I've recently been in touch with proboards, asking them about the our current situation with no active admin and what would be the best. I asked them if one global mod could be upgraded to admin, but there is no such thing that can be done from their side, sadly.

They advised me to move the boards all together, if Ten does not return. And to be realistic, if Ten is not even responding to emails there is a slim chance she will. Even if it's on purpose or not. The fact that the mods do not have the access to all the options on the site is becoming problematic from what I've heard. I also saw that a good few of the affiliates are dead, and would like to see that shrink down. I had a good look at my phone bill the other month and it costs me big bucks to load whoniverse because of the gigantic image content on the front page due to the affiliates.

Why I'm posting this is because I have almost a month off (till mid January) and thus time enough to work on the new proboards forums and get everything important moved.

Afterwards when I'm done I'll pass over the main admin account to The First Doctor and from there he can start modding others and get the whole mod team up and running again. So for those who think I'm just doing this to become an admin, you're wrong. I don't want that.

I love Whoniverse but the fact we have no functioning admin causes problems after a while and proboards can't do anything to help. Moving is the only way, sadly.

When the new site is made, we should at the start have only First as a mod then PM him about who we think should be made into mods, and we shouldn't be allowed to nominate ourselves or ask other members to nominate us, that way we only have mods who are supported by regular members.

I'm planning on handing over the admin account to First (along with the mail account used for it) as soon as it's done and we've started inviting others to the forums.

Who is modded and who is not modded is something that doesn't really concern us. It needs to be someone the admin can work with in the first place foremost, not who we as members (who don't see everything) choose for it. Of course, there can be nominations but I think it's better they'll be used as guidelines.

Anyway, let's first worry about building it.

I feel very neutral about this.

Regardless of whether First is interested in continuing to take on long term duties in an Admin position, I will be content as long as he gets free reign to guide changes, if any, during transition. I trust his sense of fair play.

I also intend to stay on the same boards as First, wherever that may be.

I would be happy to transfer all of the SJ board if the moment arrives, and y'all let me know where you're going. If we're going.

I didn't really mean to quote Sarah but if you guys need help with all different stuff I've been an admin 5+ times on sites and I've been an admin on one site for 5 years just send me a pm if ya guys need any help. I don't intend to lurk in the C-Box. I am a C-box moderator there, so sometimes, even if I'm not signed in, I'm keeping half an eye out. I don't pay the conversation any heed unless there is too much conflict, or someone posts their phone number.

I confess, the other day, I heard some folks discussing rule changes if we move to a new site.

I am deeply fond of the rules here.

I am game for any small adjustments First would like to make, but I worry at the idea of anyone else making changes. I fear we might become 'clickish' as a site. I don't wish to change the subject here, so feel free to PM me what you think of that if you wish.

If I am sounding biased toward First, it's true. I appreciate his age (still younger than me, though) and his broad artistic tastes. I think he is even more fair than I am.
