Silence and Torchwood (open to torchwood team)

[Simon]

Simon was watching one of the monitors. He had been in the hub for twenty four hours straight, as he had wanted to work for most of the night. As he watched the monitor, he saw something on the monitor. It was wearing a black suit, but it looked like a grey alien. Simon called out "Jack? There is something on the monitor. Its not human." As simon turned his head, he coud not remember what it was he had called jack for. He turned back to the monitor, and there was nothing there.

Jack looked up from the phone book he was studying and walked to his office door, peering down at Simon's station. From this angle, he could see a basket of dirty laundry and several half-full coffee mugs. Ianto hadn't arrived yet, then. By deduction, Jack figured it was early morning or very late at night.

"What is it?" He called down over the railing, his hands caressing the chilled metal banister.

[Simon]

Simon turned to look at Jack. He said "I am sorry. I thought i saw something on the monitor. i mean, its like i saw something but it was gone. I can't even remember if i saw somethingor not." Simon stood up, and said "Has there ever been something like this. Like, someone has thought they saw something, but they could not remember if they had?"

Jack stared at Simon for a long ten seconds, relentlessly racking his brain to find any memory of this happening before. His memory returned nought, so he raised his shoulders and dropped them in a halfhearted shrug.

"I can't remember," he said simply, beginning to turn to go back to his desk. "You can always go back through the security tapes, though. Toshiko had a new security system put in so that only Ianto's fingerprints and my own could unlock the archives."

He walked through his office door, relishing the clipping of his heels as they echoed through the Hub. He loved walking loudly.

Casually, Jack called back over his shoulder. "I'll unlock the video system from my office."

Tosh had decided to go in for a night shift, so that was how she happened to be walking down the street. There was something ahead of her. She blinked and it was gone. Like it wasn't even there in the first place. She shuddered, and had the feeling somebody was watching her. She looked over her shoulder and then ran into Torchwood. "Oh my God, i just saw something outside....but now it's like I've forgotten it! Sorry, it was probably nothing." Tosh said the last part eventually, putting her bag on the floor. "So, anything happening?" she asked, walking over to Simon and looking at the monitor. It didn't seem that anyone was there.

(Yay Toshie)

Odd as it sounds that Owen was out for the night. He was hanging out with the Weevils up close on their territory. Deep down he would have hoped they got sick of him and slash him up. It was something instead being in his flat and do nothing or be terrible bored with Torchwood. His mind needed a change of scene and need a night away from the Hub before he goes mad of boredom.

One of the Weevils scurried out of the tribe. He had gone off to follow to see where it was heading. He stayed a distant to give the Weevil sense it was alone. It knew Owen was following it. It wished it wasn’t the lucky one.

There was something that scared the Weevil and it ran away from what that area and from Owen. Owen missed the thing that can’t be seen. He stopped, noticed it was near the Hub and he was looking through the darkness for that sense of something was there. He can feel it. But it was like not there. It was weird.

Pulling his collar up to protect the winds of the bay, he walked toward to the bay railings. He had no inkling to go in the HUB. If they needed him they can call him up. Or track him down. That black wrist band was the one thing that keeps him checked with Torchwood.

He placed his gloved hands on the railings and watched the horizon. It was beautiful night. He wished he could feel the cold breeze, the smell of the air of the bay. The smelly fish smell he missed that too. But he rather be out and avoid the HUB and the newbies…especially Simon.

Tosh blinked as she saw Owen pass the CCTV cameras, but when she looked away and looked back again, he wasn't there. Tosh decided to go out to him. He seemed to be avoiding them....and her. That's what is seemed like anyhow. She grabbed her jacket and said "I need some fresh air" and exited the building. Tosh walked for a while before spotting him at the railings. When she got close enough, she smiled. "Hey, Owen, how come you didn't come in?" Tosh asked, leaning against the railings beside him. "It seems like you've been avoiding us. So what's wrong?" Tosh asked, her voice gentle. She had a soft spot for Owen, and it sounds like a little crush. It wasn't,really, it was just a soft spot. Tosh was awaiting an answer, because she was worried about Owen.

