Character background and other important information: Lived in New York for most of his life. He supported prohibition and women's rights. Then, one day in 1918, he saw Clara setting up a business in investigation. At the time, he was still living off of his family's wealth, but he decided to ask for a job. After several years, they became quite close. When Clara regenerated for the first time and revealed herself to not being human, he left, feeling a bit betrayed and trying to figure out what he was going to do next. But, later, he came back to her, because he realized that he couldn't live without her, regardless of what species she was. In order to help her start over, he asked her if she would share his name. They are now engaged.
His mother's side of the family has a history of slightly telepathic people, and he has inherited that ability, so he can talk with people who also have telepathic abilities.
