Melissa is currently in a book store in New York City -- Earth -- 2010.
Melissa looked around at the many books that were for sale in the book store that she was currently in. She hadn't been in New York City for long -- in fact, going to graduate school here was the first time that she had ever been to the city. She found it all to be quite overwhelming. Melissa happened to be from a fairly small town in Ohio, and so the move was a big change for her. Not only that, but she didn't particularly like the school that she was attending. It was the content of what was being taught...and more importantly, what WASN'T being taught that bothered her.
She liked the book store, though...there were so many titles that she could choose from.
_______
The Doctor is currently inside his Tardis, which has just landed in London during the Victorian area. -- Earth
The Doctor opened the door to the Tardis. He peered out, noting that he had indeed landed where and when he had wanted to go. There would be a special ball taking place in several hours, and he had thought it would be interesting. After all, he needed a distraction, and this was just the sort of thing he had been itching to participate in.
He had even made sure to sort of dress for the occasion. He knew that wearing his normal suit just would not do -- he would have to try to blend in with the people in the era he was in. He had no companion to impress or tease him.
The Time Lord stepped out of his Tardis, carefully locking it. He looked both ways, saw no one coming, and started off down the street. Feb 27th 2010, 1:38pm #2

New York
Lexi walked down the New York street. This was the first time her brother ad let her take a trip alone. She was enjoying freedom, when she came upon a small bookshop.
She entered the shop to find some new reading material for her trip. She hadn't brought much, just a small suitcase with some clothes and her iPod and phone. Once in the shop she wandered over o the fiction section. Si-Fi, her favourite.

London
Ally had just finished her shopping. She was going to a ball tonight and needed a new dress. She had come to London after running away from her home planet, Roland. She had been living in London for a year, and just getting used to the old ways. She was on her way home to get ready, the ball was in a few hours and she didn't want to be late. Melissa continued to browse the books. She had already gone to the Christian books section of the store. She had several favorite authors that she especially liked. She had also looked at the marriage and dating subsection within the Christian category. Several of the clients that she was working with were struggling in their relationships, and she didn't really have any books on the subject.
She had picked out a few when she decided to head over to the science fiction section. Melissa enjoyed fiction, and one of her interests happened to be science fiction. However, like the Christian books, she was picky about the content of a particular series. Her favorite science fiction stories were those that were set in space. She wasn't exactly sure why she was drawn to these types of books, but she did really enjoy them.
Interested in what was available, it did not take her long to find herself in the correct aisle. There were several other people in the aisle, but it wasn't too crowded.

Victorian London
The Doctor continued to walk the streets of London. He enjoyed watching people and interacting with them. However, on this particular day, not many people were out and about.
"Well, this seems to be a waste of time," he thought to himself.
He found his way to a small garden. The Doctor stopped and sat on a bench for a while. Gardens reminded him of Gallifrey. He smiled at the flowers that he saw. Feb 27th 2010, 2:08pm #4

(I'll use the format you used.)
Brenna and Will (and Loki) - New York City - Earth - 1889
Brenna eyed some books in a book store as she walked down the muddy streets. They were getting hit by a fairly large rainstorm and she and Will were drenched from head to foot. Will glanced back at her, wondering what it was that was holding her up. He stopped, then went back to her.
"Come on, Brenna. We can't get another one now, they're still on alert from the last time we got one," he said, taking her hand in his.
Brenna pouted and followed him away from the shop window.
***
Clara and James - New York City - Earth - 1924
Clara walked into the office with one thing in mind.
"James, what do you say to a vacation?" she asked him as he sat lazily in the chair, his legs propped up on the table.
James looked up at her, over the newspaper he was reading. He grinned a bit and closed it, putting it down on the office desk. "Where, and when, did you have in mind?" he asked playfully.
Clara smirked a bit as she came around the desk to sit by his feet. "Nowhere too far. I was thinking that maybe we could see the Statue of Liberty."
"But we see it everyday," James said, swiveling a bit in his chair, making his feet 'involuntarily' touch her side.
"Not right after it was built, before it got all green and rusty," Clara said, taking hold of his legs so he would stop.

Cait - Planet not far from Ood homeworld - time unknown
Cait was walked through the forests, looking for one thing: the shimmering Moonlight Lillies. He had heard the Elders talk about how if a Sprigganian could find one and give it to his loved one, he would have a wonderful life filled with adventure and wonders. He, being one of a family that has no Elder, wanted to be the first to find it.
His cousin, Cayden, was a day ahead of him, but he wasn't as experienced with exploring as Cait was. Feb 27th 2010, 2:17pm . Edited Feb 27th 2010, 3:31pm #5

Lexi ran her eyes over the books. She wished she could take every one of them home. She had a certain respect for books and those who wrote them. They each had their own world, and sometimes universe. She marveled at such creativity, and wished that she could be a part of some of the amazing things she read.
She noticed the aisle had mostly cleared out except for another girl who looked a little older than Lexi herself. she wondered what was going trough her head as she glimpsed the covers of the marvelous books.

