Lake Silencio, Utah, 2011
Vworp, Vworp
Slowly, a blue box began to materialize in front of Lake Silencio. A man in a stetson and a long brown longcoat stepped out of the box. He adjusted the bowtie he was wearing, and stepped into the fresh air.
"So.."spoke the Doctor.
"Today is the day I die."
The Doctor fixed his Stetson, stepped forward, and grinned.
"GERONIMO!"
Tick Tock goes the clock Oh how the time flies... Tick Tock goes the Clock Till the Day the Doctor dies

Amy and Rory had gotten their invitation and had come to meet The Doctor. Amy rushed The Doctor with a ginormous hug, insanely happy to see him again - the last time she'd seen The Doctor was when he dropped her and Rory off at their new home and explained that he was leaving them behind in order to keep them alive and safe.
It was a bunch of hogwash, Amy thought. Sure, things tended to be a bit more dangerous than usual when one hung out with The Doctor - but Amy never felt more safe than when he was around. That, and she hated being left behind... being made to wait.
But, all of that was forgotten now. They were here in America, visiting The Doctor - things couldn't possibly get any better!
"Nice hat," Amy told The Doctor with a little smirk. She much preferred the Stetson over his usual favorite - the dreaded fashion faux pas: the Fez.

Just moments after Amy had complimented The Doctor's new choice of hat, River silently materialized by way of her vortex manipulator. She had gotten The Doctor's invitation, too, and so she had left the Stormcage of her own accord - again - telling the fifty-first century guards that she was going to a planet called America...
River quickly drew her blaster gun and shot the silly Stetson off of The Doctor's head, announcing her arrival and her continued disapproval of The Doctor's choice of hats.
"Hello, Sweetie," River crooned with a grin as she settled her blaster gun back into its holster.
It was hard to put on a happy face... To keep up the act. River knew what today was... and what it meant for The Doctor.
She'd do anything to avert what was seemingly inevitable, but The Doctor's death at River's hands was a fixed point in time, and before nightfall River would have to watch herself kill the one man she loved most in the whole Universe... She had been unable to prevent it the first time, and she would be unable to prevent it yet again.
(OOC: This may get a little confusing... After we get back from the Diner, there's going to be 2 Rivers to write for in this thread - LOL)

So, do you want to do the 'Wedding of River song?", or 'The Impossible astronaut'? Same story, two different universes. Or, we could do both. _____________________
"Oi!" The Doctor stared at his Stetson, now complete with bullet hole.
He looked up, and smiled at River. "Hello, sweetie." He smiled, then turned to face Amy and Rory.
"So. A picnic. Then...Space. 1969."
He grinned.
He looked behind him at the red car he'd been sitting on. Reaching in, he pulled out a small picnic basket.

"Ooh, a picnic!" Amy said excitedly. "I love picnics," she went on, moving to help set up their blankets and everything for a party of four on the beach at Lake Silencio.
Now, they could have had a picnic anywhere... Anywhen. But, they were having it here and now - and 'here' was way out in America. Utah, to be precise.
"So, what's been happening then? 'Cause ye've been up ta something..."

"1969?" River questioned. "The moon landing was in '69. Is that where we're going?" she asked, citing one of mankind's most prolific achievements. She managed to come off as completely clueless, though; however, River was far from that. She knew very well what was to happen - and, she didn't like it one bit... But, she couldn't let on.
1969 was when she escaped from The Silence as a little girl. They were going to run into her younger self in Florida, then - and she absolutely could not let on that it was her. At least, not until later.
This right here was the beginning of the end... But, River had to keep on a happy face - even though she knew what was waiting for The Doctor beneath the waters of Lake Silencio.
