His comment about this man being Disney seemed to have mixed reviews. The Djinn pressed closer to Alec’s leg, feeling unsettled. Blue hadn’t liked the way the Meddler had winced, and he certainly didn’t like the idea of being laughed at. He looked down at his paws, grousing inwardly about how he really wasn’t stupid, but it hadn’t been like anybody was too keen on telling the confused dog any vital information.
He was quite content to wallow in his self-pity until the end of the universe until the Guardian filled him in on his blunder. “I take on forms that suit the role I play,” the man said. Blue sighed, having already suspected as much. It was still within the realm of his understanding, as he knew that he did much the same thing – only he had to actively work at it, and this Guardian seemed to be able to shift automatically. “If I were to manifest exclusively to the Djinn, perhaps I would appear as Solomon.”
Those words had him up on his feet, the hair on the dog raised slightly. Flashes of being shackled and chained rose to the forefront of his mind. He’d endured an endless torture under the rule of Solomon. The cruel man had even tried to separate Blue from his Lamp. He gritted his teeth, trying to calm himself down. “I see,” Blue said thickly.
Was Disney the vicious ruler of this land?
“Three Time Lords. A Sidhe. A Djinn. A time agent. A guide.”
Blue listened on, bewildered at the task at hand. He had no idea what this ‘Kingdom Hearts’ was, but it certainly didn’t sound very excellent. And a Key to Time just sounded deadly. Why did Time need a Key? Who lost the original key? Why wasn’t there a copy of it? He almost asked if they could cut corners and ask a locksmith, but he refrained from speaking. Obviously it wasn’t as easy as that or it wouldn’t be a problem. The ‘key’ was probably some sort of weird metaphysical thing that Blue would never hope to understand.
He sighed and took to the form of a bluejay, landing on the Dark Lord’s shoulder. “What now, Alec?” he asked, patiently awaiting instructions from his master.
