Dear Everyone, I often find myself fishing around for people's character profiles. The submissions that were accepted when we created our characters are not always easy to find. Certainly not as a rule, and surely some people have other ideas for what they want to be designated their "Web Site" on their member profiles, but for those who have nothing else to do with it, please consider posting a link to you character description if you don't mind. I've done it to my member profile here. whoniverse-rp.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=viewprofile&user=sarahjayneAs you will folks, but it sure would be convenient. Sincerely, -SJ

If signatures didn't have such strict limitations, everyone could put the links there. I do that... or, well, I think I do that. I can't remember.
I'm strapped for time at the moment, but I'll edit this with the links some time in the future.

Not on the Signature. You're right, it's too limited.
In the member profile. There is a place for "website". If you go to "Modify profile", and look under "Personal information" right under "Location" are the options "Website Name" And "Website URL"
I've copied and pasted the URL for my character submission into "Website URL" and called it "Sarah Jane's Profile."
Now it shows up on my member profile page.

I did that too, I am more used to doing like, the make the image into your link thing. Theres some kind of code to do that in the signature so that the picture is the link to your profile.

I'm not describing this very well. I'm not talking about a new thread. I'm talking about first, about your character submission. The one you filled out, the one Captain Jack filled out, your submission which is now filed in "accepted applications". Here is the link to Jack's Character Submission for examples. whoniverse-rp.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=mutatedhumans&action=display&thread=4023&page=1And the link to Archetype's Character Submission whoniverse-rp.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=mutatedhumans&action=display&thread=3252Now find the page that has your Character Submission, and copy it's URL.
I would be interested in people adding this link to their Member Profile. To find your Member profile, first sign in, then look up at the top row where it says "Home, New Topics, Help, Search, Members, Calendar, Profile and Logout" Click the "Profile" button in that top row. This is your member profile. Now hit "Modify Profile" up there next to "Bookmarks" Scroll down to "Personal Information" "Web Site URL" Paste the URL from your Character Submission there. In "Web Site Name" put a name for it there. I have called mine "Sarah Jane's Profile" You can see it here. whoniverse-rp.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=viewprofileThanks, my friends, for noticing this idea : ) I hope it catches on. I've looked in the "Members" list, and almost no one is using their "Website URL" option yet. Last one in is a Judoon! : )

I just put mine in the signature. I considered making my banner the link, but I've got two different characters in a single banner.

Interesting.
I've just noticed that, as The Master, I don't have an actual character submission. I just adopted the character, and assumed everyone knew who The Master is.
Or, more precisely, I think I assumed that people who don't know who The Master is will learn.
