Rodaj jumped slightly and looked up at Tyler. He nodded and curled his fingers tighter into the fabric of his robes, cheeks reddening even more. He hadn't expected Tyler to tell him so easily.
"Yes..I'm alright.." He smiled weakly and nodded again. He couldn't imagine why one of the High Council would hate Tyler...then again, he didn't know much about his friend or his family, other than what he'd been told. Still, he couldn't believe that a public official would do something like kidnap a child like them... The thought made him a little ill. "Just a little warm is all.." he said, continuing to play with his sleeves. _____
Koschei followed after him. The little garden wasn't anything like the expansive beauty of the gardens and fields he was used to, but he could see why Nathan liked it so much. He looked around at the simple beauty of the quaint little garden and smiled.
"It's very nice..." he said truthfully as he took another look around, being as careful as Nathan to avoid being seen by whoever might be nearby. __________ Drasha looked up from her papers, and smiled at Emmehujidat, grateful to have a distraction. She smoothed a stray bit of blonde hair out of her face and nodded to him, stopping where she stood.
"Good day, sir." She said, adding in a little respectful curtsy to add to Emmehujidat's feeling of superiority, and resting the papers in the crook of her arm. "How are you today?"

(which group of children did the General approach?)
Tyler shrugged at Rodaj's response. It was a warmer day, being in the middle of Gallifrey's summer season. However, he himself tended to get cold easily. He had thought the temperature to be fairly comfortable. He had to remind himself, though, that not everyone was like him. Some people just had a tendency to feeling hot or warm most of the time.
"Okay, then...but if you feel sick, you should go back to where you were registered and tell someone there....but if you're feeling all right....then, that's good."
Staring off into the distance, he wanted to run something by Rodaj. Tyler asked his new friend, "Hey, do you think we will get to meet any girls?"
That had been a subject that he and Nathan had talked about often recently. Although Tyler was well aware that he was too young to date, or to be thinking about that, he just couldn't help it. He'd had crushes on several of the girls that had lived near his old house, but they were all mean. He hoped to make friends with at least one girl -- he wanted to know what it was like to talk to one. His mother had died while he was a baby, and his father didn't have any living female relatives -- or at least that he knew. He had to wonder if there were something shameful about his father's past. Had he been rejected from his family? Tyler had no way of knowing, nor did he feel comfortable asking.
__________ Nathan grinned at Koschei's response. "I knew you would like it...how could anyone not like this garden?" He proceeded to look at several of the plants, studying them.
He tried to remember what he had read about those particular plants, scratching his head in concentration.
_______ Emmehujidat smiled at Drasha, having been properly acknowledge by her. "Good day," he responded. "I'm doing well," he added. "My son will be starting at the camp shortly. Can you believe some of the children who are trying to register?" He started snickering.
He stood there deep in thought as he remembered that if his son would be going to camp, then so would a couple of twins. He hated the thought of them, as their very existence angered him. What a disgrace they had brought to Gallifrey. Their mother had been human -- and they were to be recognized as full Gallifreyans? Emmehujidat was well aware of the fact that the Gallifreyan DNA was dominant, but he still believed them to be tainted by human blood.

Rodaj blinked and considered the question for a second, as his blush subsided. He'd never even thought about that.
"Maybe.." He said with a small smile. He'd never paid the girls in his neighborhood much attention before, but now that he was going to be attending school, he figured he'd be seeing more of them. "Have you met one you sort of like?" He asked curiously.
_______ Koschei peered at a brightly-colored flower with interest as he wandered around. He'd never seen anything quite like it: it was tall, with leaves that matched the color of a Gallifreyan sunset, and gave off a sweet scent.
"The flowers here are so well-kept...not overgrown at all." He remarked. He caught sight of Nathan in deep thought over an unusual plant, and tilted his head. "What's that?" He asked, coming up behind his friend.
_________ Drasha snorted in agreement, smiling a bit more as she let out a short laugh. Every member of faculty or the High Council knew that Emmehujidat's son would be attending camp, and then Academy. He made it a point to mention it to anyone he met.
"Yes..." She stared derisively down at the stack of papers in her arms. "Hardly worth all the work put into it, if you ask me. Half of these little brats shouldn't even be here.." She muttered.
Another form found its way to the back of her pile and she rolled her eyes at the next name she saw. Members of the lower class, she felt, shouldn't even be allowed to register. They'd never amount to much, anyway, and they were so hard to teach...
"Though," She smiled to herself as she watched the number of children who clung to their parents. "You have to admit, it is amusing to watch them toddle about with no clue whatsoever as to where they're going, or indeed what they're doing. They'll be a mess at initiation... if they make it that far..." She snorted.