[Owen Harper]

Owen heard the familiar click of heels on the pavement. Toshiko had a different walk than Gwen. Tosh’s are more subtle than Gwen’s clashing banging heels. Gwen has an authority walk and Tosh was just Tosh. “I needed fresh air,” he replied. It was a lie of course because he can’t breathe.

It seems like you've been avoiding us. So what's wrong?

Owen was silent for a long time. He held his anger in bay. Toshiko had been kind and he had time to meditate of life and its meaning as a dead man. He saw how good and patient she was. He clasped his hands together still staring ahead of him.

It was a good long time. Hopefully, Tosh had understood it. It was the time of being quiet with a friend. Just knowing Tosh was next to him was a comfort for him. There was no body reaction he could do. It drove him mad. He licked his lower lip, turned to look at Toshiko. “Okay I am avoiding you and the team. Look, Tosh I am seeing things different. And I am writing a book on it,” he admitted to her. “It’s about life and regretting the smallest details. It’s my last contribution before I hit the final death.”

[Toshiko Sato]

Tosh waited patiently. She knew, or imagined, how hard it must be for him, so she knew when he was ready, he would confess. She looked at the horizon, thinking how beautiful it was. When she had looked at it for a few moments Owen spoke. She looked at him as she heard him begin. She listened until he had finished.
"Oh Owen..." Tosh said. She looked at him carefully. "It doesn't mean you have to avoid us, doing that just makes me worried about you." Tosh told him,and then she gently put her hands on top of his clasped ones, in a way of comfort. "I don't know for sure, but I think the team are worried about you too." Tosh added, gently.

Ooc; Let us all pause as we allow Simon to respond,

[Simon]

Simon checked through the security tapes, and as he looked through the one of the last few minutes, he saw that creature again. As he turned around, he forgot it again. He turned off the video system, and he walked to Jack's office. He said “I think I saw it again. It was at the 25:55 mark of the tape. I just can't remember.” He turned, and he looked up. In one of the rafters, the alien was there! Simon turned back, but he forgot again. He quickly looked again, but it was gone again. He said “I keep seeing it, but I keep forgetting everytime I look away.”

Ooc; Simon wouldn't actually know he's forgotten
anything. Jack would hear him exclaim and then
tip him off that something's wrong. We'll keep
rolling with this, though. Just to keep things
moving forward and whatnot.

Jack briefly acknowledged the arrival of Toshiko and, from his view of the security monitors in his office, the presence of Owen outside. They were in extremely early - or, well, late - but he couldn't exactly complain. They needed all the help they could get, especially if they Hub had been infiltrated.

Looking up from his paperwork, he listened to Simon, blinking in confusion. He'd never heard of an alien that made you forget it as soon as you looked away. Hopefully, his years of psychic training at the Time Agency would allow him to gain control over the situation.

"Tell the others that they can either come inside or stay out there," he said, going into his serious business mode. "Use their intercoms, they should have them on them. Afterwards, grab weapons and put them over by the coffee machine. As for me, I'll start the lock down and call Ianto and the others."

He paused, looking around his office and the corridor outside quickly. His eyes picked up a suited gray monster momentarily, before flicking away, no trace left behind except for a tensing of his mouth muscles.

"Go," he muttered, finally. "We can't let them escape."

[Simon]

Simon nodded, rushing out of the office. He said into his intercom “Tosh, Owen, we need you to come in. Jack is initiating the lock down. Meet me at the coffee station.” He then ran over to the weapon store, and got the guns, and ran back to the coffee station, putting the guns by there. As he turned around, he saw the creature. He shouted “Jack! Theres an alien here!” As he turned his head, it was like the last few seconds were gone. He looked back, but there was nothing there. Simon had no idea what it was that made him shout.

Owen turned to look at Toshiko as Simon called them to be in the HUB. “Yea tell that to Simon,” he said, pushing away from the railing. “I don’t even have life to call mine,” he said bitterly under his breath.

“Simon, we are on way in,” he said, quickly. He waited for Toshiko to move with him. “You know you got to worry for yourself at times, Toshiko,” he said giving her a small smile. Owen will follow Tosh lead into the Hub in case any Weevils decide to appear out of the shadows.