Victorian Century London
As Ally made her way home she noticed that there was an apparent lack of people in the streets. She didn't blame them though, it was a glum day. It was overcast as usual, but it was darker than usual, and had and extra down feeling. She still had time to get ready, she realized and decided to take the long rout through the park. There were gardens in the park along with her favourite fountain in all of London. It was large and made out of marble, with stone angels and gargoyles. On her way through she noticed a well dressed man sitting on one of the benches facing the gardens.
For some reason, unknown to her she had the urge to walk up to him. She did taking soft steps, and when she was a meter away from the bench she said,
"Hello." Feb 27th 2010, 2:47pm #6

Melissa glanced at the only other person who was now in the aisle with her. The girl appeared to be several years younger than she was, though she couldn't be certain. After all, people always assumed she was younger than she actually was...sometimes by as many as 10 or 12 years.
Melissa noticed the particular book series that the other girl was eying. She smiled at her and said, "That's a good book series. I finished reading it last year."

New York - 1889
As Brenna and Will walked through the street market, no one really took notice of them as their swift hands pocketed various fruits and breads. This is what they did, everyday. They lived off of the streets and on the streets. If someone was unlucky enough to boast about how much they had, they would find themselves "accidentally" bumped and, later, their pockets a few dollars short.

New York - 1924
James brought his legs toward him, bringing Clara with them. She gasped happily as he brought her into his lap.
"You are such a romantic," he said with a grin.
Clara returned the grin and leaned against him, putting her forehead to his. "Like you're any better?"
***
Ood System
Cait eyed a Syclak tree, with its purple leaves web-like branches. He spotted Cayden high in the branches, sniffing for the flower he was trying to find.
"You know, you're sniffing up the wrong tree," Cait said to him, in the only way that a Sprigganian can, telepathically.
Cayden's ears twitched a bit and he looked down to his cousin. "Would you like to tell me which tree to search in, then, cousin Cait?"

A few hours in New York and she was already catching on.
"I'm Lexi, by the way." she announced.

The Doctor glanced up from the flowers that he had been studying, only to see a young woman standing there.
He heard her greeting and responded, "Hello." He grinned at her.
"I was beginning to think that everyone was inside today."
He looked thoughtfully at her.
"Are you from here, or are you just visiting?"

Melissa smiled at Lexi. "Well, not everyone has the same tastes. I don't know whether or not you like sci-fi that is set in space. One of my friends calls it space fantasy."
Mel had to laugh at that. It was an inside joke that she shared with her best friend Kathy.
"My name is Melissa," she responded.

Just as Brenna grabbed another apple from the stand, a constable grabbed her wrist.
"Aha! Snatching a meal, are we? You're coming with me," he said in a scruff voice.
Brenna knew exactly what to do. She quickly bit the man's wrist, making him howl a bit before letting go, alerting Will. Once she was free, she ran to where she saw Will was and they took off down an alleyway, which wide grins on their faces. This was part of the fun of snatching instead of begging. The running, the thrill of the chase.

James and Clara sat like this for a while, her sitting on his lap with his arms around her waist. She brought her hands to his neck and laced her fingers behind it.
"So is that a 'yes'?" Clara asked with a smirk.
"Hmm, not sure... let me think about it," James said playfully, moving his head so that he could kiss her cheek.

Somewhere in the Ood system
Cait smirked a bit. "And why should I tell you? You're my competition."
Cayden quickly jumped from branch as he made his way down to him. "Because you have an unfair advantage: you know something that I don't."

"Nice to meet you." she replied.
"The out of world stuff is actually my favourite. It takes even more imagination to visualize, and exercising my imagination is one of my favourite things to do. " she said smiling.
Lexi picked the book that was first in the series and ran her hand over the cover. The cover art was already inspiring her.
"Do you live here?" she asked the girl she had just met.

"It does seem that I'm the only one out today." she said glancing at the sky.
She walked farther over to the bench before responding to his question.
"Well, I've lived here for a while, but I am a traveler." Ally said smiling.
She wasn't about to tell him that she had run away from another planet to get away from her controlling parents, but 'traveler' wasn't lying. She did plan on moving around some more.

Melissa smiled again. "It's nice to meet you too. Yeah, the stuff that takes place in space is my favorite type of science fiction."
She noticed that Lexi had picked up the first book in the series. "I'm sure you'll really enjoy that."
Melissa then looked from the book up to Lexi's face again, realizing that she had just been asked a question.
"Well, I'm not originally from New York, but I'm a graduate student here....and I do live near the campus while classes are in session. What about you?" she asked with interest.
