2185, Egypt, an archeological dig.
A somewhat short man, drops down into a recently unsealed tomb. A him a torch is dropped onto the floor beside him, from the hole where he entered, swiftly, he picks it up and lights it looking around he places it into a torch holder.
Then he returns, just beside the where he dropped down, he looks up and shouts. “It’s all clear down here Ace, come down!”
A girl, looking about 16 or 17 drops down as well.
“Take a look arround Ace, this is Egypt from it’s golden days.” He grows silent, tears forming in his eyes at the sight of a nearby lamp.
“I-it; it can’t be…” carefully he walks over and picks up the lamp, turning it over in his hand.
“It, it is…” He says, tears of joy streak his face as a broad smile forms. Carefully, he rubs the lamp. “It’s been a long long, time, old friend…”

Ace dropped down next to The Doctor in a sorta of crouch for a second waiting for her eyes to adjust, after he gave the all clear and looked around “Blimey Professor this is wicked.” she stood up and went over to a near by wall wipeing some of the dust away on a near by wall “Take a look arround Ace, this is Egypt from it’s golden days.” “Really? I thought the time during the Pharaohs would have been considered the Golden Days.”
She shrugged running her fingers gingerly over the engravings and saying softly “this is awesome.” looking away from the hieroglyphics she had been checking out and walking back over to where The Doctor stood holding the strange lamp in his hands “Whatcha find?”

“It’s all clear down here Ace, come down! Take a look around, Ace, this is Egypt from its golden days,” a man declared. Blue’s ears pricked up curiously. His Lamp was currently hiding in an ancient tomb – one that he thought he’d hidden away pretty cleverly. Nobody still excavated in Egypt, except, it would seem, this ‘professor’ and a person named Ace.
Blue stirred impatiently. He knew that the man had seen his Lamp – but what he didn’t know was how he had distinguished it. The Lamp – no matter what form it took – did bear a unique design. Nonetheless, that sort of unique design was only detectable by the Djinn and their owners.
“It’s been a long long, time, old friend,” the man said, rubbing the Lamp. Blue took the form of a scorpion as he scuttled from out of the Lamp. He jumped to the ground and morphed back into a human. He stared up at the man and the girl, confusion evident in his features. He stood up, bones cracking soundly as he did so, and crossed his arms.
“Whatcha find?” the girl asked.
“You seem to already know who I am,” he said. He stepped closer to the man and sniffed him curiously. He could already smell that the man wasn’t human – he was Time Lord – but it wasn’t until he got closer and realized that there wasn’t a new scent that the Djinn fully realized what was going on.
“Doctor?” he asked, timidly. He put his hands on the Doctor’s face, much the way a blind man would do. “Ah, you can’t see a thing in this type of lighting, can you?” he grumbled. Almost instantly, light flooded the previously dark tomb. Insects scattered into corners, frightened by the sudden change. “You look very different from when I saw you,” Blue said, his hands still on the man’s cheeks.
He turned his attention to Ace, dropping his hands as he circled her. “This isn’t Zoe, is it? You called her Ace! They smell very different.”
He stopped in front of Ace and held out his hand. His body was still buzzing with energy. “Nice to meet you, Ace. You can call me Blue.”
Blue paused, and looked at the Doctor. “That is, unless you would like to rename this time?”

"Blue, my old friend, I wouldn't change anything about you." The Doctor says embracing Blue in a sturdy hug.
"Ace this is Blue, he's a very good friend of mine, sadly we lost contact years ago. I've missed you my old friend. How have you been?" He hugs tighter.

Ace blinked rapidly as her eyes readjusted when lights came up suddenly. She watched the strange guy circled her “Ok I’ll take the smelling thing as a complement, but...it’s nice to meet you Blue” she smiled and shook his hand before The Doctor hugged Blue.

“Blue, my old friend, I wouldn’t change anything about you,” the Doctor said, crushing the Djinn into a hug. Blue squeaked out in surprise, but allowed himself to relax in the embrace. The Doctor had definitely changed since the last time they had met – and not just the body, although that had thrown Blue for a loop. However, Blue could not find anything negative about the change – people did change, after all.
“And I about you,” the Djinn said to his master politely, craning his neck to view the younger man. He glanced over to Ace as she spoke. “Hmm? The smelling was neither a compliment nor an insult. Just an observation,” Blue informed. He’d never been decent as socializing with humans, and it seemed that even after a million and two hundred odd years of existence, he never would quite get the hang of it.
“He’s a very good friend of mine, sadly we lost contact years ago. I’ve missed you, my old friend. How have you been?”
Blue was about to respond when the Doctor hugged him tighter. Blue looked down at the human form he was in. Humans were frail and he was almost sure that if he were a regular creature, the Doctor would have bruised him. He took the form of a snake and slithered out of the Doctor’s grasp. Once he was settled on the ground, Blue turned back into his human form. “You were crushing me,” he explained simply, picking himself off the ground. He gave the Doctor a brief hug of his own.
“I have been… well,” Blue said quietly, deciding not to get into his feud with the Djinn Council. “We should leave this place. It’s not very safe for anyone to be here.”
