(the 171st century)
The Delirium Archive:
The delirium archive was the universes largest museum. it was the final resting place of the headless monks and the universes most priceless objects. and someone had broken in and stolen the Key of Rassilon. An object left over from the last great time war.
The glass case behind which it stood now lie empty with bits of broken glass shattered upon the floor. before he left Izzy wrote his name on the wall with spray paint adding his signature to his crime.
then with a press of a button he was gone. his vortex manipulator teliported him to Earth. The Judoon had no jurisdiction over the planet. he knew he could hide out in its past.
---
meanwhile the shadow proclimation had summoned the doctor and ordered him to find and retrive the key and bring the young man back into police custody.

The Doctor sat, glowering at the man in front of him. "You dare!" he said, in a firm voice. "You dare to interfere with the workings of my TARDIS, to bring me to this... this place - whatever it may be -"
"This is the Shadow Proclamation, Doctor," the being seated opposite him said.
The Doctor waved his hand dismissively. "The Shadow Proclamation?" he echoed in tones of mocking disbelief. "The Shadow Proclamation? My, how sinister."
"We are -"
"I find I simply do not care, Director Maladreaux. Shadow Proclamation, indeed. Were you shut out from the ruling Coalition Proclamation, perchance?"
"This is-"
"Tut! I repeat myself: I find that I simply do not care." He rose, dusted his coat off, and turned to leave. "Do not attempt to hinder me," he said darkly. "I will find my own way out." He fitted his key to the lock of the TARDIS.
"It's Izzy Smith, Doctor."
The Doctor turned the key. "Indeed? And why, pray tell, should I concern myself with an 'Izzy Smith'?"
"He has stolen the Key of Rassilon."
A snort of derisive laughter burst from the Doctor's lips. "Stolen the Key of Rassilon?" He half turned to look at the Director. "The ceremonial key of the Lord Castellan?"
He waved a dismissive hand. "Even if I were to credit your absurd claim - and it is absurd - I find that I still do not care."
The Director started to speak, and the Doctor cut him off. Fury blazed in his eyes. "That moribund collection of fossils can burn, for all I care. If their Key is missing, let them attend to it. I am simply not interested."
He slammed the door of the TARDIS. Within a matter of seconds, the vessel faded away, accompanied by the familiar roaring drone of the time rotor.
The Director stared at the spot the TARDIS had occupied, a scant handfull of instants earlier. "Well," he said, "that could have gone better."
The Doctor was still fuming, even as the time rotor cranked, carrying him further and further from the self-important fools that had disrupted his journey. But the old ship made good time, and his mood was restored before she began her rematerialization sequence.
"Let's see," the Doctor murmured, checking the gauges. "Radiation levels are safe, atmospheric temperature and pressure are comfortable... Yes, admirable! Let's see where we are!"
Sweeping his opera cloak about his shoulders and perching his hat atop his head, he opened the TARDIS doors and stepped outside.

the Foggy streets of Victorian London. Izzy stood under the gas lamp dressed in his period trench coat. he reached into his pocket and pulled out a pocket watch waiting for the doctor to trace the vortex manipulator that he always wore around his wrist. "Any minute now."
Izzy turned to hear the infamous wheezing noise the Tardis always made as it materialized back into reality. a sound that he found he had grown quite fond of.
He knew the doctor would trace his vortex manipulators energy signature and find him. as the Doctor poked his head out Izzy greeted him with a smiled and said, "What's up doc?"

He stepped into the foggy streets, taking a deep breath. London. Victorian or Regency period, most likely. Certainly still in the early stages of the industrial revolution - the tang of coal smoke was omnipresent.
The Doctor locked the door of the TARDIS. First, he thought, I simply must acquire a newspaper and determine what year it is. Then...
"What's up doc?"
He straightened up and turned to face the speaker. He proved to be a young man, well dressed, with a cocksure grin.
The Doctor harumphed. "Do I know you?"

"No, but your going to." Said Izzy with a smile. "Izzy smith, future companion."
suddenly something in Izzy's jacket pocket started to beep sounding like an alarm. it was the scanner he wore around his wrist. "Oh god, they found me!"
for little did the doctor know that even now as they stood there. the Tardis was being watch by the cold unfeeling eyes of the cyber king.
-----
"Facial recognition software confirmed. we have found the doctor. send out the cyber soldiers to retrieve the key of Rassilon and delete the doctor. " He raised his arm and in a flash a dozen cyber soldiers teliported before the Doctor and Izzy.
"Don't shoot I am unarmed." Said Izzy. which was a lie of course. he was always armed either with his blaster or with his sonic pen.
"Izzy smith you shall come with us." they ordered.
"No, I won't" Said Izzy. He knew that they would never shoot him as long as he knew where the Key of rassilon was hidden."
"Then we shall delete the doctor if you refuse. he is of no importance."
"Doctor, bit of advice. Run!" Said Izzy hopping he would let him into the Tardis and take off.

