(Okay...I'm bringing in Ten here because I want to get Rose and any other person involved that wanted to be in the Ninth Doctor thread)
Ten knew that he was doing something that he really shouldn't do, but he decided to do it anyway. He had made the decision to cross his own time line and see if he could just see how Rose was doing. Not entirely certain that the TARDIS would get the timing right anyway -- it had been malfunctioning recently, he intended to arrive in London and try to observe Nine and Rose.
He wasn't really planning on letting either Rose or Nine know who he was, he simply wanted to check on her -- wanted to see her again.
Making the decision fast, he entered the coordinates into the TARDIS console, flipped a few switches. Within moments he was in London. The trouble was, he wasn't sure he had exactly gotten it right. Once landed, he ventured out, glad that the TARDIS was far away from where he'd ever parked it as Nine. This, of course meant for some more walking, but he didn't mind.
Looking around in the street, he started to head down the street.

Rose walked down a cross street two blocks down. "Doctor, come on!" she shouted down the road, rolling her eyes at the timelord, but looking less annoyed than playful.

Ten froze when he heard Rose's voice. "No, no, no! This....I ...didn't remember them being here right now. I......well......I'll just say hi to them.....if they notice me."
Ten continued to walk, trying not to be emotionally affected, wondering why he even decided on doing this.

Rose stopped and looked at the grumbling man lagging behind. Just because they were off to see her mother...Really it should be her mad at him. I mean, he'd parked the TARDIS in...well, she wasn't sure where they were, and he'd probably done it on purpose.
Getting more annoyed than before, Rose sighed and kept walking. He'd catch up eventually. The street was deserted which made her feel like maybe she was in a bad part of town...Reaching the end of the street, she looked around and saw a man walking towards the street she was on. He looked respectable...and...well, oddly enough, her gut said he was ok...
"Excuse me!" Rose said, stopping at the street corner.

Ten glanced at Rose and couldn't help but smile. "Oh, hello.....yes?"
He couldn't spot his Ninth spot anywhere near him, and from the looks of it, she looked like something was wrong -- or maybe she was just uncomfortable being there.
"Is something wrong? Are you alone?"
Where was his Ninth self? He was fairly certain that he had set the coordinates after Rose had met Nine. The fact that Nine wasn't anywhere to be seen gave him great concern.

"Oh no, everything's fine," she said, a bit taken aback by how concerned this stranger was. "My friend back there just got us lost." She motioned back towards nine's direction. "He does that a lot...would you be able to tell me where we are?"

Ten frowned at Rose's question, realizing that he didn't really know where they were himself. He just didn't want them finding his TARDIS. This was far too close to where he had landed. Hesitating a bit, he replied, "Well.....we're just outside of London....oh...and let's see....." he glanced at a street sign.
"Red Street," Ten announced to her. "Well, we're not in London itself....several miles that way," he pointed in a direction.
(made up the street name...no idea if such a street exists...but we can pretend that it does)

(np ^_^ )
"Several miles outside London...?" Rose asked, but it was not a question...shaking her head, she let out a short laugh, but it didn't sound like she was happy. He's either done this on purpose to prove a point or we're somehow in big trouble, she thought...either way he'd better start talking instead of sulking.
"Thank you," Rose said, not wanting to take her frustration out on this passerby. "Just a little frustrated. But thanks!"
Rose turned around to leave.
(Hey, should we make it so that the Doctor just disappeared, and Ten and Rose have to find him and figure out what's going on? Just trying to think of interesting ways to get around nine not being around.)

(sounds fun....yes -- I say we go for it! I was actually thinking about that yesterday -- or something similar to that...we need a bit of intrigue here)
Ten grinned, "You're welcome...do you happen to know where he was going...because I don't remember...."
He stopped himself, realizing how strange that might sound. "I mean, I don't remember hearing about anything taking place anywhere near here...."

The man caught her before she could look down the street. Turning back around, she grinned sheepishly.
"Actually we were off to my mother's. She's in London. He's not a big fan," Rose said, motioning backwards again. "Probably sulking...she slapped him once! Once! And he's not gotten over it since. And it was his own fault. I just think that..." Rose trailed off...she was talking to a random stranger...why did she feel so at ease with him? "Sorry," she said slowly. "Uh...yeah, London. You said that way?" She pointed where he had before.

Ten grinned at Rose. "Oh, yeah...your mother's....right...." "Now I'm sure it wasn't m.....his fault. It was probably just a misunderstanding, although all mother's tend to slap....had experience with that myself."
Ten nodded at Rose. "Wonder what is taking him so long....he...." He stopped himself from continuing. "He should enjoy every moment he gets with you because some day he could lose you."
He looked away from Rose, remembering the day that she was trapped in the parallel world. A look of sadness crossed his face and a tear rolled won the side of his face.

Rose chuckled, her frustration lessening while she talked to this man.
"Have you? Well, I suppose you could call it a misunderstanding. Funny, that's what he always calls it."
"Hey, you alright?" She took a step towards him and put a hand on his shoulder, her face showing concern.

It had been a long time since he had felt Rose put her arm around him. The touch, comforting, also made him feel the loss all the deeper.
Ten nodded, finally. "Yes, I'm all right...it's just that I lost someone very special to me...."
