John wandered around Cardiff. He was bored with bars, bored with getting pissed every night and shagging someone nameless before waking up to another boring day of alcohol and debauchery. He wanted to do something. He wanted to cause trouble, to shake things up.
If he was stuck in this bloody boring city than he would have some fun. Oh, he had no intention of blowing up the town again. Been there, done that, bought the t-shirt and is now using it as a dust-rag. He just wanted to shake things up a bit.
First, though, to get the attention of the man in charge or at least the attention of one of his lovelies who could take him to Jack.
He sauntered down to the bay, broad daylight, full Napoleonic jacket and sword ensemble. John couldn’t help but smirk at the odd looks people cast his direction as he knew very well he stood out. He would randomly cat call at strolling couples and hit on them. He had no pride.
His pride died the day Jack dismissed him like he was something the cat coughed up.
Why didn’t Jack need him to help out in Torchwood? Why? Wasn’t he good enough? Didn’t he have the same future knowledge Jack had? You’d think he would appreciate having someone like him around, someone willing to go to the seedy, low places to get information.
Well, he would go and get information. He had information. Information the likes that will shake this down deeper than the bombs he set off.
Something was coming. Something that was messing with the Rift and, obvious to him, his Vortex Manipulator.
He found a nice open place before that tall water tower and stood there looking pretty. John figured he’d stand there for a bit until someone noticed. If that didn’t work, he would start pegging stones at the tower and scream Jack’s name until he had no choice but to open up.

CCTV Owen caught the familiar rogue at the water fountain. Rolling his eyes, why had he had to working at Torchwood this day? He had decided to stay at Torchwood because he was afraid to be at his nest because the condition he was in.
Deciding he watched the man on the screen, the medical doctor was not planning to run with guns blazing on the man outside because he actually feared for his dear life if you can call that. It was safe in Torchwood. That was Jack’s man from the past.
Taking his mobile phone, he text message the team, “John Hart water fountain,” was the message he sent. He quickly added, “waiting not going solo.”

Ooc; What condition is Owen in? Is he dead in this roleplay? Just making sure.
And I don't want to post before Gwen, so I'll still be waiting. In the meantime, let's pretend that Jack is having some quality, ah, alone time with his lovely Welsh boy, Ianto. His phone is currently on silent, because he doesn't want to interrupt Ianto's, ah, childhood story... about ponies.
(NOTE: Assume this is from Jack. My computer switched accounts by itself again.)

Gwen had been late to get to the bay, in fact she'd had a long night talking and discussing things with Rhys, which had wound up leaving her to fall asleep late the night before, or more so in the early morning. Running late, she'd had to still take her time to look presentable and to eat a good breakfast before heading out.
It was never a boring day in Torchwood Three, and this was because it couldn't be with alien threats of all different sorts be it minor or not. There was also the whole issue with the Rift. It was always an interesting thing to try to monitor the conditions and keep the city of Cardiff, and in turn keep the world safe.
Dropped off not too far from the bay, Gwen kissed Rhys goodbye and said she'd call him to let him know when she'd be home, and to keep in touch so he wouldn't worry.
When she walked towards the water tower she stopped and stared at the fact that a familiar figure was up ahead. It was Captain John Hart, a crazy man that had relations to Jack, and had once poisoned her and injured her friends and co-workers.
"What are you doing here?" She inquired with a cautious tone, her mobile phone was slowly slipped out of her pocket and she was going to text her boss, seeing as he hadn't come out yet to deal with John. She was certain that someone had spotted him on the CCTV by now.
((ooc: Sorry for lack of length. And I'm just sort of assuming this is some time before Children of Earth and after season Two.))

Growling under his breath, Owen did not like seeing Gwen being along with Captain John Hart. He could not sit there and watch as Gwen fall in trouble as Owen was sitting safely in the Hub. Remembering the pain in the side of his waist where John shot Owen when Tosh and Owen was getting the capsule that John Hart needed for his scam.
Grabbing his pistol from his desk drawer, he quickly threw a clip in, cursing he was planning to blast John’s head off the rogue’s shoulders. He quickly stole another gun off Tosh’s desk. He was capable using two guns in each hand. Captain Jack Harkness trained them and was sure they knew how to arm themselves. Jack had always said this was the 21st Century and we have to be ready. Yea, they are ready but not ready to deal with Jack’s secret past characters.
After getting geared up, Owen quickly stepped on the invisible lift. “Come on!” he felt it was going to slow. It was the effects of things seem too move slow when you are on a rush. Running toward John and Gwen was, Owen skidded on the ground and aiming the two guns at John. “Please do move so I can shoot you!” The man said angrily at John. Owen felt his own heart beating against his chest. So he was alive in this time.

