"She might," said the man in the black duster, who hadn't been at the end of the hall a moment ago. "Or she might not. Could go either way."
He leaned on his cane - a replica of the Rod of Rassilon - and tipped his black fedora. Then he let it roll the length of his arm, flipped it into the air with a twitch of his shoulder, and allowed it to land back on his head.
He smiled, a broad toothy grin that seemed to perch right on the borders of sanity. "How you doin' Dark Lord? Haven't seen you since, what? Sterapic III? You still suck at cards?"
Then he stretched and cracked his neck. "And you've assembled a bit of a crew - a Time Lord Asipirant and a... freebirth halfbreed?" A pause. "Is this one of those 'like father like son' cases?"

The nightmares were still bothering him. He would have thought that after nine years of pretending the night hadn’t happened that the nightmares would have gone away. Rio didn’t seem to be that lucky at all. He could hardly remember the murders in the daytime – he couldn’t comprehend how much of a monster he was when it was bright and happy around him. But when it was dark?
He could see it. He could see the blood in the snow, the blood soaking into his clothes, and… well, the blood. The snow covered the mutilated bodies – the bodies that Rio had smashed the life from – but not the blood that covered the ground. Everything was red, and Rio hadn’t been sure at the time if it was because of his anger or if he had wiped the tears from his eyes with blood-covered hands. Papa.
And he remembered how that one word – papa papa papa – made him continue driving his foot into the skulls of the men. He kept beating them, wishing that if they were dead his father would be alive. He wanted to take back everything. If he were given just one more chance he knew he would do things differently – he wouldn’t let those men have gotten to his papa.
But life didn’t give those second chances, so Riocard Keâts was stuck without a family.
It was during one of those nightmares – at the part where he would uncover his father from the snow and see the discoloration of death – that Rio jerked awake. He fell off the bench he was sleeping on, bile rising from his throat to the cold ground beneath him. He sat up shakily, coughing into the crook of his elbow. He sat back down on the bench, pulling his knees up to his chest feebly.
“It’s okay,” he told himself quietly, wincing at the acrid taste in his mouth. “Everything is fine,” Rio whispered, standing from the bench restlessly. He slung his messenger bag across his shoulders and looked down at himself. He knew that he probably didn’t strike anybody as particularly handsome – not at the moment. His jacket smelled of stale cigarettes and rainwater. His eyes were sunken and the circles around the eyes dark, the color of a bad bruise. The rest of his skin was a ghastly pale, his face slightly tinted with green, hinting at his persevering nausea.
Maybe the nightmares were affecting him more than he liked to admit.
Rio stepped into the main road. He narrowed his eyes as he heard tidbits of other conversations. Something about an operation and the authenticity of aforementioned operation. The young man stepped back. And then someone appeared – appeared? perhaps in his confused, sleepless haze, Rio had merely overlooked him – and talked about a ‘Dark Lord’.
Another wave of nausea crashed over him, and the Frenchman covered his mouth, swallowing the stomach acid with a grimace. The name had set off many warning bells in his head. “Shut up,” he hissed out to himself, hitting his own forehead.
Deciding he didn’t want to mess with the group of people, he scuttled to the back of the motel. He was directly under one of the balconies, and, after climbing on top of a dumpster, he swung himself up on it. He opened the door and slid into the room.

Jenny looked at Alec, “if it is such a big secret then why did you tell me who you were?” Jenny asked curiously. “And does your name really have that much to do with what your secret mission is?”
Alec was making no sense and he just didn’t seem himself. “Are you alright? You keep saying you're sorry to everyone and seem so…. not you.” The way he was acting, she was starting to feel a little sorry for the man. He seemed kind of pathetic compared to his other incarnation.
As a new voice entered the conversation Jenny glanced at the new comer. She frowned slightly at his words. This was shaping up to be a rather awful night. She couldn’t understand why people kept calling her a half-breed, unless…
Was her father a half-breed? She was sure he would have mentioned that. But would he have? He hadn’t mentioned that Time Lords regenerate upon death and that seemed pretty important as well.
There was something about the man that made Jenny think of a viper getting ready to strike.

"She might," said the man in the black duster, who hadn't been at the end of the hall a moment ago. "Or she might not. Could go either way."
The Could've Been King was here. My, it had been awhile. He couldn't say the man (and he used that word incorrectly in the King's case) was a friend, at the same time he hadn't the guts to call him an enemy. He was truly neither. His face was stoic, but his hands curled nervously behind his back. "I suppose."
His mouth felt dry. Above whatever else was going on, he wasn't among friends. He was supportless. "How you doin' Dark Lord? Haven't seen you since, what? Sterapic III? You still suck at cards?"
"Still," he admitted, "Though I've gotten quite good at Blackjack and Solitaire."
Then he stretched and cracked his neck. "And you've assembled a bit of a crew - a Time Lord Asipirant and a... freebirth halfbreed?" A pause. "Is this one of those 'like father like son' cases?"
"It kind of assembled itself." he replied, gesturing to the others. He felt the strange and sudden urge to say something else. "I've found that Jenny's every bit the Timelord I am, whether her biology says it or not." he said calmly.
He heard Jenny talking, and turned his head to look at her. "No, I'm not 'alright' at the moment." he said simply.

