He had no idea what had pulled him to this year. This time. Yet here he was, walking through a street in Cardiff, Wales, more than 7 years after the Battle of Canary Wharf. He had no idea what he was looking for. But he was looking for something. He'd know it when he found it.
He'd left the TARDIS on top of the rift energy to charge. But he'd had plenty of energy, and there were hundreds of places all over the universe that were still oozing with energy from the cracks in time that would have done the same job perfectly fine. No. Something else had called him here, beckoning to him like a siren song. He twirled his Sonic like a baton.
The last time he'd been here...the Cybermen had waged war on the Daleks. Rose had been taken to another universe, and he'd been left alone...again. Until Donna. Then Martha. Then Amy. Then...he was alone again. The very, very last.
A tide of memories flowed through his head, released by his reminiscing. All of his incarnations memories flashed through his head. With each one, he grew sadder and sadder. By the time he reached his First incarnation, a single, lone tear was marching down his cheek. And then a name echoed through his mind. One that made him stop stone cold. A name that echoed back to him across ages long gone.
The Archivist.

She was a woman alone now, she wandered on her own. She ran now, as she had run from the Archives when they were destroyed. She shook her head a little as she walked down the street. She smiled softly to herself. It had been three months since she had re-arched herself. She shook her head again, as she frowned softly. She had just been alone, as alone as one could be. The last time she had been around someone was when she was with Amy and Rory. They had seen the last concert from the Beatles.
She had spoken to Amy about him, and her hearts now ached because she knew that he had forgotten about her. She felt an ache deep down. She had dropped the two of them off, left her number, and a promise to come back. She kept all her promises, and did her best to never lie. Unfortunately the one broken promise, kept eating at her. She shook her head a little as she felt that deep down ache rise up in her. She had to prevent herself from crying.
She felt it then, a voice echoing her name. Her eyes widened as she followed the sensations of that voice. Her steps continued to take her down a certain path, and she was actually worried and scared now. She knew that voice, and she had felt that she had ruined all chances with that voice. But despite all her efforts to keep herself from going that way, she found herself drawn towards the youthful energy. She didn't even know why she went, but she did.
She felt excited like that first date they had, there in the Royal square. Her eyes closed as she pressed her fingers over her eyes. Feeling the old ache rise up. But still she continued. Because she couldn't stay away from him. She saw him then, all raggedy but still her Thete. She didn't care about traffic of danger to herself, she bolted across the street and threw her arms around his neck. Her face buried in his chest as she started to cry. One single word leaving her leaps, whispered and full of pain.
"Doctor."

Less than a second later, The Doctor found himself enveloped in a hug. Arms wrapped around his neck and a head buried in his chest. His eyes widened in surprise. And then...the rhythmic thumping of...of...twin hearts. So close to his body he could feel it. Time Lord.. Immediately, he knew who it was.
"Libby." he murmured. "You're...alive." He wrapped his hands around her waist. He didn't know what to feel. Sadness, Anger, Love, and a million other emotions flooded through his mind. "Doctor.", she murmured. "Libby.", he responded. He stopped thinking, and pulled her closer.

Libby didn't care, new body or not. Both of them had a new body, and she wasn't anything like the vibrant red head he knew back then. Or perhaps she was, still quiet and mousy at times. Not as cold as she used to be, but she also had that same habit of hiding herself in her hair. It was a silly habit for an adult to have, but she didn't really care too much. She continued to cry quietly, her chest heaving up and down as she tried to breath normally.
"I haven't heard that name in a long time, with you looking this young." She said as she stared up at him. She started to wipe the tear tracks off her face when a fresh wave fell, she was laughing softly. Mostly because she was too happy, and too sad, for words to even comprehend. "I'm alive... I chameleon arched myself for a long time, and hid my TARDIS. I ran like the coward I am. I ran from that War, and I hid."

The Doctor froze.
"The Time War. I ran from the Time War." Images flashed through his mind, burning themselves into his retinas. The Daleks attacking the Citadel. Hundreds dying, only to regenerate and die again. And things he'd heard...things he'd never seen. Davros flying into the Jaws of the Nightmare child. The Could've-Been King, and his army of Meanwhiles and Neverweres.
"Yes. I ran too. In more ways than one. I locked Gallifrey in the Time-Lock. My fault. It's my fault they're gone."
He hugged Libby tighter. "But you...you survived. All these years, I thought it was my fault you were gone, but you survived."
H looked into here eyes. "You survived."

Libby felt the flashes of the images of his mind. Her eyes widened as she stared at him. She felt the pain well up inside her, as she cupped his cheeks and stared up at him. The pain flashing through her and him. "My library burned, all of it. But I have it all here... in my mind. Like the freak I am. All of Gallifrey, every persons history that was submitted, every name and every title. Everything... is here..." She whispered as she pressed her forehead into his shoulder.
She shook and she started to cry, laughing weakly as she held on to him. "I am surprised you thought so much of me, when I pushed you away. I'm so sorry Theta..." She whispered his name low, so no one but him could hear. "I did it to save my family, the council threatened us. I would have never left you, unless I had to." She whispered as she held on to him.
The pain was too much for the woman, she felt her whole world sliding around and through her, in a kaleidoscope of pain. She was holding him in her arms again, the man she loved so dearly. All she could do was cry.

In his arms, Libby began to cry.
"No. don't cry. It's over. It's all over. And I don't blame you. Not anymore. I never did, really."
He hugged Libby in closer. "I love you. I truly do." He hugged her agai.

Libby found herself calming, as she always did in his arms. Reaching out with her mind, as her arms held him tight. You've run so long and hard, Doctor. But when a voice of the past confronts you, will you run all the faster - or will you hold it fast? She whispered to him, as she pulled back. Taking a deep breath to wipe at her face. "I met Amy, and she told me so much about you...it made me so sad to hear, but at the same time... it was wonderful." She admitted as she pulled back further.
She was adjusting her clothing now, stopping as she realized the sound of dual hearts was still in her ears. Her hand pressing to his chest, as she laughed weakly. She put her glasses in place, and sighed as she messed with her hair a little. She was nervous, especially since she didn't look like his libby anymore. "My name here was Seren Ash... " She said with a gentle smile. "I haven't heard Libby, in a long time, till The Master said it to me."
