He enters the T.A.R.D.I.S at break neck speed and immediately began to active the controls, barely giving Sarah enough time to get inside.
"There's no time to explain Sarah! We have to be somewhere and we must be there fast, the stableness of reality depends it! Now hold on I'm going to cross the neutrons in the polarity flow which is going to make for a bumpy ride, hold on to something!" He slams his fist onto a button and The T.A.R.D.I.S roars to life. The Time Rotor begins it's grind and the whole room shakes.

Libby was more focused on a few other things, her mind analyzing the situation. "Likely the acid has a sort of selective process. It's meant to likely only neutralize and dissolve a certain amount of the chemical composition of fully organic items. Things like rock, end up going smooth and clay sludgy like, while grass happens to get smothered and look like someone burned through it." She murmured as she frowned.
"I know, I know that there is something like this out there. I remember researching them. But for the life of me I cannot remember the name of the creature." She said as she looked at her Doctor. A small smile on her face, but she got up off of her knees and dusted herself off. "We are likely in for a bumpy... what is that sound?" She asked with a frown. Her head turning as she wiggled a finger in her ear.

Things like rock, end up going smooth and clay sludgy like, while grass happens to get smothered and look like someone burned through it." She murmured as she frowned.
The Doctor packed some more of the grass and stone into tubes. "That's one hell of a chemical reaction," he pointed out. "It must produce a great deal of waste heat." A grin. "We could probably track this creature - whatever it is - through an infrared spectrometer.>
He looked at the trail left by the creature's passage. "Well, we probably don't need to do anything special to track it. But a network of comparatively crude temperature gauges could serve as an early warning system. Let us know when it arrives and where." He produced a small tablet and a stylus from one pocket, and began scribbling a few initial ideas down.
"I know, I know that there is something like this out there. I remember researching them. But for the life of me I cannot remember the name of the creature."
He looked surprised, and mildly concerned. "Really? Are you feeling well?"
A small smile on her face, but she got up off of her knees and dusted herself off. "We are likely in for a bumpy... what is that sound?" She asked with a frown. Her head turning as she wiggled a finger in her ear.
"What sound?" But even as he said the words, he heard the distant but rising sound of a materializing TARDIS. Slowly, a large blue box appeared by the Inspector's automobile. The Doctor peered at it, curiously. There was something familiar about it...

She ran for all she was worth and arrived panting, the Doctor all but slamming the T.A.R.D.I.S. door on her heels. She sagged against the wall just inside. She let out a groan as she fought her own inertia for the Doctor was rattling off something she did not understand, but garnered immediate action. She pushed away from the wall lurching her way to the control column, catching the railing that ran around it's edge.
Sarah Jane held on tight as the T.A.R.D.I.S. began to rock and roll even more exuberantly than usual.
"Just how fast can a giant slug go?!" She asked, curious, incredulous, and riding out the turbulence.

"Hang on Sarah-Jane, I'm going to put the T.A.R.D.I.S' cloaking field up." He press a button and pulls a leaver, only for the light on the roof of the T.A.R.D.I.S' exterior light up. He shakes his head. "Of course not..." He says gripping his head again remembering seeing the event happen outside decades ago.
"Sarah-Jane, you are a assistant helping me with a very important Time-Lord business, that man out there is me, only younger and not as worldly as I am now, so be respectful Alright? Now then come along Ms. Smith."
With that he strides out of The T.A.R.D.I.S.

The Doctor stood, absently brushing dirt and dew from his knees, watching as the oddly-familiar blue box - It must be a TARDIS, he decided - solidified and then faded from view. Well, almost faded from view. There had been a light fixture on the top, and it remained visible.
Two people emerged from where the box had been, a man and a woman. The man was tall, with dignified features and a shock of curly white hair, wearing a violently red suit with a ruffled shirt. The woman was a brunette, slender and attractive - if your tastes ran towards humans - wearing a brown blazer and cream-colored slacks.
"Who are they?" asked the Inspector as he closed in on the Doctor and the Archivist. "And where did they come from?" He stared at the newcomers. "Think they're related to the monster?"
"No," replied the Doctor, glancing from the Specialist to the approaching couple and back. "What do you think the odds are that the female is named Sarahjanesmith?" he asked, speaking Gallifreyan. And then he frowned. "I don't know of another Time Lord called the Doctor, though."

Everything was clicking into place slowly, the wheels in her head where turning. Calmly she turned her head to stare at him - her eyes narrowed faintly as she tried to figure out how to say this to her Doctor. "Well, Doctor. I do believe you crossed your own time line by mistake." she whispered back to him in their home language. Calmly reaching out she wrapped her fingers around his and squeezed gently.
"I'd suggest against touching him. Don't need any issues cropping up." She said as she dusted off her clothing, and then looked towards the trail that the slug had made. "Disgusting process, but fascinating. All that slime business." She murmured.

