Observing the CCTVs monitors, Ianto saw Gwen was with another woman down in the shooting range. He wondered if that was Sarah Jane. He quickly ran her name through his computer. She had adopted a son. It was the normal for what Police investigators find on her.
He stood up from the chair, left the monitor on and the view screen on his finding on Sarah Jane. Jack, Tosh or Owen will know where to find Ianto. He made it obvious.
---------
Ianto was quiet as he moved his way to the shooting range. He had no weapon on him. He left the HUB without one. He decided to let them he knew he was there. It was all on video up stairs. He stood there watching them in his silence. The other female was a good shot. He was not surprise they did not notice him. He watched Jack for half hour without Jack noticing.

Gwen caught Sarah Jane as she was blasted back by the beast of a gun that was still in her hands. Gwen laughed alongside her friend, finding it all very fun. Wiping the tears of oxygen deprivation from her eyes, Gwen sighed and smiled. "Really I'm just teasing. We've never had to use those guns before. It's for emergencies only." Gwen patted her friend on the arm playfully. "Look at you, though! Handling that monster like a natural! On my first day I could hardly make heads or tails of the .22!"
Gwen sat on an empty space on the armory's table, her feet a few inches off the ground. "See? While being peaceful and diplomatic has its perks, shooting everything in sight with some good, old-fashioned, Earth weaponry is fun too." Gwen laughed a bit more, and then remembered what she had been planning to ask Sarah Jane about.
Gwen hopped off the table, and ran towards the stairwell. That's when she noticed Ianto. "Oh! Hello Ianto! I have to get something from upstairs..." Gwen turned around towards Sarah Jane, and with an impish grin, said to the man behind her, "Why don't you keep Sarah Jane here company?" Gwen ran past Ianto, up the stairs. "I'll only be a second, Sarah Jane!"

She transfered the grip of the big gun into Gwen's hands, not knowing how to put it safely down. "You brat!" She declared, laughing still as Gwen confessed. Sarah Jane gave her a good thwap on the arm after Gwen socked her a little. "I can't believe you did that."
Gwen went to the stairwell while Sarah Jane went for her rolling suitcase. She tipped it gently over and started to unzip the fine, thick zippers with care. She wondered if Ianto would join her. She was curious about him. She was still chuckling over Gwen and the FN P90. Well, Sarah had some surprises for Gwen as well.

Ianto was startled as Gwen leaped up at him. He stepped back, his back hitting the wall because he was unprepared as Gwen spoke to him. Standing there, he watched her run away. Ianto straighten his blue tie, he stepped forward, turned to look at Sarah Jane. He had a small smile because it happened all too fast.
“Hello,” Ianto said, waving his hand in the air to her. He was looking at the weapon Sarah Jane had. He was not sure what to say. “Unpacking for lunch?” It came out without him realizing it.

When Gwen reached the main room of the Hub, she began searching on her table for her research on the journal. That's when she noticed Ianto's station, with the CCTV of the shooting range still open. Gwen sat down at Ianto's computer, watching him and Sarah Jane, chuckling a bit.
Hopefully, Sarah Jane would enjoy the eye candy. Gwen figured she could stand to wait just a bit before getting the book and going back downstairs.

She stood, a Sontarn Blaster in it's two pieces cradled in her hands. She sets them down on the table gently and looks over at him there, cute as a curly pup.
"Thanks Ianto. I hear good things about you as well." She turned her focus to her task, easily fitting the pieces together hand holding it up to set the electric locks with that let loose small puffs of coolant. It is not quite as heavy as the FN P90. She looked back to Ianto.
"Have you ever held one of these Ianto?"

Smiling, Ianto was pleased Sarah said what she said. “I try my best.” The gun was huge. What was a woman like packing one of those? Who was she? She wasn’t UNIT. She was someone with a big alien weapon.
“No,” he quickly replied. He wasn’t sure what to ask. “It’s not Earth. Alien.” He did not want to say too much either for his own protection. She was old too. She might be a heavy smoker. That’s why she look older.

She held it up before her own eyes, checking all the readouts.
"You are correct, Ianto." She flashed a smile at him and let the big gun drop to be cradled in her arms, pointed well away from them both. "It's a Sontaran Blaster." Sarah Jane turned, swung it up from her hip and squeezed the trigger with her mind. There was a high, whirring electric sound, and red light shot out to whip and obliterate one of the targets. The hardest part was holding on. She looked back to him, paper still floating down like snow. "Waves that range hard all the way from sound to light and beyond. Deadly. You should try it. Come on over. It won't bite, I won't let it."

