled their name with an 'i' while some did with an 'e.'"

Jamison looked at the Doctor. "J-A-M-I-S-O-N." He then walked among the men quietly. "Follow me," he told the two.

The Doctor looked slightly disappointed that this man didn't spell his name with an 'e.' However, he quickly followed after the man, hoping to learn more about the situation. "Right...so I take it that this is your base," he said, gesturing to the hall that they were now in. "Aren't you afraid that they will find this place?" What he really wanted to know was the security measures that were in place. He wanted to assess the current situation, and for that he NEEDED to know everything that he could. This was especially true if they would be attacked or had some other crisis.

"This is just base camp," Jamison said. "And sure, we know it could be attacked, but we know that we have to do what we can to try to defend ourselves. We're fearful for more than just us. We fear for our planet, our race, and our legacy. If it has to be that we made the final; stand to the last man, then so be it." The camp wasn't very big. Maybe ten officers. Five with actual guns, maybe. They all looked tired, hungry, and worn down. "This is war, Doctor. Nothing is fair or beautiful about it, nothing is guaranteed, except death and destruction."

The Doctor glanced back at Jamison. "Oh, believe me....I know. I've been through wars before -- my own planet....." he looked away. "Now then, is it safe to talk here?"
The Doctor wanted more information. He looked around at the soliders-- "How many camps like this do you have?"
He hated to see the devestation that war could bring to a people, a planet.....The Time Lord hated war, and would never volunteer to help out either side unless he knew the situation fully. He hated war, but he hated to see a people being oppressed even more.

Jamison nodded as he led the way into a tent-like structure. "It's safe to talk in here. We have a few dozen bases like this hidden around the planet. Some are better off and some are worse." The tent was rather simple, but visibly a commanding officer's tent.

The Doctor followed Jamison into the tent. "So, what is it that you have to add that you couldn't tell us when we were still in the tunnel?"
His eyes surveyed the tent. If this was this side's base, he wondered what the other side did. Or did they have all the buildings and such? He glanced at Donna to try to get her opinion.

The Doctor looked at the men and nodded, "We were captured....I'm the Doctor, by the way."
"Donna," his companion added, rolling her eyes soon after, when the Doctor asked Jamison how he spelled his name. "Not the time, Doctor."
As they moved on through the camp, Donna's eyes showed concern for everyone involved.
"This is war, Doctor. Nothing is fair or beautiful about it, nothing is guaranteed, except death and destruction."
She knew it was true, but she hated it...they had to do something about this...she glanced at the Doctor; she knew his policy on war.
She followed Jamison and the Doctor into the tent, her eyes grazed across the tent coming back to meet the Doctor's. She tried to convey to him that they had to do something about this, help in some way. They couldn't just go swanning off after seeing all this.
((OOC: it seems that I was taking a break, so I could post, but now I have to get back to it!))

The Doctor asked Jamison, "Tell me....is there anything else going on....the war seems to be massive -- what about your people? And has the other side done anything to them -- how are they being treated?"
He was concerned that these people who had killed mere children would not hesitate to kill other people -- whether they were children or fully grown adults. He saw the look in Donna's eyes and nodded. He knew that something had to be done. He just wanted to get more information. He also knew that Donna was stubborn and had already made up her mind. Experience traveling with her had taught him that much. He wanted to do something, especially if the actions that had started the war were being repeated.

At home things are slightly better than on the warfront. But they're bringing the war to our own doorstep. Which is why we have brought it to theirs," Jamison said. "We're running low on troops. They're weapons are slightly more advanced and they have more resources."

The Doctor nodded and asked Jamison, "What sort of weapons do you have? What are they using? I don't want to see this turn into another Skaro.....have you ever heard of that planet? It's gone now, like my own planet...but....."
