This is just me, the player of Breck Haines, the 8th Doctor and Blackbeard. It just occured to me what other character needed to be here! 
Canon/Original: Canon, I suppose
Name: Frobisher
Age: Um...mid-30's?
Species: Whiffledill
Planet of Origin: Unknown (or undisclosed)
Occupation: He started out as a private investigator but as soon as he caught wind of the Doctor he decided a better route might be as a bounty hunter. Soon after though he found simply traveling in the TARDIS was exciting enough so now he's just a Companion.
Physical Description: Frobisher is a shape-changer and his natural form is an almost feature-less yellowish humanoid with glasses (said glasses disappear when he changes!) but he found the form of a penguin much more to his liking so that's how he remains (It's for personal reasons). (He has, however, taken the shapes of different penguin species.) While he can assume other forms he doesn't really care to. In fact in some occasions he wasn't able to because of a disease he had caught. I guess it's because of the energy involved. He's lazy! He has however, changed into forms such as a hang glider when real danger was threatening but it has to be a no-other-options thing.
Personality: Frobisher can be a bit of a smart mouth but he's more of an easy-going kind of guy. He's more likely to joke about a situation than fight in one.
History: He was once married to another Whiffledill (name of Francine) but she left him because she was the better detective. (Perhaps this is why he gave up that profession to travel with the Doctor?) He had grown disillusioned with the whole detective bit and didn't care to spend all his life chasing after such minor jobs as cheating spouses.
