It was delicious like ice cream so cold it burnt your mouth. She had intended to stay quiet, but she clutched at Alec's hand and made small moans of relief as her eyes were washed clean. When Sisilaya was done, she let go, held her hands up before her eyes and mercifully closed them for the first time in about 7 and a half hours. It felt so good she groaned again. She opened her eyes to slits when the woman put a hand on her shoulder.
"I know it probably still burns.. but can you see?" Sisilaya asked.
The slit of the room and the woman that she could see was wavery with how much her eyes were now watering. She didn't care. It was a beautiful sight.
"You're beautiful." Sarah Jane blurted unexpectedly even to herself. Well, she supposed the woman was used to it. Torn lids still bleed though, and a moment later everything was washed with pink again. She put her head down so it would drip out not in. "I can see. I can see enough. I think I'm alright. Oh, thank you." She said, thanking luck almost as much as she was thanking Sisilaya.

The recharging process was going smoothly, and the Meddler had dragged the imprisoned Angel over to lean against one wall. He considered it there, arms outstretched, and smiled again. "Don't move," he said, patting it on the face, "Let me remember you like that, just the way you are."
He laughed, and was disappointed that Sarah Jane hadn't laughed with him. He looked at the chair he'd seated her in, and blinked. She was gone.
There was a quick second of alarm, before he realized he was being foolish. Sisi had probably just taken her down to the infirmary as well. So, catching up his cane and waving to the Angel, he left the console room.
Yep. He'd been right. Of course he'd been right. He was always right.
Except that one time. And that really didn't count.
He leaned in the doorframe, watching Sisi work on Sarah Jane's eyes while Sarah Jane held Alec's hand. He hadn't expected that particular relationship, but what the heck. He hoped they'd be happy. The Doctor was, as usual, fizzing with nervous energy.
"How do things look, Sisi?" he asked. "Any permanent damage?"

Sisi just chuckled softly and shook her head, a smirk on her face at being called 'beautiful'. She gave Alec a sidelong glance "She has more flair then you do when you flirt" she said with a grin.
She took Sarah Jane by the hand, guiding her to one of the beds, assuming she will either let go of Alec's hand or he will follow. Sitting her down gently by pressing down on her shoulders she took Sarah's chin and tilted it up towards the light gently so she could have a closer look. She heard Robin's voice from the doorway as she inspected the eyes more closely.
"The hair sockets of her eyelashes got open when she pulled the tape off too roughly, it's causing blood to drip into her eyes. I'm going to heal them because they're prone to infection. And the last we want is for her to get an eye infection on top of all the inflammation. I've never healed eyes in specific, but I'm going to do my best. Her cornea is starting to clear up, luckily."
She finally turned her eyes to Robin, just for a brief moment before she turned back to the woman in front of her again.
"I'm going to heal her and then assess the damage, I can't really say from here. I.. I need some help though, healing that.. man" She nodded towards the Doctor "Drained most of my energy. I don't want to pass out. I need someone to tap energy from, or I'm afraid I'm going to start tapping from the TARDIS itself.. and we know how that can go Robin"

She is easily lead, and lays down the the bed, glad to be in it. It was turning out to be quite a day. For one moment, hearing that Sisilaya has worn herself out, she feels foolish for her stunt. But no. If she'd saved even one from the Trolley, it had been worth it, and she dare say there had been more. Right now however, she regretted putting a strain on this woman she didn't know. And who traveled with the Meddler. She was starting to run a tab with these folks, and none of them would be her first choice of allies. And right now, the Doctor didn't sound entirely in his right mind.
"Sisilaya, I'm sorry." She said simply.

The Meddler shrugged. "If you're that tapped out, Sisi, we could just put her under and let the surgical looms rebuild her eyes."
He strolled over and peered at Sarah over his niece's shoulder. He wasn't a doctor, but one tends to pick things up over time. And he'd had plenty of time. Her eyes looked bad, true, but the medical displays were promising.
"Doesn't even look like the Infirmary would have to take everything out, first." A shrug. "Although unweaving and reweaving the whole organ is usually faster than repairing trauma to the organ."
He tapped the display rapidly, getting an estimate, utterly oblivious to the looks he was getting. "Yeah. It would take about an hour."

"No. No no. I"m feeling much better. Really. No thank you."
She answered in haste to the Meddler's idea. His idea bordered on the super gruesome. That was it. She'd had enough. She waved a hand in front of her face to make sure no one is coming near her with anything designed to remove her eyes.
"Doctor?!" She called out to the only one in the room she trusted, suddenly feeling quite vulnerable in her state, the Meddler was bonkers. "Doctor where are you?"

"She has more flair then you do when you flirt," Sisi told him, grinning.
He knew she didn't mean it rudely, but he dropped his gaze to his feet all the same. It wasn't his fault he wasn't a very social person. He hadn't been since his family had been killed in arsonage.
Without another word, he was inside his Tardis, ready to leave. No reason to stay anymore...
(If anyone wants to interact with him, he's in the process leaving but not gone yet. If not, consider him gone.)

She glanced back Robin, a small smirk on her face. Shaking her head while chuckling softly she placed a hand on Sarah Jane's shoulder again, urging her to calm down.
"No need to be nervous, I'll heal you myself, it won't hurt a bit."
She glanced after Alec annoyed as he left, the woman in front of her was half blind, in pain and needed him the most now and he decided to leave because of one little teasing remark. She couldn't believe it, from a Time Lord no less. She turned to Robin.
"I don't want to scare her any more then necessary, my healing will probably be less.. straining then that of the infirmary if not a lot faster. I just need a bit Robin since he decided to leave, not much. She can get an eye infection if those wounds stay open."
She was going to bat her eyes if she had to.

