Original
Name: Dalek Imelik
Age:About 300, give or take a decade or so
Species:Dalek
Planet of Origin:Skaro
Occupation: Traveler, Student of evolution
Physical Description: Imelik doesn't appear much different from any other Dalek. His actual form is hidden underneath his metallic shell, which is shaped like a large tube, flat on the bottom and narrowing slightly as it goes up, eventually ending in a round top. The sides are covered in symmetrical bumps that go up to just below the suits "chest". From that piece, comes two separate tools, a plunger-like scanner/grasping tool, and an energy ray. Above this, on the "Head" of the suit, is a single telescope-like eye, allowing him to see the world around him.
Imlek himself could be described as a living nightmare. A mass of tendrils connected to a blob-like mass of flesh, with a single large eye in the center. Because of his genetic design, he does not have the ability to move or even survive for long outside of his suit. Suffice it to say, he doesn't do much face to face interaction.
Personality: Unlike many Daleks, Imelik has a very different view point from the rest of his kind. For starters, Imelik does not believe in the "Perfection" of the Daleks. As the saying goes, "Perfection is a dead end". According to that piece of logic, Daleks are not perfect. In fact, since they do not evolve or change in any real way, they are amazingly flawed. this has lead to an odd kind of self-hate towards his species that means he doesn't get along well with them.
Oddly enough, unlike many Daleks, he has no problem coexisting with other species. While his Dalek instincts may tell him to destroy and exterminate other beings on sight, his wrath is reserved mostly for creatures he considers truly flawed. Though his definition of flawed is somewhat unusual. Understand, he is not peaceful. He is peaceful by Dalek[/i] standards. If he believes a species is flawed beyond fixing, he'll see no problem in destroying them outright.
He also possesses a limited group of emotions. They are somewhat underdeveloped compared to many other species, making socialization for him rather tricky.
History: Originally a member of a group sent to eliminate a species known as the Welsla, Imelik was nothing more than your average of Dalek soldier. He was made to fight and destroy all inferior lifeforms, nothing more. However, the universe had other plans for him.
The Welsla were a rather limited species, peaceful and primitive, but possessing a strong empathic connection to each other. Their powers were used to help each other and share feelings, not as a weapon. However, in the face of their Dalek enemies, they were decimated with little resistance. When their last few members were on the brink of destruction, they unleashed all their sorrow and pain as a single mighty blast that encompassed the entire planet. The force created annihilated every sentient thing on the planet, Dalek and Welsla alike. However, there was a single lone survivor.
Imelik barely survived, jumping through time in an attempt save himself. However, he could not escape the blast entirely. His mind was scathed by the psychic assault, but remained intact. His views, however, did not. he found himself questioning his place in the universe, something he wouldn't have believed possible. However, he eventually formed upon a new purpose.
After falling through time, he investigated a nearby ship. After killing all those aboard, he discovered that they had been studying the evolution of their species. Evolution was a concept considered unnecessary amongst Dalek's. However, according to the records, perfection meant stagnation, which meant weakening, which meant flaws, which meant non-perfect. This information caused a conflict within his damaged mind, eventually forming a new purpose. He would understand evolution, and find a way of unlocking its power. From that moment, a new purpose had been given to him. And he planned to follow it.