Ace stood and listened to the man and shrugged pulling off her sunglasses, putting them on the top of her head, she couldn’t help but wince and close her eyes from the light, reaching up she pinched the bridge of her nose and sighed “ok fine.” she lowered her hand.
She looked up the hall at the newcomer “The Dark Lord?...As in Alec.” she looked at Alec for a second, and then shrugged it off she’d deal with it later and returning her attention to the stranger “Time Lord Asipirant and a... freebirth halfbreed?" “I earned my Timelord title rather then being born with it thank you very much.” she popped her neck and sighed she should stayed at her flat

A clapping is heard from above. A man stands there covered in markings. His eyes red.
"Oh. what a marvelous welcome back party! Time-Lords galore, and You! Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha! You of all people! It wonderful to see you again. Wolf"
He sneers.
"I, am, Fenric, you may also call me The Beast, or the Devil was imprisoned for years but I am back, and the universe Will be mine.
"And for those who doubt my power." He spins and faces a man who exited his room for some ice. He raises his hand, palm open towards the man. The man doubles over then stands up screaming as his flesh decays, and falls away, leaving him as a crumpled pile of bones.
"Now then, you may bow."

(ooc: that what you where expecting Flynn ) Ace’s head jerks up “You!” her skin crawled somewhat when he referred to her as wolf, she turned on a heal and bolted towards a pair of stairs, simultaneously reaching under her jacket unstrapping her guns and pulling them out as she mounted the last of the steps “My name is not Wolf it’s Ace and I’m gonna send you to a place where no matter of wishing will bring you back.”

The Could've-Been King smiled at Alec's bravado, and was about to reply when a sibilant, malevolent voice spoke up from above him.
"Oh. what a marvelous welcome back party! Time-Lords galore, and You! Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha! You of all people! It wonderful to see you again. Wolf"
He looked up. There, covered with the tattoo-like sigils of his Tell, stood the Great Beast himself.
The Could've-Been King tucked his cane under one arm, and applauded lightly. "Bravo. A virtuoso performance. You have, no doubt, struck fear into all our hearts by your ability to strike dead an ordinary-"
There was a roar of anger from the Dark Lord's Aspirant as she threw herself up the stairs three at a time, a gun in each hand. “My name is not Wolf it’s Ace and I’m gonna send you to a place where no matter of wishing will bring you back.”
The Could've-Been King massaged the bridge of his nose. "Ah, Dark Lord. Your Aspirant is far better or much less trained than your daughter. The Great Beast is not a force one tackles with guns."
He flickered, moving through the instants of history, reappearing to grab Ace around the waist and flicker away again.
"Hello," he said, "I'm the Could've-Been King. And may I suggest that, rather than a frontal assault, you try-"
There was another flicker, and the two appeared behind Fenric. "-a flanking maneuver?" With that he released Ace and, drawing an sword made of ideas, he lunged point first for the Beast's heart.

Jenny wished feverently that she would have stayed in her ship, went to hang out with Torchwood, or any other number of things… anything but this. This wish happened even before the sounds of clapping overhead that was then joined with a male voice talking about wolves, Time-Lords, and how bloody all powerful he was.
Jenny wasn’t impressed with his bravo and when Ace took off like a shot to get closer, Jenny couldn’t blame he even a little. It sounded like a good idea, a very good idea… actually, I want a piece of that excitement.
But it was interrupted when Alec’s creepy friend grabbed ahold of Ace and vanished, reappearing high above their heads on either side of the creature that called itself Fenric.
“Bloody hell,” Jenny exclaimed feeling pretty much useless at getting up to the balcony in time to do any good. And though Jenny could probably hit him from where she stood with a bullet or twenty, she also ran the risk of hitting Ace and Alec’s friend.

Fenric simply sidestepped Could've-Been King's Sword.
"Now, now, let's be nice for the time being shall we? I have no need to kill you, I could if I deemed it necessary, but I haven't, don't make me. And you, Wolf, I need your assistance, you see, I need a soldier, a grunt, a servant, you would fit the bill perfectly."
Fenric attempts to haul Ace away. "There are worlds out there where sky needs burn, the seas need to awake, people to be reduced to smoke, cities to be turned to nothing but legends in song, somewhere there isn't danger, somewhere there's justice and somewhere else tea needs to be cold. Come along Wolf, there's work to be done."