It was always so exciting when he turned to her with that look in his eye. A look like he was going to start telling her the secrets of the Universe. Often, he did, and it pleased her to no end.
This time, he was just pulling her leg. Sarah Jane's mouth popped open indignantly to tell him so, but he was already on his way.
"Oh, Doctor." She said in vexation before scrambling after him out of the T.A.R.D.I.S..
They had apparently materialized in a field. Grass. Road. Trees. Fence. There was a slick silvered path of soggy something that did make her human sensibilities instantly think"giant slug trail." There were two people messing about with it. A willowy red head and a graceful young man in a suit. These two were clearly together. A third, a man in a uniform, obviously wished to be elsewhere. When Sarah Jane saw him, she tucked in closer to the Doctor. The Only Doctor.
Younger self indeed, her mind objected, even as she followed quick beside him.

"Libby" He hadn't seen her in years. In a way, he still hadn't, he felt so many things right now he wanted to yell, be rude things he didn't normally do. He had to remain calm and cool, he had to be The Doctor.

"Well, Doctor. I do believe you crossed your own time line by mistake." she whispered back to him in their home language. Calmly reaching out she wrapped her fingers around his and squeezed gently.
"You know that's impossible, right?" he whispered, squeezing her hand in return. "I mean, ignoring the TARDIS a few decades back. It's impossible. The Blinovitch limitation effect states..."
She squeezed his hand again, and he felt a dry amusement from her. "All right," he laughed, "You know the theory at least as well as I do. But - and I'm not ready to admit that that Time Lord is me yet - what could provoke me to cross my own time line?"
"I'd suggest against touching him. Don't need any issues cropping up." She said as she dusted off her clothing, and then looked towards the trail that the slug had made. "Disgusting process, but fascinating. All that slime business." She murmured.
"I don't touch just anybody," he laughed.
"Libby," the older man said as he halted, just a few paces from them. His voice was strained, and there was a peculiar look on his face. His dark-haired companion halted as well, standing close.
"Look, I don't know who you are," the Doctor started to say, "but..."
His voice trailed away. There was a psychic resonance between them, like feedback between two speakers. The older man - the older him was far more skilled at shielding his thoughts - but he could still pick up just enough to leave no doubt that he was standing before himself.
The Doctor's eyes narrowed as he stared at the Doctor. "Why are you here?"

Libby rolled her eyes a little at her partners wording. She gave him a shrew look, and then looked over. "Anything is possible, Doctor, nothing is improbable. It' just takes a lot of hard work, to figure out where things truly lie." She said as she smiled at him, albeit a small rather shy smile. Then she stopped, as she heard a voice say her name, she looked over at the male that had said it. A bit of an uncomfortable look on her face.
Please do not use that name in the open. It can be used as a weapon. I am The Archivist. She stated to The Doctor across from them, with the woman at his side. She straightened and then dusted herself off again. A nervous gesture, that. Her head turned again as she looked towards the slime trail. "It's a mutation of one of the creatures we researched in the academy, I believe. And it does give off a lot of heat when it's this big. They aren't supposed to get this big, often."

She wasn't entirely certain the Doctor wasn't pulling her leg.
His younger self indeed. Though as they neared, the conversation she overheard sounded distinctly "Doctorish".
If it was he, truthfully, then who was this 'Archivist', and more importantly, where was she now? Looking at the younger Doctor, it was clear as day that he was (had been/is/was) in love with her.
Once glance at her own Doctor, and it was clear he still was to this day.
So where is/was the Archivist then/when?
Oh, how these twisted timelines made her head ache, she is/was only human, after all.

The Doctor forced himself to reinforce his psychic barriers, deadening the sensory input but also reducing the mental feedback to a dull roar. He glared at his future self. "All right, my older self - why are you here? What is so utterly important that you would risk destabilizing space-time by crossing our personal timeline?"
He rubbed his forehead, wincing at the feedback, then looked at Sarah. "I'm sorry, I've forgotten my manners. Allow me to introduce myself. I am the Doctor." He glared at the other Doctor. "The younger, but apparently far more responsible, Doctor. And no doubt you've met her as well, as an older woman, but my lovely companion is the Archivist." He smiled at Libby for a moment, then returned his attention to Sarah. "And you, I assume, are Sarahjanesmith?"
"Oh, before I forget - this gentleman is Inspector Jones." He glanced over at the man he had named. "Inspector Jones, I suspect this is the Doctor you were expecting to meet."

"I'm afraid, you're mistaken I am here on mission from The Time-Lords, the C-I-A, to be exact we have tracked a renegade here and Miss Sarah Jane Smith is helping me. L-The Archivist, of course had to stay and attend the Archives of course."
"Now then Inspector Jones, right? Tell me the details of what happened, will you please? He hoped his younger self bought it. He was quite the bright, one, he was The Doctor After all.