Sarah Jane had a warm spirit. That was a sign that break the barrier of trust. It was a sign Ianto did not like. She had a warm smile. He could see why Gwen liked Sarah Jane.
“AGH!” he screamed as he jumped when she shot the gun. The loudness spooked him. It was a gun with a big blast.
Then she invited him to try to use the gun. He was taken back. Her eyes are best attribute to unarm people. Well, that trick won’t work on him. She was expecting him man handle Sonataran blaster. “I best not,” he replied. He was no fan of using a gun. He was trained to use one. She was almost knocked off her feet.
“Where did you get it?” it was asked questions and keep her off him tactic.

She put the gun down immediately, seeing that it frightened him.
"Commander Kaagh shot me with it so I kept it as a memento." Sarah Jane took his measure with her eyes and moved to Gwen's little 22 with the silencer on it. That would do quite nicely. She picked it up an showed him.
"Come on Ianto, you came down here. It's your turn. I think you can handle this." Not that she intended to release it from her own grip until he had a steady stance and the right grip pointed down the deep cavern before them.. "It's got a silencer. It won't even hurt your tender ears."

Come on Ianto, you came down here. It’s your turn. I think you can handle this. It’s got a silencer. It won’t even hurt your tender ears.
Sarah Jane was being kind and talking encouraging words to the coffee boy, but, he stayed where he was. He was not tender. God he was not an outgoing man. He could hold his own ground and he was capable to protect his team members. He knew how to handle the gun. He looked over his shoulder hoping Gwen to come and save him from Sarah Jane. He did not see or hear her. He could not tell her she was wrong, that's now how he worked. He felt sick in his stomach.
“I came down here to check the inventory,” he said. “You can keep practicing.” He slid his hands on the railing as he walked down the stairs slowly. He was nervous but he hides it. He was never good with strangers.

She put the 22 down, careful to orient it down the target area. She went over to Ianto who seemed to be staying half in the shadows. After what she'd heard about him and Jack, she was quite curious. She could see what he liked in Ianto and wanted to see more. She walked over to him.
"What are you counting?"

“I am counting the guns,” he said, sounding very business. He reached in his suit’s jacket he pulled out his note book. Slipping the pen out, he went to the table. Looking down, he wrote down what on the table. Sarah Jane was on his heels. She was curious.
Wondering where Gwen was Ianto was writing, but not taking his eyes off the note book. “Do you like you tea or coffee?” he asked looking at her. She was pretty for her age. Did Gwen seek companionship from Sarah Jane? He heard Owen talk about Sarah was like a mother. Owen did not Ianto was in the room when he was mumbling. He knew Gwen was close to her parents and she loved and had Ryhs. Was Gwen gay like him? Was Sarah Jane and Gwen to Jack Harkness? Did he share the same feelings he had with his coffee boy? Would Jack leave Ianto behind? Will he forget him? He blinked his eyes because his mind was wondering away.

His handwriting was fabulously neat. Colloquial. Reflective of a detailed man. He really was counting the guns. She followed him, evaluating him, measuring him.
"Did you come to work here because of Jack? Isn't that what they all do? He's special, isn't he? So you must be too. So why are you so nervous, Ianto?"

He was listening to her. She was indeed curious. She was asking about Jack. Is the universe surrounded Jack. How great is Jack? Great jacket you have! ‘I know,’ Jack would reply. Sharp jaw, egotistic and he never dies. God, he hate Jack at times, but he has nights he can’t sleep because he constant think about Jack.
“No, I had other reasons at first…I don’t care to share” he replied. He looked at his neat hand writing thinking how everyone likes Jack. His insides was tumbling and his breathe was short and shallow. “Yes, you can say he is special.” He admitted that Jack was special. “I am not sure me being special,” he added. His father never saw him special. Jack did not find him special. Ianto had to fight his way to be in Torchwood. He was not recruited like the others. He manipulated Jack with what skills he had. That was not special. Owen was special. Tosh was special. Gwen was special. Jack sought for Susan, Tosh and Owen. Gwen earned herself to be recruited. They were special. Ianto can’t see himself special he was just the butler.
He looked at her, “I am not nervous,” he lied.