As she appeared at the back with The Could've-Been King “Ya thanks I’ll keep that in mind.” she moved out of the way as Could’ve-Been King lunged at Fenric, but kept him in her sites.
When Fenric sidestepped the sword Ace made sure the hammer was primed on her gun and quickly stepped back when reached for her, firing a shot at one of his feet, she did want to kill the body that Fenric had decided to inhabit well Fenric that was as far as she knew the body he was in was probably just some innocent bystander who had gotten caught in the cross fire as it where “You must be out of you mind to think I’d help you.”

Alec put his hands behind his back. "There are worlds where I set fire to the raining skies, seas I have diluted to uselessness, people I've burnt from the outside in, legends I've created from the touch of my finger, I have dispersed dangers of every kind, and right now? Wake up and smell the coffee!"
He crossed his arms, obviously twitching much today. "Step away from Ace." he said darkly.
Alec smiled slowly. "The great devil, eh? Friends, we fight not a battle of flesh and blood, but of the soul, and the mind. Considering we have two Timelords, the Could've Been King, and a human who was influenced by the Doctor for a year..."
His grin was delightfully clever. "Start running, Fenric."

Riocard knew when he got into an awkward situation pretty intuitively by now. And, witnessing a man teleporting and attempting to stab someone else with weird stage makeup on, Riocard knew he had landed in one of those aforementioned awkward situations. He glanced around and – hearing something about the Doctor – perked up a little bit, but didn’t see his kindly little old raven Doctor. Bah. He was hanging underneath Fenric’s balcony. The room he’d previously been in with had been occupied despite his initial observations – he hadn’t taken into account that humans do have bladders, and they may have been inside the bathroom.
Oh well.
So he was hanging upside down on the balcony, hugging it in an attempt not to stick out too much.
“There are worlds out there where skies need to burn, the seas need to awake, people to be reduced to smoke, cities to be turned to nothing but legends in song, somewhere there isn’t danger, somewhere there’s justice and somewhere tea needs to be cold.”
“That doesn’t sound like a very nice place to be,” Rio grumbled quietly, his foot sliding in an effort to keep defying gravity. He muttered something about not being as young and spry as he once was.
“The great devil, eh?”
Devil?!
Riocard’s feet lost their grip and he grabbed the railing of the balcony to keep from falling. Smooth, Rio. Creep on the Devil.
He was face-to-shoe with a man, although he couldn’t be sure whose shoe. He didn’t want to look up just in case there the Devil would be staring back down at him. If he couldn’t see the Devil, the Devil couldn’t see him! Yeah! Great motto!
“Friends, we fight not a battle of flesh and blood, but of the soul, and the mind. Considering we have two Timelords, the Could’ve Been King—“
What prevented him from being king? Rio wondered.
“—and a human who was influenced by the Doctor for a year… “
And a human who accidentally stumbled into an exorcism, Rio thought, trying to look for a way out.
He let out a hefty sigh and lifted himself up. He stood up on the other side of the balcony, the railing separating him from the others. “Uh, hi. I accidentally fell to the bottom of your balcony. No big thing, really, it happens all the time. So, you know, I’ll just let myself out. Nice meeting you all.”
He giggled nervously and slid over the railing, edging towards the door awkwardly.

"Stay right there! They have weapons and if you move they'll kill you...Rio." Fenric smiled, he had entered Rio's mind and learned his name. "You see these people are quite mad.I am may be the devil, but still have my rights. I merely stated that I wish to rule the known galaxy" He places a hand on Rio's shoulder. "If you help me get out if here, I'll get you all the chocolate you can eat...." He says playing off Rio's love for chocolate.

The Could've-Been King looked more annoyed than anything else as Fenric sidestepped his thrust. He tried a few more quick swipes, driving the possessor around the room but accomplishing nothing. Irritated, he dismissed the conceptual blade and considered options.
"There are worlds out there where sky needs burn, the seas need to awake, people to be reduced to smoke, cities to be turned to nothing but legends in song, somewhere there isn't danger, somewhere there's justice and somewhere else tea needs to be cold. Come along Wolf, there's work to be done," the Great Beast announced.
Ace - he was pretty sure that was the name of the pistol-packing Aspirant - didn't seem interested, and made her disinterest clear in no uncertain terms.
Just as he was about to speak, the Dark Lord interrupted. "The great devil, eh? Friends, we fight not a battle of flesh and blood, but of the soul, and the mind. Considering we have two Timelords, the Could've Been King, and a human who was influenced by the Doctor for a year..." His grin was delightfully clever. "Start running, Fenric."
The Could've-Been King threw his hands up in irritation. "No! Don't start running! Stay right here!" He held up a finger. "Look, Fenric? I'll level with you: I really need to consume the psychic force that comprises your true state. It'll give me the power I need to guarantee success in a project of mine. And yes, that will kill you. But, and this is the important but, I can guarantee that when I succeed, you will be alive again. And you will have everything you ever could possibly have had."
He spread his hands. "What do you say?"
What the heck. It might work.
