...I'll leave that decision to you.
He nodded. "The only place I know of is a little shop that makes sandwiches. I go there every day for lunch," he said, smiling apologetically. "It's not exciting or fancy, but it is decent food." His friendliness halted when they entered the street. Blue stared down at the sidewalk in front of him, his shoulders tight and nervous. He began to squeeze his hands into fist like he usually did, only stopping when he realized that their hands were still together.
...I want to say I've seen cats eat better than humans in some places, but I'm not sure if that's really true.
That did make him crack a smile, but he didn't respond until they were closer to the sandwich shop. "You probably have. People like to spoil their pets here. I'm not sure how it is elsewhere," he nodded up to the sky, "so I don't know if perhaps there's a place worshipping cats out there or not. I've never travelled very far. Well, at all, really." He smiled sheepishly and pushed open the door to the sandwich shop for her.
He sat down at a table near the entrance and grinned at her across the table. "But I take it that you're quite the extensive traveller," he said lamely, more as a hope that it'd spark a memory. It certainly wasn't a question; with a machine like that, it was pretty obvious that she wasn't a casual traveller.
"Blue!"
His friendly expression faded and he looked vacantly at the woman rushing up to him. She was a kindly old lady with a notepad in her left hand and a menu in her right. "Lucille," he smiled politely.
She grinned widely at the woman. "Blue's never brought anyone else. Not a very sociable person, is he? Who are you? Red? Yellow?" she laughed, handing her a menu. She glanced at Blue. "You want what you usually have?"
He nodded wordlessly, bringing his legs up into the seat and hugging his knees tightly against his chest.

The woman allowed Blue to lead her, seemingly entirely unbothered by his suggestion that this was just an ordinary, unexciting place. The locals NEVER thought they were exciting. Everything about this world screamed new to her, she was quite sure in spite of the amnesia that she had never walked on roads like these, or seen buildings like these... however dirty either may be. She expected wooden boardwalks or high-tech sleek steel and glass, not asphalt and brick.
His comment on worshipping cats made her think of sand and heat, and giant stone statues of cats both domestic and wild... but no names or details came to her.
She sat opposite him in the small cafe, rather fascinated by how quiet it was at this time of night, "Yes." she answered, when he asked about travel, "Though I've never been anywhere quite like this before."
When the woman made a joke about colours, she took it quiet seriously, "If I had to pick a colour, I'd say Silver." she replied in a friendly and joking way.
But then she noticed the way Blue reacted to the other woman's presense, and frowned, a silent question, what was wrong?

I've never been anywere quite like this before.
"Boring and uneventful?" he supplied, a smile tugging on his lips. "If I could travel somewhere it'd be far away from here," he grinned. He couldn't travel, so he didn't think about it most of the time.
...I'd say Silver.
"Well okay then, Silver," Lucille laughed. "I'll be back to take your order soon.
Blue watched the woman until she disappeared into the kitchen. He was ready to pick the conversation back up when he noticed the expression on her face. "I..." he trailed off and shrugged, unable to express in words what was wrong. "I'll tell you all about myself when you can tell me about yourself."
Didn't that sound obnoxiously mysterious?
"You remind me of one of my pre-" he stopped short of saying 'previous owners' again, and just smiled in lieu of the rest of the sentence. "Well, he wasn't an amnesiac traveller. But he was excited about everything, as though he were. He was the only human I was ever very fond of," he said, offering a smile to her.

"Keeping secrets, are we?" she asked, smiling as if secrets made things more fun. "I understand. For all I know, I could be a villainous brigand on the run from the Atraxi police for murdering a bunch of handsome boys like you... but I doubt it." She didn't wait for an answer before adding the far more likely scenario, "I'm sure I'm really a very civilised creature, and this is probably just Regeneration sickness." Fully expecting blank confusion she continued her explanation without pausing for breath, "That's like... the chicken-pox, except not contagious, and it can mess with your head a lot more... usually only happens once, and almost everyone gets it at some point."

Keeping secrets are we?
"Just for right now," he grinned. "Nothing against you, but it's not something I like to share."
He listened with amusement at the variety of scenarios she listed. Handsome boys? His cheeks darkened and he looked down in his lap. He wasn't sure whether to tell her that he was neither handsome nor a male. Nor a female. He was a big bundle of energy. Oh, how fun. He had almost been too lost in his internal reverie to catch the bit about regeneration.
"I've heard something about a species regenerating before," he said quietly, trying to dig back through the files in his brain. A million years of memory made it difficult to locate certain things. "I can't think of it at the moment."
Lucille walked up to the table. "Hello, miss. Did you decide what you wanted yet?" she asked.

She didn't seem at all surprised that he had heard of regenerations... in fact she would probably have been more surprised if he hadn't. It almost managed to be disappointing that he didn't know what race she was, as she herself had forgotten.
Human was a generic term used by a lot of races, for those that looked like they both did right now... most of them didn't even know where it came from, and she certainly didn't know at the moment.
When asked what she wanted, she gave Blue a questioning look, "Any recommendations? I'm willing to try almost anything that hasn't learned how to speak."

Any recommendations?
"I'm a vegetarian myself, but..." he trailed off and sniffed the air. "The chicken salad smells nice," he answered. "I'm vaguely positive that chickens haven't learned how to speak a recognizable language," he said seriously.
Lucille glanced at the woman and then back at Blue. "If you don't like that, I'll have you another sandwich made, okay?" she said kindly, walking back into the kitchen.
Blue frowned, putting his forehead on his knees. "A man with a blue box. Does that ring any bells? I don't remember the name of his kind, although I'm... I've heard it," Blue thumped his forehead with the ball of his hand. "I can't remember."