Tyler looked at Rodaj and smiled a bit at the question, as he definitely had several girls in mind. He nodded, "Yeah....a couple of them, but the ones I talked to weren't very nice. I hope that I can make a good friend who is nice....the one that I like...her name is Alislrkeurle. I have never tried talking to Alislrkeurle before....and I don't even know if she is going to the Academy."
__________- As Koschei came over to look at the plant that Nathan was studying, Nathan replied, "It's a vinca...my father said that they are native to other planets, too....so I don't know where they originally came from....someone might have planted it on other planets, and we just assumed that they came from one place or another."
_______ Emmehujidat nodded in complete agreement with Drasha. "It is entertaining to see the lower class students try and beg to get into the Academy. Most of them do not have what it takes....tell me....do you know what happened to the King of Gallifrey?"
He couldn't remember who had been informed of the truth and who hadn't. In particular, he couldn't remember if this woman had known. The information had been kept in strict confidence by those in the Council, and a select few at that. However, he knew the nature of rumors, and was curious to hear what this woman knew or didn't know or believed. The official story had been that he had been killed while on a mission on Earth.

Kyra looked up. "Sorry, what?"
*** The Librarian was in the garden, busy tending her plants. She was oblivious to anything around her, happily in her own little world.

The woman snickered at Kyra, "Oh, I'm sorry.....you don't understand High Gallifreyan?" She then spoke in the normal Gallifreyan language. "Are you here to be registered?"
___________
It was then that Nathan got up and walked quickly to one of his other favorite plants. However, he had been looking back at Koschei and hadn't been watching where he was going.
He almost ran right into the Librarian. When he finally did see her....he froze, afraid that she would yell at him for coming into her garden uninvited. But as he looked at her, he decided that maybe she had sneaked into the garden as well.
Thinking that she looked slightly lonely, he asked her "Are you lonely?"

Rodaj smiled encouragingly. He hoped to meet a girl while at camp, too...though he wasn't as adamant about it. "She might." He looked out from their spot on the library steps, and noticed that the crowd was finally starting to thin. He glanced back at Tyler, while swinging his legs back and forth idly. "She might even be here now, getting registered." He said with a playful grin. ____ "A vinca..." Koschei mused. He peered at it in interest, and didn't notice when Nathan ran off to another part of the garden. He just assumed he'd seen another rather fascinating plant.
His guess changed, however, when he heard Nathan talking to someone. Koschei frowned and tilted his head, looking around and picking his way through the garden. He froze as well when he caught sight of the woman that Nathan was talking to. He'd never seen her before in his life.
_____
"The King of Gallifrey?" She had heard several things: that he had died in a blaze of glory while defending Gallifrey from a dangerous threat...that he had been dethroned and exiled after some great shame -precisely what it was changed with each telling- had been revealed...or, that he had simply gotten bored and asked that he be replaced. These had been among the most prominent of the tales. Rumor spread quickly among the upper class, but she had never been certain as to what had really happened to him, and was curious to find out.
Of course, as well connected as Emmehujidat was, he probably knew the truth...and this intrigued her. Drasha turned her full attention to Emmehujidat and blinked curiously.
"No," said Drasha lightly. "I'm afraid I don't. Bit busy with Academy business, you know. Never had time for stories."

Kyra frowned. "I can speak High Gallifreyan, you just caught me when I was distracted. Yes, I'm going to get registered, but I'm trying to find my mother."
*** The Librarian looked up, surprised when she heard the voice. She heard what he asked. Was she lonely? If only he knew. She nodded.

Tyler nodded at Rodaj, "Could be...." His face brightened at the idea. Maybe they really could find her. He wasn't sure how she would act around him, though. Visiting the garden could wait -- they'd look for the girl to see if she were around somewhere. ________ Emmehujidat nodded at the professor's response. "Well, I was just curious..."
He knew that Drasha was interested in knowing the details, and yet since she didn't know, he had the satisfaction of holding this over her. Perhaps he would give her crumbs of the story...as long as she played his game. He smiled at her smugly, not willing to tell her right now. If she really wanted to know, she would have to work for it. Of course he would never tell anyone the whole truth.
______ The woman working in registration simply snickered some more. A child of Kyra's class would not know High Gallifreyan -- she was fairly certain of that. She snickered even more when Kyra mentioned that she was looking for her mother.
Kyra's mother Krysta just HAD to work with the children. She had been one who had campaigned heavily to get Krysta kicked off of the camp list. Regrettably, however, Krysta had maintained her position as one of the group leaders for the camp.
"Let's get this over quickly," the woman said. "Do you have your registration papers? And do you have your medical records?' _______ "My name is Nathanufdofehadik," he said to the Librarian. "Although most people either call me Nathan or Theta."
He noticed how she almost seemed to curl up, as though she really were lonely. "What's wrong?" he asked. He went over to sit next to her.

