7,400 SURVIVORS
IN SEARCH FOR REVENGE
AND THEY REALLY DON'T GIVE A FLYING FRAK ABOUT HOW MANY ENEMIES THEY HAVE
OR WHAT THEIR GODSDAMN PLAN IS
Humanity created the Cylons. Their very own mechanical servants developed for dangerous work and war. It seemed like a good idea. But nobody knew the potential in their creations.
The Cylons evolved. They developed intelligence beyond the wildest dreams of those who built them, and surprise, they didn't think that slavery was such a good thing.
So they rebelled, launching a war that lasted for twelve years, killed millions and and ended in a shaky armistice. But they won their freedom. Happy with that victory, the Cylons retreated beyond the edges of the space controlled by the human colonies, united after the war into one entity. These Twelve Colonies thought that the troubles were over and started to rebuild.
But forty years later, the children of humanity have returned home with a bang. One big enough to instantly kill fifty billion human beings.
In a single massive opening strike, the Cylons disabled the defenses of the Twelve Colonies. They wiped out their military. They destroyed the planets in a nuclear armageddon. And now they are settling in, launching a massive occupation to bring the Colonies under their rule.
But humanity is a tough nut to crack, much less to destroy. Survivors remain. Ones that can fight back. Four ships of the 57th Battlestar Group have returned home to find it completely annihilated. They have nowhere to run to. No fleet of civilians to protect. No society to uphold. No hope for a better future.
They have guns though. And a lot of bullets for them.
That leaves them with one course of action, at the least.
INSURGENCY is an Battlestar Galactica roleplay set in an alternate reality, where things...well, went a bit more wrong, exploring the possibilities of the Colonials not leaving their colonies and fighting back.
The game is heavily oriented towards action and warfare. Want to command a ship? Fly a Viper down the throats of the Cylons? Get into some brutal ground fighting as a marine? If so, this game is for you. Of course, the post-apocalyptic setting is going to leave space for all sorts of emotions if pure death and destruction isn't to your liking.
We hope it is though, since there is going to be a lot of it.
We don't have much demands on you. Follow the rules, be nice, be active enough, and you are set. A passing grasp of the setting is desirable, though if you happen to lack it, I'm sure we can get you up to speed. Seriously though, if you haven't watched Battlestar Galactica, do so. We'll wait.
So, join in. Fight the good fight.
Well, there isn't much good in it. So let's just agree to kick bother.