"Izzy Smith. Future. Companion." The Doctor said dryly. "You mean I'm going to keep collecting stow-aways?" He held up a hand. "No, no, don't tell me. Let me pretend a while longer that I will be able to continue to enjoy my solitude."
The young man's jacket chose that moment to beep in a most un-Victorian fashion. "Oh god,' he cried, clearly alarmed, "they found me!"
The Doctor leaned on his twisted briarwood cane with both hands. "Who? The Shadow Proclamation - whatever they are - or the Castellan Guard?"
With a flash of light, the answer presented itself in the form of a dozen humanoid robots.
"Don't shoot I am unarmed." the young man said.
"Izzy smith you shall come with us." they ordered.
"No, I won't" Said Izzy.
"Well," the Doctor observed, "they must be from this 'Shadow Proclamation'. The Guard hasn't used automata in milennia."
"Then we shall delete the doctor if you refuse. he is of no importance."
"Excuse me?" The Doctor's tone was one of indignation and outrage. "Delete me? I hardly know this young man. By all means, apprehend him. But," he said fiercely, tapping the closest Cyberman in the chest with his cane, "Leave. Me. Out."
"Doctor, bit of advice. Run!"
"Hey, what?" He sounded irritated. And then he looked at the dozen or so robots that clearly intended to do him an injury in the pursuit of this larcenous young man. They stared back, blank faces making them all the more menacing.
"Ah, yes. I take your point." With a darting motion he legged it down the street, faster than one would expect from a man of his apparent years.

Izzy ran close behind taking out his blaster. he took out two of the cyber men leaving 10 to go. it was fortunate for the Doctor and Izzy that they were slow and only were programmed to march like robots. Of course he wondered why in the world the Doctor didn't just run back inside the Tardis. oh why did the doctor have to run the wrong way...
"Doctor like it or not your in this as much as I am." said Izzy, "We need to get back to the Tardis and retrieve the Key of Rassilon before they do. if they get ahold of it they could take over the Time Lord Matrix!"
after they were both a safe distance from the army of Robots Izzy say down beside the doctor. he had never seen this incarnation before but had heard stories. enough to know that he was going to be difficult. "Doctor you sen't me back into your past to meet you. You told me to steal the key and find this incarnation of you." explained Izzy.

The Doctor leaned against a wall, gasping for breath. It had been a long, long time since he'd run either this far or this hard, and this particular body seemed to be aging faster than he would have expected. Must be my heritage, he grumbled.
And then what Izzy said began to sink in. "The..." he wheezed, "The Key... of Rassilon?" A few more deep breaths. "And why... pray tell... would that mob... of robots... have it."
More deep breaths. "It is in the custody of the Keeper of the Matrix, last I heard. And while I may not have much business with Gallifrey these days, I believe I would have heard if the Homeworld had been invaded."
"Doctor you sen't me back into your past to meet you. You told me to steal the key and find this incarnation of you." explained Izzy.
"Wait," the Doctor ordered, holding up his hand. "You stole it? Why don't you just return it, then? Carefully, so as to avoid the wrath of the Chancellary Guard?"

"Wait," the Doctor ordered, holding up his hand. "You stole it? Why don't you just return it, then? Carefully, so as to avoid the wrath of the Chancellary Guard?"
Izzy didn't have the heart to tell him of the future destruction of his home world or that one day he would be the last of his kind. good god this incarnation of the doctor was an old stick in the mud. "Wibly wobbly, timey whimey!" Said Izzy dismissing what the doctor said. "Good god your difficult young!!!" said Izzy hitting his head in frustration. he needed to somehow convince the doctor that what he said was true. but when one lives outside of time as they do. things tend to get difficult.
Izzy got down on his knees looking into his old friends eyes and said. "Please doctor, I know that you've only just met me. but from my perspective I've known you for years. I trust you with my life. now i need you to trust me just this once." tears began to form in his eyes as the cyber men drew closer.