Blue box... yes, that rang alarm bells in her mind. Infamy didn't cut it, not by a long shot. "The Doctor." she answered automatically, with slight amazement. She was only remembering as she spoke, "That's who you're talking about, isn't it? I... I know him. Had a crush on him at school, actually." she sat back, "Wow, that's... yeah, one of his friends nearly killed me for saying that." she laughed.
She couldn't remember much more of it than that, not even the name of said friend. She did remember more about the Doctor, though.
"He was a rebel. I admired that." she said distantly, with an odd expression that managed to be both a frown of confusion and a smile that something at least was coming back to her. "Oh, it's just my luck I remember HIM, and not myself." she snorted, looking very much like she wanted to slump forward and hit her head on the table... but she refrained from doing so.

The Doctor. That's who you're talking about, isn't it? I... I know him. Had a crush on him at school, actually."
Blue smiled. "That's good. Maybe you can focus on a memory with him and try to expand on it? Maybe try to look at the people around? Colors?" he suggested softly. He wasn't a qualified un-amnesiacian - if there were such a thing, anyway. "Maybe you shouldn't push yourself too much, now that I think about it," he said.
Oh, it's just my luck I remember HIM, and not myself.
He bit his lip, feeling guilty about trying to pressure about remember things. "Don't strain yourself," he suggested warily. "I don't think that will help. It will only make you frustrated, and it will give you a headache," he said. He lifted his hand to give her a pat on the shoulder, but his hand wavered in midair. He frowned and dropped it.
"Here we are!" a voice chirped. "A vegetarian sandwich for you and a chicken salad sandwich for you! I hope you two enjoy," Lucille said, grinning at the two happily.
Blue took the food with a quiet thank you. He gave Lucille a large smile - sure, it was a fake one, but it was at least better than the sullen expression he gave her. He glanced down at his plate. The bread was off to the side, the tomatoes, lettuce, and onion separated. He didn't like the way food tasted together, so Lucille had the chef - her husband - put the items separated on the chef.
He picked up the tomato and bit it, looking happily at the woman across from him. "I love tomatoes," he said. "They're my favorite food. I wonder if they have tomatoes where you come from."

Ooc; Would you guys like me to jump in or are things rolling smoothly? D: I don't want to intrude, but I think this is the thread The Corsair asked me to join.
If I do join, I'll need a summary. I'm lazy... or I could read through it. I'll just read through it. I'm leaving this here so you guys can use it as evidence.
EDIT. Sage, Blue likes tomatoes. Look! Blue likes tomatoes. :D

She frowned slightly at the tomatoes, almost accusingly, for the fact that she could not recall any such foodstuff. "No... never heard of tomatoes." she said carefully. Then an odd thought occurred to her, "Oranges. They're from Earth, right? I've heard of them. And limes... not as nice at all." she added, pulling a face.
She carefully picked up her sandwich, and examined it from several angles, before taking a bite. She liked it, and nodded happily to say as much.
((OOC: We'll let you know when you can join us, Jack... there's one more thing I wanna do with this thread first.))

"No... never heard of tomatoes. Oranges. They're from Earth, right? I've heard of them. And limes... not as nice at all."
Blue grinned around the tomato slice and put it back with the other tomatoes on his plate. "You've missed out on a lot if you've never had a tomato, my friend," he told her solemnly. "And oranges are from Earth, but... I don't like them very much. They're too sticky. And limes are gross, but not as bad as lemons or carrots."
He finished his tomato slices quietly. He didn't need to go to the store that night; he could just feed the stray cat some of the leftovers of his sandwich. He carefully began to put the lettuce on the bread, unsure of whether or not cats could eat onion or not. "When you're done with your sandwich, we can go to my apartment. Unless you need something else?
ooc| d'you want to skip to his apartment..? if so, I can just post again. [/blockquote]

((OOC: Yeah, okay... also, poor cat having to eat lettuce! Lol... I mean, I've known some that will do so, but they usually have it as a snack inbetween their main, more carnivore-friendly, meals.))

His apartment wasn't anything special. A bedroom, a bathroom, a small living room, and a smaller kitchen. He put down the grocery bags on the kitchen table - he had caved and bought some ham from the supermarket for the stray cat - and turned towards the woman. "It isn't much," he said with a small smile, "but it's good enough for me."
He took out the ham and put the meat on the sandwich, walking back out into the hall and placing the sandwich on the ground. Blue walked back inside, biting his lower lip nervously as he looked around the small apartment. He had never expected to have company over, and now that he did realized just how... strange it seemed. At least compared to other homes.
No pictures on the walls, on the table, well.. no pictures anywhere. There was a solitary couch in the living room that faced a small television. The kitchen table was small and rectangular, with a wooden chair under it. He rubbed the back of his neck and looked up at the woman sheepishly. "I'll sleep on the couch," he said, pushing open his bedroom door. "I'll change the sheets," he mumbled.
Once that menial chore was done, he looked at the woman apologetically. "The bathroom is there," he pointed towards it, "if you want to take a shower or something."

Her reaction to being offered the opportunity to shower was to instincitvely check how she smelled, herself, in a rather comical manner. She shook her head rather quickly, "I'm okay." she said bluntly. "And you really didn't have to do that. I'd be just fine sleeping on the floor if needs be." Two true signs that she was very accustomed not only to travel, but to travelling in rough and less-than-comfortable ways.
"I was wondering... are there any places nearby where I could acquire spare parts? My TARDIS seemed to be having some problems with... some important systems... when I left her." Clearly she couldn't recall the names of said important systems.
