"Sure, tea would be great." She served up some lasagne onto each plate. placing them on the table and setting the silverware next to them. She inhaled deeply and couldn't help but remark, "Smells good if I do say so my self."

Bryan smiled as he started some tea for her. "Yeah it does. Almost as good as when I make it from scratch," he said. Soon the tea was ready and he put it on her side of the small dining table and pulled out her seat for her.

She smiled gratefully at him before chuckling quietly, "Such a gentleman. You can cook?" She took he seat and it hit her how little they knew about each other. Not surprising considering how little time they had known each other. "I want to get to know you better." she said firmly then a small smile crept onto her face. "What's your favourite colour?"

Bryan chuckled a little as he pushed the chair in with her in it. "Yeah. I cook. And we really should get to know each other better. I like blue. You?" he asked as he sat down on his side.

A smile lit up her face, "I like blue too. What's your favourite food? Favourite animal?" She added a second later.

Bryan smiled and laughed a little. "That's cool. Umm, I guess olives are my favorite food and dolphins are my favorite animal."

"Nice choices. My favourite food is cookie dough if that counts. I'm not sure it's actually categorized as food. My favourite animal is probably either a goldfish or a dove."

Bryan grinned and nodded. "Good choices as well. So what do you like to do on your free time?" He took a bite of his lasagna and smiled. It really was good, though he would have to make some real lasagna when he got the ingredients.

She lowered her head sheepishly, "I don't really have free time. I'm a bit of a workaholic. Well in the short periods of time in which I'm not eating, sleeping or working I like to... um... it's tough when you get put on the spot. I like to... read and I have written a few short stories." A puzzled expression dominates her face before she looks up and says, "No my favourite thing to do is swim!"

Bryan grinned. "No kidding? I swim all the time! Sure, maybe not where I'm supposed to but. And you're a writer? That's awesome."

She couldn't contain he excitement, "You swim too!? I have always loved swimming. You see I have really bad allergies to basicly everything out doors and the water is the only place they can't bother me!" It was very rare that she found someone who had such an intense joy of the water like her and she could tell from his voice and the way his eyes lit up at the mention of it that he loved it too.

Bryan smiled. "I practically grew up in the water! I absolutely love it! It's the only way I can feel completely like myself. I'm sorry to here about the allergies." He was still wearing his gloves.

"Water has that way about it. That effect on people." She shrugged, "They've been there all my life. It's normal for me. It would probably be really weird if they were suddenly gone." Suddenly she went very serious and gave him a calculating look before lowering her head to avoid his gaze and asking in a low voice, "I don't mean to be rude or anything and if you are insulted or don't want to answer I completely understand but I have to ask. Why do you wear those gloves? You haven't taken them off even though it is quite warm in here and you don't strike me as being the type of guy to be all into fashion." She looked up to meet his eyes...

Bryan's smile slowly vanished as he looked into her eyes, then looked down at his food. "I, uh... I have a thing with people touching my palms..." This was his excuse he used for everyone. Normally he wouldn't have a problem throwing this out there, but something was different. He couldn't lie to her like he could everyone else.

She knew he was lying but she didn't want to push because she had seen the look in his eyes when she had asked. You couldn't describe it but she knew that it was the same look that would fill her eyes when someone asked about the accident or about him. He could keep secrets she certainly had her fair share. "It's okay, I understand that you wouldn't want to tell a complete stranger everything." She lowered her head once more. I can't believe I asked him something that was obviously none of my business.
