Physical Description: Shining, black hair that falls across her collarbones and frames her face sweetly. Her face is heart shaped, and she has full lips and almond shaped eyes the color of dark chocolate. Even for a Japanese woman, Tosh is incredibly short, sizing in at five foot two. A beautiful woman. she often hides behind her glasses and lab coat
Personality: Despite her generally gentle and passive demeanor, Tosh is very confident when it comes to her job. Never doubt he technical skill, because she will readily prove you wrong. Outside of the 'office', however, she is soft-spoken and often second-guesses herself. Most pertinently, she doubts herself in matters of romance.
Despite her lack of confidence in herself romantically, she is a bit of a hopeless Romantic. She falls in love easily, and is often disappointed when such endeavors fall through, taking it as an insufficiency in herself.
She is an incredibly private person, and even in circles of people who know her best, not much is really known of her outside of work.
History: Toshiko 'Tosh' Sato was born in 1975 in London, though her parents relocated in Osaka two years after her birth until 1986, when they returned to London. As an airforce brat, she was used to moving around frequently, and never made too many lasting friendships.
In 2003, in an attempt to retrieve her parents, who had earlier been kidnapped, Toshiko stole plans for and successfully built a Sonic Modulator, a human-made Sonic Screwdriver of sorts. Impressed by her efforts, Captain Jack Harkness offered her a position at Torchwood, one she happily accepted.
Therin, she found the comradeship she so terribly missed out on growing up. Her coworkers quickly became like a second family to her (despite the incestual implications of her feelings toward Owen). Still though, she keeps many of them at bay, reserving most her secrets for herself and herself alone.
Her love life could hardly be considered dull. Because she falls so easily, she can be a bit easily manipulated, and on more than one occasion, she has fallen for a particularly manipulative alien.
