Dear Everyone I've become envious of the Time Lord school. I think there are a lot of role play opportunities. Archetype Mark 2 is going to need a special school. I was imagining a school for particularly gifted youths. I want it to be a cross between Montessori and Xavier's school for gifted children. These can be very unusual young people, perhaps referred to this place by Unit or Torchwood when they stumble across candidates. We couldn't go so far as to have X men like mutants, but certainly there are possibilities for creative characters. I can't quite imagine the shape of it yet, but I'm tossing out this idea. Please feel free to respond about this idea or to toss out your own. I'm looking for any ideas that would be exciting to write about, and invite in a bunch of people who otherwise wouldn't fit quite in the Adventures fiction. These folks wouldn't even really have to be Adventures fans, just familiar with the Whoniverse in general. I don't imagine there being much classroom time. Perhaps there will be a hint of Hogwarts in the way they all stay there and run wild at night. It would be about the relationships outside of the classroom. If Sarah Jane makes an appearance as a teacher, it will be as a special guest or substitute. I'd rather just have Sarah Jane on tap to come haul everyone out of the fire when it all goes to hell. ((OOC- I'm just tucking this link here for myself for a moment. blog.soliant.com/careers-in-healthcare/11-steps-to-becoming-a-space-surgeon/))

I haven't seen much of Daniel or Simon around here. The Archetype Mark Two shall just go off to highschool like Luke did...Oh how fun that'll be, what mischief can I hunt down I wonder.....lol Well anyway, I do like the prospect of random night adventures with teenage powerful people, sounds fun. Sarah Jane would make a great teacher, assuming she has the patience for a class full of strange, possibly mischievous kids/aliens. We can be all "Oh something odd lets look." and find huge alien stuff and...thats all I got, maybe some time traveling along the way. Stocked on this. This is my random input on things since my friend is now playing on the Xbox and this sounds interesting. Sincerely A2

Today I was thinking that because you're all so special, you'd get to do special stuff, and things go wrong.
Like you get to be inside a rocket while they're testing the engines and they wind up having to put you all into space to save your lives. Good luck kiddies! Having fun yet?

I'm sure I could come up with a teenager or two for this. I've also got a few characters that could work as faculty for the school - Augustus Majestic or (if approved) Doctor Who. The Meddler might be qualified to teach there, but I think that could result in its own thread...

I teach sometimes in my real life, so I don't want to play a teacher here. However, I'm now thinking of creating a second character that would be both the curriculum that pops up on the giant computer screen in the morning to tell them what the study/adventure of the day will be, combined with a force that then creates the destruction that sends you all to your doom. Not the same character. Not really a character at all, the entity of what we all call Fate. I would not be playing a double agent, I just don't want to bother making three characters.
Like Tyra Banks.
As I write this, I'm having visions of Tyra Banks in America's next top model. Really, it's not a bad model for what the surroundings and tone might be. Somewhere on the magic ground between the Sarah Jane Adventures, America's next top Model, and Survivor.
If school were more like a reality survivor television show, who wouldn't love it? How better to entice kids to strive?
I assume the Meddler will be creating disaster as well, innocently or deliberately. Nice to see everyone coming on board.
This would be a great place for misfits like Dalek Imiliek when he starts role playing. He could be toted around by someone as a computer link hook up, visual, audio, speakers, all that. I'm going to try to entice him in. Look around for people to invite if you have the time!

Ooh, forgot about this. Could three little Thyrolian's join this school? It sounds like it'll be fun from what Sarah Jane has suggested.

Okay everyone, it looks like we're getting enough people to start this. I may take a few more days to solidify in my mind where to begin.
As for Thyrolians, that sounds fine with me. Can you please put a link with any information you've got about this particular species? Is there a Character profile somewhere?
I had not planned for this thread to be in the guest role play area, so you would need to have this triple-character provisionally approved by First.
However, I am open to the idea of doing it on the Guest Role play thread if that is what people are hoping for. What do you all say?
Also, feel free to post links and videos to what you think your killer pad should look like, if you wish. And any ideas on where you wish to go. Brainstorm here. My first thought however is to a private Space Program company to go experience (in some way I have not yet figured out) something with their experimental space ship. I'm sure there can only be disaster from there.

Can the General be a teacher? I've just always wanted to make the General a teacher, but sometimes taking people in the TARDIS, like the Magic School Bus.

I used to be an assistant student teacher [... :l] and I'm still a tutor, so I'd be willing to be a teacher. As to which of my characters would do that... I dunno. Probably either Susan or Blue. :D

I'm not familiar with that show. How does it work?
