Name: Maria Lila Alexander, goes by Lila
Age: 27
Species: Human
Planet of Origin: Earth
Occupation: dancer
Physical Description: Attractive enough by human standards, Lila is not the sort of woman who’d ever be called a classic beauty. Or, really, beautiful of any sort. She is a handsome sort of woman, with strong features, but nothing about her is anything as delicate as “beautiful” or even “pretty.” She’s athletic and lean, with a pear shaped build, and long, strong features.
Her complexion is just brown enough for most to call her ethnic, but rarely in any polite way (she is, in fact, half Latina, and proud of it. Ta.) with long brown-black hair that curls down her back, and startlingly green eyes completely at odds with the rest of her appearance. She tends to dress in brilliant colors, and styles associated with the less well to do citizens of London.
Personality: Loud, brash, stubborn, vampish and often irritating, it would come as a surprise to most people that Lila is a kindhearted and curious woman. She’s far from a ‘hooker with a heart of gold,’ but she does love her friends like family, and her family like the annoying people always hanging out in her flat and eating her food-and, though she technically lives with their father and Gran, Lila’s little sister Sophia does tend to spend most of her hours in Lila’s flat.
She never bothered to sit her A-Levels, and barely attended school, but has a deep seated love for fashion. Specifically, historical fashion. It’s her biggest secret and guilty pleasure-the bigger and floofier the dress, the happier she is. She fills sketchbooks with drawings of Victorian ball gowns and Tudor embroidery patterns.
Lila has what other people might consider a gift for theater-put her on a stage, and she becomes a charismatic, compelling woman that seems larger than life. In reality, her so called gift is closely linked to her psionic talents. Weak, even on the best of days, her empathy gives Lila the ability to (try to) influence the emotions of the people around her, for good or bad. She’s limited by her own strength, the size of the crowed, and anyone with a strong enough will, or psionic talents of their own, to oppose outside influence.
History:
Born in America, Lila-and later, her sister-spent every summer in London with their grandparents. They had a simple, but happy life growing up in Texas, right up until the day they came home from school to find their Mother crying in the kitchen.
Neither girl had the slightest clue their parents’ relationship was on the rocks, but in the end, very little seemed to change. Mum stayed in San Antonio, Dad moved back to London, and the girls continued to travel between the two. At the age of thirteen, Lila, along with her sister, was placed in the sole custody of her father, where the two have lived ever since.
Lila would go on to dream of joining the Royal Ballet, but was told, time and again, that although she had the talent, she lacked the look of a real ballerina. She fought for several years before hearing too tall, too fat, too dark, took their toll-and now she dances at a rather different sort of place all together. It pays the bills-and well, too-and she’s happy and that’s enough.
At least, until the night she found the pretty, but strange necklace, with stones like oil on water, lying pretty as can be under the streetlight. Broken chain, and wasn’t that a pity, but it was easy enough to fix, and everyone seems to think the odd little pendant flatters her.
Additional Medical Information:
(very) mildly empathic, carrier and patient zero for an unknown alien virus via the necklace
