Canon/Original Original
Name: Cipher
Birth Name: Magdalene Paige Remington
Age: 96
Species: Human-Gallifreyan Time Lady (Time Tot depending on who you talk to)
Planet of Origin: Earth
Occupation: Traveler
Physical Description:
Cipher stands at five foot, three and weights one hundred and twelve pounds. She has long stringy golden blond hair and piercing blue-gray eyes. At least in this life she does, she has no set outfit as she likes to change things up. There always more than a few outfits she prefers over others, especially if they’re rather colorful. You will always see her in a long sleeve shirt, hoodie, converses, and a pair of jeans. Unless she’s wound up in the Victorian Era somehow, then she tries to fit in with the time.
Personality:
Cipher is considered a child by Gallifreyan standards, considering she is ninety-six years old. Time Lords and Ladies don’t regenerate until they’re at least five hundred years old. Because of that very thing, she is very much like a child at times, having a curious nature about her and the world around her. Despite that, she can at times think like an adult, at least by human standards. Though she doesn’t remember a single thing about her last life. Within the last year, she is still getting over her Regeneration Sickness since hasn’t had someone of the Time Lord persuasion to help her along. Cipher is still devouring the books in regards to Time Lords and Gallifrey and has yet to come up with a reason why she was abandoned. She has no idea what has really happened.
If there is one thing that can distract her, it’s her books and she can lose all track of time. She rather is keen on reading books on Gallifreyan Physics and Mathematics and is only barely getting grips on their language as well. She is still learning, and intends to master it. One thing she hasn’t gotten use to is that she can feel the planet Earth spinning and falling simultaneously and often has to crawl back into the TARDIS due to her hyper-sensitivity to Time and Space. Cipher intends to be able to stay an hour outside the ship eventually and center herself somewhere, though she may need help with that.
History:
Cipher was born Magdalene Paige Remington in Corpus Christi, Texas to James and Willow Remington in 1980. They were a lower middle class family, Maggie was an only child and had grown up in a loving home. Before she attended elementary school, she spent her days with her Grandmother while her parents worked to provide stability in her life. Her family struggled to meet ends meet but the Remingtons were strong together, and never asked for hands out. When Maggie attended school, she was a quiet student who had a knack for mathematics as the years passed.
It was however January first, nineteen ninety-eight that her world would change forever. Maggie and five hundred and ninety-nine people were abducted. It seemed that the six hundred were people who had no futures; they would hold no influence on the future, present, or past. Each of them were giving a word to be referred to after they were put through a series of tests. Maggie became Cipher, because it seemed her biological make up seemed the most likely to be able to make the transformation from Human to Gallifreyan. At the time, she hadn’t made it to her eighteenth birthday yet.
For the next twenty years, she and her fellow experiments were put though the ringer. Two hundred people died before the rest of them rebelled and Cipher was already most of the way there to becoming the first successful experiment in the entire project. However, with the rebellion came more a vicious gorilla campaign, in the end, the Gallifreyans had been driven off of the camp and more than half of the four hundred pseudo-Time Lords and Ladies were dead. Cipher was forty-five by the time had been said and done, her body was already breaking down, either to die or regenerate.
However, it would be fifty years before her body broke down finally that she was willing to rest all together. When it did, the most surprising thing happened, she regenerated, and woke up in the form of not a 95 year old woman but a twenty-something year old with golden hair and blue-gray eyes. She managed to stumble into the cargo area and found a beaten up TARDIS in the form of storage case and she collapsed. The Second Cipher was born and unknown to her, the ship had started for one last ride.
Cipher arrived on Earth one year ago and has been mainly living in the rickety old TARDIS in Cardiff since then.
Additional Information:
Cipher is in the process of making her second Sonic Screwdriver, considering her last one blew up.