Ooc; This is going to suck so much, I just know it! There was a reason for me putting up an absence note, see. I'm under a lot of stress from school at the moment. I'm hoping that posting will relieve a bit of pressure.
I'm sorry if this turns out to be one of the worst posts you've ever read.
Also, due to Owen being alive, I'm going to guess that this is set some time during the beginning of season two, but after the first few episodes c:
Jack blinked sleepily at the phone vibrating in front of him. Papers scattered across the desk as the device did a strange little dance. If it was already at this strength, it must have been going for a while.
I must have fallen asleep, Jack thought groggily, picking up the phone and checking to see the alert. Owen had messaged him and it looked quite important. Oh, he probably wants my opinion on his hair or some nonsense.
Flipping the phone open, Jack stood and began walking out to the main area of the Hub. He had no idea where Ianto had disappeared too, though he knew the Welshman would be grumpy. Had Jack fallen asleep during something important? He couldn't quite remembered. He knew Ianto had been speaking. Perhaps about a childhood adventure? Had he been giving Jack a lecture about hygiene? Or... were they doing something else?
"Oh no," Jack read the message again.
John. His old "friend", John. He had returned. This was anything but good news, especially after their last little encounter, where John had threatened to have Gwen blown to smithereens.
"OWEN?" The captain's voice bounced up through the ceiling of the Hub, resonating back again and again. "Owen, where are y--"
Jack stopped at the monitors and gazed forlornly at the scene happening below. Owen and Gwen had confronted John. Owen held two guns confidently in front of him, threatening the older man blatantly. Oh, Owen was a fierce fighter, but he could also be quite an idiot sometimes. Jack tapped his earpiece desperately, trying to see if he could connect with anyone else, but no frequencies were picked up.
"Hang tight," Jack muttered, before jamming an unloaded gun into his waistband and sprinting to the perception filter lift.
It rose slowly, as it did with Owen. Jack tapped his foot impatiently, looking at the time on his vortex manipulator, even though the trip only took about forty seconds.
When he arrived at the surface, Jack was assaulted by a cold breeze and the harsh shine of the sun bouncing up at him from the concrete. It wasn't hot weather, but it wasn't raining either, which was a nice surprise. He hadn't realized that weather's temperament had changed since he'd last left the Hub two days ago.
He assessed the situation with his eyes, figuring that it would be safer to stay invisible for the time being. If John made a move to shoot Owen, Jack was only four paces away. He could block the bullet easily. Besides, if he stepped out now, John would only flirt with him.

How things had changed since he was last here. Mostly the weather, it was colder and even though he loved his outfit, he was wishing he had something warmer on. He hated the cold and hated being wet, luckily it wasn’t wet weather or else he would be in an even worse mood then he was at the moment. This was the last place he wanted to be. However, he felt like he owed his former partner after what happened last time he was here. And with what he knew was coming, it would be more than enough to pay off any debt he owed Jack. John bent over and picked up a rock and had tossed it up in the hand, catching it just as he heard Gwen’s voice.
He turned slowly to look at the dark hair beauty and offered a smile. Unlike last time, John had a bit of stubble going on. Not having shaved in the last two days but everything was the same well outside looking a little weary for the wear. ”Well, well isn’t the bleeding heart beauty.” He said in his normal flirting tone, unable to really help himself but before he could say anything, he noticed the idiot running over and armed with two guns. A shake of his head was given and sighs deeply.
All he had come here for was to warn Jack about what was coming that could do more damage then he could ever do. ”Geez… I show up looking to do something nice and this is the kind of treatment I get? Hasn’t Jack taught you anything about being friendly and not scaring off those who help pr at least how to relax and have some fun? No wonder this planet is always under attack.”
John rolled his eyes at Owen’s words as he growled under his breath so no one could hear him. All of this was starting to piss him off and pushing him towards that edge that would make him take their lives. The rock was thrown at the tower and there was a loud noise that rang out as the rock pinged off the side of it.
Didn’t these people understand how dangerous he was and how quickly he could take them out if he wanted. Sure he might get hit but he had on him a poison tucked away in a breakable shell that would kill them within minutes without harming him. It was just one of the things he could do. Sure he might get shot but he would have them dead before he would be.
”Lower your Rassilon guns now or else I will just leave you all here to deal with what is coming without even knowing about it. And nothing you have can pick it up.” His eyes glanced around slowly but never letting his guard down.
His hands had closed up in fist and it was taking everything he had not to cause trouble at the moment, to strike and make Owen pay for pointing those guns at him. At least Gwen was wise enough and didn’t do anything to provoke him more.
”Jack, I know you are around here hiding somewhere, so show that gorgeous face of yours and take care of this idiot before you are burying him.” John threaten, knowing it would only make matters worse with Owen but it would give him more than enough reason for what he was thinking of doing. He wasn’t sure where Jack was but he could sense him around.