"No. No no. I"m feeling much better. Really. No thank you," Sarah insisted, growing agitated. "Doctor?!" she called, sounding almost as if she were in a panic. "Doctor where are you?"
Sisi gave him an annoyed grin, and tried to soothe Sarah. She glanced after Alec. "I don't want to scare her any more then necessary, my healing will probably be less.. straining then that of the infirmary if not a lot faster. I just need a bit Robin since he decided to leave, not much. She can get an eye infection if those wounds stay open."
"But.." the Meddler said, sounding genuinely confused. "But what did I do? It's a perfectly safe medical procedure - the Infirmary isn't all that sophisticated, but it can handle something as fundamental as reweaving a damaged organ."
Sisi gave him a pointed look, one which managed to penetrate the self-absorption he wore like armor. He backed away, slowly. "Right, right, I'll... I'll just go and talk to Alec." Shoulders slumped, he stopped in the doorway. "I don't know what I did to upset you Sarah, but I'm sorry."
With that, he headed after Alec.
Alec was just entering his TARDIS when the Meddler caught up with him. "Alec! Hang on! We still need to decide what we're going to do about the atomics!"

"Alec! Hang on! We still need to decide what we're going to do about the atomics!" The Meddler followed him into the Tardis.
"Pfft, I'm bolting." he said, not even looking away from the console.
"By all rights, I haven't met you yet. I don't owe you anything. I mean, it's not like I'm a favorite with this particular crowd, either."

"Alec, wait!" Keeping her eyes shut and moving by both sound and bumping into things, she heads towards Alec blindly.. "Wait. Take me out of here." She reaches toward him, even as she is making a little gesture of peace making towards the Red woman, the Healer Sisilaya in the opposite direction
"Thanks, I'm going to be alright. Don't worry. Scramble up time and deal with the Atomics. I can't help you." She is still making her way to Alec's TARDIS. "I've got to go deal with the Angels. Take care of the Doctor, please." She was leaving him in a den of thieves, but she would only slow him down and make him vulnerable if she stayed near.
"Alec please, will you take me on your TARDIS?"

"Alec, wait!" The Timelord's brain wasn't registering hoW this was happening. People who you tried to kill multiple times didn't usually want you to stay and/or come with you. Maybe Sarah was more forgiving, or she she would ask to come along and make the whole deal a method of payback. Who knew?
"I've got to go deal with the Angels. Take care of the Doctor, please." He heard her say.
"Alec please, will you take me on your TARDIS?"
"Um... I guess so, yes." he answered.

"Pfft, I'm bolting." he said, not even looking away from the console. "By all rights, I haven't met you yet. I don't owe you anything. I mean, it's not like I'm a favorite with this particular crowd, either."
"First of all," the Meddler said, reasonably, "You really can't. Not easily, anyway. We're a nested spacetime configuration right now. If you set the coordinates wrong when you try to dematerialize, you could trap us all in a recursive n-dimensional p-brane."
He leaned against the 4-space interface of Alec's TARDIS. "Second, I doubt your TARDIS is fully charged. That could give you serious problems with the dematerialization sequence, which gets us back to problem one."
"Third," he was ticking points off on his fingers now, "there is still the problem of the Angels out there. I've never really gauged your interest in this little planet, except for knowing that you helped Adagio put it back, so I won't appeal to your good nature and love of humanity. Instead, I'll point out that using atomics against the Angels, unless they're about to use a spectacularly big bomb, all they're going to do is feed them enough energy to breed."
"Alec please, will you take me on your TARDIS?" Sarah called. The Meddler looked at her, with her swollen and blood-stained eyes barely able to open, and smiled.
"Fourth," he added, "the pretty young lady with the eye problems is playing the damsel in distress card. And how could you possibly disappoint her by letting her planet get eaten?"

"First of all," the Meddler said, Alec twisted his neck a bit, "You really can't. Not easily, anyway. We're a nested spacetime configuration right now. If you set the coordinates wrong when you try to dematerialize, you could trap us all in a recursive n-dimensional p-brane."
Alec was going to let him keep talking. "Second, I doubt your TARDIS is fully charged. That could give you serious problems with the dematerialization sequence, which gets us back to problem one."
Alec frowned, but said nothing.
"Third, there is still the problem of the Angels out there.
Alec wasn't sure what the first part of his shpiel was about, but the last part was dead clear. He knew what he had to do. "Fourth," the Meddler finished, "the pretty young lady with the eye problems is playing the damsel in distress card. And how could you possibly disappoint her by letting her planet get eaten?"
Alec bit his lip hard enough to draw a little blood, to his dismay. "Okay," he said, "Here's my assessment. If we let the bombs hit, then they just get stronger. We move the bombs, somewhere else gets blown to pieces. So only one logical step is left." he proposed quietly.
"I will gravitise the atomics and take them to space where they can't hurt anyone. Meanwhile, you materialize around each angel, leaving it under the never ending watch of your Tardis. You'll have a set." he noted the enjoyment he had derived from just one.
"I'm willing to risk being caught in the explosion." he admitted softly.

It became quickly apparent that Alec's TARDIS wasn't going anywhere fast. She had so wanted to get away from these people she could not see and did not trust. She didn't trust Alec either, but at least he didn't pull his punches. Alec meant it when he hurt you and you could generally see it coming.
With the Meddler and even Sisilaya, Sarah Jane worried they'd do something awful just because they didn't know any better.
Alec was not human, but he was a bit squeamish, and that suited Sarah Jane just fine.
With a tightly controlled sigh, she found her way back into the chair she'd been in before. From her bag she took a second scarf. This was was perfectly clean and the color of blood. She tied it around her eyes, and settled in to keep an ear on the Doctor.
Damsel in distress indeed. She ground her molars a moment for that comment stung with it's accuracy at the moment.