"Wibbly. Wobbly." The Doctor's tone was dry. "Please tell me you did not learn to describe the vagaries of time travel in that fashion from me."
Izzy got down on his knees looking into his old friends eyes and said. "Please doctor, I know that you've only just met me. but from my perspective I've known you for years. "Oh, for the love of..." the Doctor looked around the corner of the building. The robots were gaining. "Izzy. I promise you that, if you can use your little buzzy gun to do something about those robots, I will give you my full and undivided attention for as long as is required for you to explain yourself."
He looked back at the young - or, at least, young looking - man. "I have no desire to be 'deleted'. Do we have an arrangement?"

Izzy said nothing. he merely stood up walking around the corner gun in hand. "Hey, Tin man!" he said as he fired off six rounds from his lazer pistol taking out the rest of the cyber men. He walked around them giving each one a double tap in the head to be sure the human brain inside was dead. however he knew that the suites wouldn't stay dormant for long.
he rushed back to the doctor helping the elderly gentlemen to his feet. "now you were saying something about offering me a lift if I took care of the tin men?" said Izzy with a smile. it was amazing Izzy hadn't even broken a sweat. but that was Izzy adorably dangerous.
as he walked down the street escorting the doctor to the Tardis he Looked this incarnation over. "You know your quite adorable in this incarnation. a bit like Peter Cushing. I met him once, lovely man."

The Doctor gave him a stern look. "No. I said nothing about 'offering you a lift'." He raised a finger, silencing Izzy's response. "This body may be aging at an unnatural rate, but there is nothing wrong with my mind or my memory. Our arrangement was that you would deal with the robots - which you have, although I observe now that they must be some form of cyborg - and that I would give you whatever time you require to explain yourself."
He gestured curtly with his finger as Izzy tried to speak again. "I made no mention of my TARDIS, and I have little patience for people who attempt to put words in my mouth, young man. So find us a cafe, or a pub, or something of that nature, and explain yourself."
With that, he allowed Izzy to lead him out of the alley. "You know your quite adorable in this incarnation. a bit like Peter Cushing. I met him once, lovely man."
"Adorable?" he echoed in faint disapproval. "I should rather hear 'dignified', 'noble', or, perhaps, 'wise'. Words like 'adorable' should be reserved for small children and fluffy animals."

"Aww your cute when your cranky. kinda like professor Higgins from my fair lady." said Izzy teasingly.
he lead the doctor to a nearby pub. they took a seat in a dark little corner in the back. Izzy Took a seat across from the doctor. "Well before we get started I should tell you doctor I;m older than I look. when I was 19 I had an operation that slowed down my body clock. I'm quite old mind you. not as old as you but still very old. I turned 51 last may..."
However he digressed the doctor had come here to talk to him. he needed to get back to the matter at hand.
"Well doctor you wanted to talk. were alone, talk..." he said somewhat flurtaciously. not that Izzy had a thing for the doctor. he flirted with everyone.

"Fifty-one?" The Doctor looked mildly scandalized. "Fifty-one, and already a thief? My dear young man, when I was fifty-one..." His voice trailed off as he remembered the sorts of things he was doing at that age.
He sighed. "Well, actually, I was boosting TARDISes for weekend joyrides with..." He bit the name off, a mixture of anger and loss in his eyes. "It's not important. And I suppose fifty-one is significantly older by human standards, anyway."
The Doctor ordered a pint and a whiskey as they took their seats in the pub.
"Well doctor you wanted to talk. were alone, talk..." he said somewhat flurtaciously. not that Izzy had a thing for the doctor. he flirted with everyone.
Another stern look, somewhat spoiled by the fact that his face was half-concealed by the pint of lager. He sat the mug down, and tried it again. This time, the effect was spoiled by traces of foam clinging to his face.
"You were the one that came to me, claiming to have been sent back in time by myself to meet me, and to deliver the Key of Rassilon." He sipped his beer. "I'll accept, for the moment, that you may have acquired the Key - you know what it is, which is certainly a point in favor of your claim. But it would seem to me that you are the one that knows what is going on, and what I should do with said Key."
He downed the whiskey, and followed it with another mouthfull of beer. "So, assuming you have it, why would I have wanted it? What do I want myself to do with it?"

Izzy was starting to become annoyed. if he was going to get the doctor to go to the place he hid the key. he was going to have to level with him. he would have to tell him the horrible truth about himself. "Doctor in the future you told me about a time war, the last great time war. from what you told me. it was the war to end all wars. after it was over bits and pieces of your world were scattered threw out eternity. one of the things that survived it was the key of rassilon. when the cyber men discovered that it still existed they say it as a way to go back in time to before the war started and use the key to invade the matrix and concur the time lords once and for all."
Having said that Izzy waited to hear what you would say.