The thought of John knowing something before him intrigued Jack. What could possibly be so dangerous and mysterious that even their own technology didn't pick it up? Jack had the utmost confidence in his team and the gadgets they had gathered over the years. If something were to sneak under their radars, it would be more than a blow to the stomach.
Leisurely, he stepped down from the perception filter and into full view. His face was calm and composed as he made his way to Owen's side.
"Nice to see you again, John," he said, his voice sounding anything but cheerful. "I trust that you mean no harm... just like last time."
In an almost dramatic move, Jack looked off to his side, directly at Owen. His brow furrowed slightly. "Owen, for God's sake, put that gun down before we have citizens calling in the police. That's all we need at the moment." He averted his gaze to Gwen. "And you, missy, come here, beside me, please. Carefully."
Although he wouldn't admit it, the thought of Gwen being somewhere else - and not at his side - unnerved Jack greatly. He wanted to know that she was safe beside him. It didn't matter if she was a meter away or a mile, he needed to know she was safe. The heart of the team, they always said... and what would happen if that heart stopped pumping?

As cautious as she was, she could only stay still. The sight of Owen charging out was both relieving and a bit amusing. Despite the fact that the last time she'd met John, he had tried to kill her, she found that Owen was being extremely foolish. Wait, what had John just called her? What exactly made her the bleeding heart beauty? Was it simply because she was sympathetic and that she believed in just treatment of every and all person and being?
Gwen didn't get much time to even form a response before she heard gunshots being fired, and she thought that was perhaps the worst if ideas. There was small chatter and she noticed when Jack joined into the fray.
Owen was reprimanded and John had the person that he had been seeking out, most likely. Being told "And you, missy, come here, beside me, please. Carefully." was exactly what she wanted to hear.
"Right." She said and redirected her attention to John, walking slowly away from him and closer to Jack with each step. She knew better then to run, for it was easier to make a mistake with your guard down then it was to when paying close attention.
"Jack's right though Owen. It's a pedestrian area, with all the civilians they'll wind up calling the police because of the gunshots, and well... I think you can figure it out from there." Gwen stated, though she was talking, she was still on high alert. It felt like she had taken ages before reaching the relative safety of being beside Jack.

Hating to hide the guns away, Owen did want to keep the advantage over the criminal who had done Torchwood wrong. They did not need the police involved either, but the MD did not want to give John an opportunity. Crossing his arms front of him, he hid the guns out of view, but John and the Torchwood knew the guns are stood by as Owen wanted to blast a hole in John’s heart.
When Gwen walked carefully and slowly to Jack’s side, Owen glared at John and hoping the other man would give the MD a reason to pull his guns out and shoot John, but Owen knew John going to try sexual flirt his way with Jack. The Medical Doctor had prayed Jack would not fall for the man’s flirts.
Honest, Owen felt better because Jack was here and the Captain seemed to have a charisma that Owen would never have. So, Owen tilted his head to the side and used all his power to look intimated as he could so John got the message.

Ooc; I'm not going to post much, so that John has something to work with when he goes to post.
Now that two of his team members were both tucked at his sides, Jack allowed himself to relax slightly. He draped one arm around Gwen's shoulders, pulling her closer to him, and placed his other hand on Owen's should, giving it a light squeeze. Although the team was incomplete, Jack felt safer and he hoped they felt the same way.
But, Jack thought, a queer smile falling onto his face, we must look like some cheap pop band at the moment. Standing here next to each other, all fierce-looking.
He hoped that this small congregation before John faltered whatever motive he might have. Jack wouldn't put it past him to have a secret goal behind this 'I want to help you save the world!' scheme. No doubt, he would be benefiting from this in some way.