Rodaj got to his feet and looked around, trying to spot the girl Tyler mentioned...only to realize that he didn't know what to look for. "Um...do you know what she looks like?" He asked uncertainly. ________
Drasha looked up at him. She knew he was very intelligent, and also that he enjoyed toying with people before divulging something that they wanted to know. It sounded like something that she herself might do...in fact, she had. One learned how to manipulate others early in high society. It was the only real way to accomplish anything, so she believed.
Alright, she thought to herself, perfectly willing to play along. What sort of game will it be?
Her eyebrows rose, and she allowed herself a small smirk of her own. "I see...mere curiosity on your part, is it?" She tilted her head slightly. _____
Koschei tilted his head and watched as Nathan willingly went over to the silent woman. Who was she? He wondered. Curious, he followed Nathan's example after a moment of looking her over, and sat beside his friend, wanting to hear the answer himself.

Tyler nodded, responding to Rodaj. "Yeah...I do...but she's.....she's hard to describe. I'm not very good at describing things or people." He frowned. "Um...she has red hair and green eyes....and.....and...I don't know what else." He sighed in defeat.
________ Emmehujidat nodded at Drasha, looking her over carefully. Raising his eyebrows, he nodded. "Yes, just curious....curious about how much or little you knew. How long have you been teaching at the Academy?"
Thinking to himself, "Well, now...how long has she been at the Academy, and what kind of information can I glean from her....if she had been at the Academy while Aragorn was young....then maybe I can use something against the children....."
__________ The boy Eiougougol knew that his father would be taking care of his registration for him, so there was no reason to wait in line and be bored. He, of course, was very proud of the fact that his father was on the High Council. Thinking his father to be the most important member ever, he proudly went around, telling the other children that his father was Emmehujidat.
Assuming that his father was around in some boring meeting somewhere, like usual, Eiougougol knew that he would have a lot of time on his hands.
With a smirk, Eiougougol decided to enter the library.....there were several librarians there that he liked to annoy. As he neared the library, he noticed that there were two boys near the steps that looked about his age. Noting that the one appeared to be of a lower class, and the other appeared to be just middle class or so...at least from his judgment, he smirked at them as he attempted to pass.
He said to them, "Get out of my way."
Tyler frowned at Eiougougol and replied, "We're not even in your way....."
Eiougougol smirked and replied, "Yes you are...your stinking trashy low class selves are interfering with my air space."

"Long enough to remember a significant number of adults here when they were younger." Drasha said smoothly with a smirk, looking back at him just as closely, while she tried to figure out precisely where he was headed with this train of thought. ____ Rodaj frowned at Eiougougol and crossed his arms lightly, standing where he was beside Tyler.
"We're not." He said, trying to sound tough and failing. He'd never been very good at confrontation...but he wanted to stand up for his friend. "And there's plenty of air space for everyone."

"My mother has them, that's why I have to find her," Kyra said.
*** The Librarian looked at the two children, sighing. She knew she couldn't speak. She had learned over the years that it just made people snicker and sneer, especially with the children of the higher class families. She rubbed her vocal cords and shook her head to try to tell him that she can't speak.

The lady frowned at Kyra, glaring at her. "Then why did you get in line to be registered if you didn't have the proper material. You are an idiot, and I should just disqualify you now...but I won't. Go look for your mother, and when you've found her, you can come back. Now, go away, little brat who insisted on wasting my time!"
_________ Nathan looked at the woman, confused. Why wasn't she speaking -- she was rubbing her neck and shaking her head.....which might mean.....Nathan frowned. "Can you speak?" he asked her.
It almost looked as though she couldn't speak. He would at least try to ask that. She could nod or shake her head in reply. Nathan was also very unaware that he looked a lot like his mother. Of course Nathan had know way of knowing that the Librarian would know his mother...or rather, that she knew her.

Emmehujidat nodded, "Yes....well.....were you employed in the Academy when any of the royal family were students?"
He decided that he would straight out ask her, hoping that she wasn't there when Aragorn was young. He couldn't remember if either of Aragorn's children looked like their father when he had been a boy. He knew that with regeneration, often times a child would resemble one of the past or future regenerations of one or both of the parents. With that came the possibility for a child to resemble the first body of a parent. He frowned, unable to remember what Aragorn had looked like as a child.
_____________ Tyler, surprised that his new friend would stand up for him -- he'd only experienced his brother doing that -- nodded appreciatively at Rodaj.
Eiougougol simply rolled his eyes, obviously annoyed. Going up to the boys, he attempted to shove them out of the way, one by one. When he had pushed against Tyler, Tyler had tried his best to stand his ground, but ended up falling on the ground, Eiougougol being stronger than he.
Eiougougol smirked and tried to shove the other boy, hoping to make him fall to the ground, too.
