Name: The Shepherd Alias Dana Freeman
Age: 830
Species: Time Lady, Chameleon Arced as a Human.
Planet of Origin: Gallifrey
Occupation: Shepherd of Time, Store Clerk.
Physical Description: The Shepherd is a tall, elegant, woman with a thin build. Her skin is normally a little pale, though it does tan easily, and her eyes are a light shade of blue. She keeps her black hair short and practical and she has a habit of wearing bright red lipstick.
As for her clothes, she commonly wears a loose black leather jacket, a blue sleeveless blouse (alternately, a green blouse), and a pair of black jeans, with brown hiking boots. She does tend to change into something more appropriate when she arrives at a different time, but will keep the black and blue color scheme. For formal occasions, she will wear a dark brown evening gown.
Personality: The Shepherd is a serious, duty-driven woman. She has little time for nonsense, and absolutely no sense of humor. She is often condescending, cold, makes no attempt at tact, and has no patience for those she dubs idiots. She prides herself on her self-control, and though she'll make her feeling clear, she won't act on them if there are other priorities.
She refers to the time-line with a reverence that is almost religious. She believe that all of time is a wild, chaotic, beast, that needs to be firmly guided along a set path. And as no other Time Lord seems to get this, she has to do it herself. She will betray her closest friends, she will aid her most despised enemies, she will destroy entire worlds if it means keeping time on the course she has picked for it. If you are caught doing something contrary to the time-line, then you must be stopped, possibly permanently. Ultimately, it dictates her every action. It is her master, and she obeys.
There is a tiny seed of doubt, a festering little thing, a nagging voice inside her head that tells her that she might be wrong. She resists it strongly, perhaps knowing that if she had to look at some of her actions without out the assurance they were justified, it would be overwhelming. This has led to some very irrational behavior. She refuses to apologize for any reason, just saying the words "I'm sorry" is impossible. Under no circumstances must anyone ever try to convince her that her time-line is a mistake, taking the seed of doubt's side is the quickest way to win her enmity.
She does have a softer side, and seems to respond well to people needing her. She seems to need to take care of something, and flesh and blood dependents help distract her from her obsession with controlling time. On the rare occasion she indulges herself, she can be very deeply touched by music, and has a special love for frosted cinnamon rolls and strawberries.
As Dana Freeman, she is a very restless individual, with a nagging feeling that she should be doing something, but no idea what it is. She is happier, however, and even has a dry sense of humor.
History: When the children of Gallifrey are eight years old, they are taken to stare into the time vortex itself. It is terrifying and painful for the children, and the to be Shepherd was no exception. The chaos horrified her, and she claims she would have gone insane if she hadn't been able to make out a single straight path. Perhaps it was only the desperate projection of a young mind, already with a deep love for order, but this idea of a logical and straight time-line consumed her.
In the years before the Time War, she devoted her life to her time-line. She made enemies of course, and any friends she made were soon left behind. When the Time War finally came, she knew without a doubt that it wasn't suppose to to happen. She had a choice to make, she could either risk her life trying to stop it, leaving her time-line in the hands of any survivors, or she could run and live to fight another day. She choose to run.
Eight years later, and Dana Freeman is leading a fairly stable life. She has a job, a dog, and possibly a boyfriend. She is happy, but unsatisfied. She can't help but feel that she is forgetting something, a sensation she has always had. Whether she ever discovers her former life remains to be seen.
Additional medical information She is currently on her third regeneration, and suffers from insomnia.
