Canon/Original (Both? Giving a background to something that wasn't!)
Name: Gabriel
Age: 728 Terran Standard Years (Very young for his race.)
Species: Weeping Angel
Planet of Origin: Unknown
Occupation: Assassin. No, literally. Why not make a buck doing what you're biologically compelled to?
Physical Description: Androgynous humanoid figure of ashen hue all over. Wavy hair that is often pulled back loosely, and an aesthetically classical figure draped in a simple, loosely fitting gown. Bird-like wings, about a 3 meter span. Identifying marks: Two star-burst pockmarks in the left fore-shoulder, several thin scrapes, and a graze along the left cheek are the only signs of wear on an otherwise flawless "statue".
Personality: A bit eccentric for the generally aloof "Lonely Assassins", Gabe simply ADORES company. Unfortunately, finding suitable companions, given his "condition", is no easy trick. He spends a lot of time around the blind, or drawing the energy from the light sources in enclosed spaces, just so he can have a chat. This uncommonly sociable attitude doesn't eclipse his sociopathic nature though.
He's been known to drop the odd being back in time to settle arguments, get his way, or just for a laugh. Another disturbing past time is the taking of new voices, via the reanimated consciousness of slaughtered victims, when he gets bored of the old ones. He enjoys lurking in dark places, where he is least likely to be visually observed, and which are advantageous to the sort of mean-spirited pranks he likes to play.
History: Gabriel never fit in. Other Weeping Angels could function perfectly in hunting packs, or even armies of their fellows, content to shield their faces from one another for eternity. The further Gabe could get from these swarms, the happier. Perhaps it came from gestating in the mind of a sentient being and erupting into a vast and complex universe generally disregarded by the Ancient Ones as anything but a hunting ground.
Being quantum locked and transported millions of light years away from anything resembling another Angel by his expired host's crew members might have influenced things, too. It was many hundred years before Gabe had any sign of his species, and his first attempt at team work turned out pretty poorly.
He ended up stuck in a bloody basement for decades, until humans came and demolished the dilapidated house containing himself and his three cohorts. The construction crew removed the four oddly-placed statues individually, unwittingly abetting their eventual escape.
After that fiasco, Gabriel struck out on his own again, preferring the arduously won company of lesser races to his kind. He has occasionally hired himself out as a professional assassin, more for the thrill of the hunt than the money it makes him. The pursuit of particularly difficult and dangerous prey, combined with his use of absolute darkness to aid his hunting, has allowed for a certain amount of damage to come to his unlocked form, including bullet wounds, knife cuts, and laser scoring.
The name "Gabriel" was one he gained on Earth, given by a child who, for a time, believed him a benevolent "imaginary" friend. Professionally, he is generally simply known as "The Angel", being the only of his kind out for hire.
